Prince exasperates life-savers

Crown Prince Haakon's consistent refusal to wear a life jacket when boating is driving Norway's Life Saving Society to distraction. He has been spotted jacketless in a boat again, this time along with Crown Princess Mette-Marit's son Marius, who was also unprotected.

The Society is not just concerned about the message that the crown prince is sending with his cavalier safety attitude - Prince Haakon is also the High Protector of the Society.

The latest incident came during the regatta at Copa del Rey off Mallorca on Tuesday. Both Haakon and Magnus are without safety wear and the prince, who has been educated at the Naval Academy, isn't sitting in the boat but on the bow.

Life Saver Society vice-president Torill Hindmarch told newspaper VG that she would be in touch with the crown prince, and was especially worried about young Marius.

"This was extremely thoughtless of the crown prince and absolutely unfortunate," Hindmarch told the newspaper.

The Mallorca sighting is just the latest in a long series of similar poses struck by Norway's royal family, and Haakon is the most consistent offender.

Palace information chief Wenche Rasch said that Crown Prince Haakon had life jackets in the boat, as required by law.

"It was fully possible to get these on if anything had happened," Rasch said.

Scans from last weeks Se og Hør. Obiously it is papparazzi pictures, allthough the mag is very nobel and presents them as "happy family pictures" it does not look like they know they are photographed to me however since they were on a public beach they must know that they could be. Mette-Marits mother joined on the trip and the pictures are taken while Haakon attended the Young Global Leader conferance after the greek christening, they were staying at the island Kefalonia in Greece

I'm not sure LaMinka ... Colourpress has some great pictures, but unfortunately, unless you are registered, they don't say when or where the photos were taken. I would assume that they were taken within the last couple of days though. Sorry I can't tell you more ...

I remember reading on the SRMB that the Crown Princess was in London. Is she still there? Does anyone know if she was visiting family, friends?

Someone on SRMB saw her boarding a plane to London, so far I have seen no pictures of her there and she usually is photographed if she is there, they also was recently spotted on Mågerø in Norway according to Se og Hør. Marius uncle, I think he is married to the Queen s God daughter and close friend of the royal family, both her and her sister, whos names escape me at the moment, are close with Haakon and MM, and they lived in London last I heared, she also has some other relatives and a couple of norwegian friends who live there.

The text on imagine says that Mette-Marit and Haakon are guests at Kyril and Rosarios villa and while the men and children were at the beach the women prefered to stay at the property, so she is there as well just not on the beach. The norwegian holiday ends this weekend so they will problay head home soon.

Kyril looks good but his hair is getting grey I always thought Haakon looked rather fit but next to Kyril it looks like he needs to work out

Haakon is a very caring stepfather to Marius, which is very nice to see. He dotes on Marius and plays with him and takes an active interest in his life even without Mette-Marit around. Marius is very lucky to have Haakon for a step-father.
