I just had lunch with my Mom and she was telling me about her trip to Sweden last week. She had coffee with her friend who happens to be the Mother of Patrick's girlfriend Maline. She got to meet Maline and the twins and showed me some photos of them, they are VERY cute!
 
how many of her family live in sweden now i know one of her brothers sons live here
 
I'm surprised that members of the Queen's family are allowed to live in royal properties. Her elderly mother having an apartment in the palace is one thing, but I would think there'd be public criticism of her nephew being given an apartment in the Royal Mews (not that I'm criticising).

I don't know about Queen Silvia's nephews and nieces living in Germany, but queen Silvia's brother Walther's son Patrick Sommerlath moved to Sweden already as a teenager when his parents were in the middle of their divorce. Patrick lived in Drottningholm. Patrick has stayed in Stockholm ever since and founded the exclusive club Nobile in Stockholm together with Tom Davidson. I don't know if he still is involved in Nobile. According to Linkedin he is Senior Partner at TRS Travel Rights services.

Svensk Damtidning published today at their website the article about Maline Sommerlath, Patrick Sommerlath's wife, which was on their last week's paper issue.
Maline is half spanish and tells that sometimes they celebrate swedish Christmas at the Palace and spanish Christmas with her relatives. She has her father and 20 cousins in Mallorca and two half sisters in Barcelona. Patrick's mother language is french, his mother is french and lives in Los Angeles and Patrick and Maline have stayed months with her. Patrick's father Walther Sommerlath, lives in Italy with his wife Ingrid and they speak german. Patrick's uncle Ralf Sommerlath lives in Belgium. At home Maline and Patrick speak swedish. Maline tells also that she was very nervous at the Royal Chapel when her twin daughters Anaïs and Chloë were flower girls at Madeleine's and Carl Philip's weddings.

Stoppa pressarna claims, that Patrick and Maline Sommerlath are separating. Their source tells that it is Maline who leaves their home and that she has already packed.
The Sommerlath family is always invited to the royal family's big festivities, where they have posed in front of the photographers. But behind the scenes, their marriage, for various reasons, has sometimes been very turbulent. Maline has told to her friends in the autumn, that they can't live together anymore.

And now Svensk Damtidning tells, that Patrick and Maline Sommerlath are divorcing.
Their application for divorce was submitted to the District Court on Friday.
Patrick Sommerlath is a cousin of Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Madeleine and Prince Carl Philip and is unbelievably close to the royal family. He came to Sweden when he was 15 years old in connection with his own parents divorce. Queen Silvia took him under her wings and he grew up with the royal family at Drottningholm Palace.
Patrick and Maline have children Chloé and Anaïs together. Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine are godparents of the twin daughters who are now ten years old. Patrick is the godfather of Princess Leonore.
Svensk Damtidning has been in contact with both Patrick and Maline Sommerlath. They didn't want to comment on their divorce application.

Stoppa pressarna tells that Patrick Sommerlath has had a surgery in his back.
Patrick has suffered from severe aches in the neck due to problems with the vertebrae in the upper back.
According to Stoppa Pressarna's sources, queen Silvia has been deeply concerned and has great concern for her beloved nephew.
The surgery was done in the beginning of the year at the private hospital Sophiahemmet in Stockholm and everything went well, Patrick tells at his Facebook.

Like many others, the Sommerlath family split in the last years of World War II. Dad Walther ran a factory in Berlin while mom Alice and the children Walther, Jörg and Silvia lived in the quieter Heidelberg.
Elder son Ralf had been evacuated in 1940, as a 10-year-old, with his entire school - first to Austria, then to Czechoslovakia and finally to Denmark. School work continued as usual while the war was going on. With letters and telephone conversations, he kept in touch with the family occasionally.
In the final stages of the war in the spring of 1945, all pupils were given uniforms and arms training, and had to go outside the school.
"Had the war lasted longer, we had been sent to the front," says Ralf Sommerlath for the first time in an interview, for SVT News.

I do remember that these twin daughters of Patrick Sommerlath and Maline were flower girls (and also with Princess Estelle) at the Wedding of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia.

Many people know that Patrick Sommerlath is Queen Silvia's nephew. But almost nothing has been known about his mother.
Queen Silvia's nephew Patrick Sommerlath, 48, has lived in Sweden for a full 32 years and has always been part of the royal family. He moved to Drottningholm and aunt Silvia as a lost 16-year-old in 1987, in connection with his parents' divorce.
