There's supposed to be an even stronger one between Charles and her mother Victoria Milford Haven.

I see a strong resemblance between Crown Prince Haakon and Queen Sonja. The same between King Harald and Princess Märtha Louise

ML also looks very much like her mother, just with lighter coloring.

Harald used to strongly favor his mom when he was a younger man, but somehow ended up looking more like his dad as he's aged.

I always wonder if Haakon has ever been tempted to have a mustache instead of the beard just to see how much he'd look like his namesake, although without the laser-blue eyes. (Although I have seen a picture of Prince Carl with a similar beard. Unsurprisingly, he looks like current-Haakon.)

And CP Haakon resembles with his great-grandpa Haakon VII

I think Elizabeth has her mother, Queen Mathilde’s, nose.
To me, it looks more like the typical Orleans-Coburg nose that many in the family have. Elisabeth, imo, resembles her paternal family, and has some features of her great-grandmother, Queen Astrid
, but the resemblance with Astrid was more evident until a few years ago
Her brother, Prince Gabriel, is the only one who really looks like his mother, Queen Mathilde, and also reminds me of his maternal grandfather, the late Count Patrick
Prince Emmanuel, on the other hand, is 100% a Coburg. He certainly looks like his father, his grandfather Albert and even his great-great-uncle Charles
The youngest, Princess Eleonore resembles very much her grandmother, Queen Paola and also a bit her father King Philippe

Victoria and Carl Philip strongly resembles their dad

Carl Philip makes me remember a young Carl XVI Gustaf

But where did Victoria get her very firm chin and jawline from? That wasn’t a huge characteristic of Carl Gustav’s face as a young man.

I think it's idiosyncratic to Victoria, unless it comes from somewhere on Silvia's side. Victoria is a pretty good mix of both her parents, imho. Actually, so are both her siblings. (I don't know what CG inherited from his own father, because I can never see anything but Sibylla looking at him.)

Much has been made of Estelle's resemblance to Victoria, and Estelle may have a somewhat similar jawline, but just not quite as pronounced.

Every time I see King Pavlos my brain automatically says “he was a good-looking guy”. Felipe is also a good-looking guy, but it’s taken until today for me to realize how much he looks like grandpa (although weirdly enough both his grandfathers had a small resemblance): Paul of Greece - Wikipedia

Maybe because Felipe’s is a few inches higher, but they have most of the same face. Greek genes must be up there in strength with the Belgian ones.

Good-looking guy and his cute family: Sofia with long hair makes it possible to see Elena does not resemble her father 100%, imho. Getty Images

And at least we know what her great-niece would look like if she cut her hair, ha, ha, ha. Getty Images

I think Princess Caroline of Monaco looks a lot like her mother Princess Grace: https://www.reddit.com/r/RoyalsGossip/comments/1imbzm7/young_princess_caroline_of_monaco_seemed_to/

Harald V resembles his maternal grandfather Prince Carl, Duke of Västergötland.

Hussein, Crown Prince of Jordan is a copy and paste of his namesake grandpa King Hussein: https://www.reddit.com/r/RoyalsGossip/comments/1h9lwrz/like_grandfather_like_grandson/

We all know Delphine is a copy and paste of her grandma Queen Astrid and her kids look like Elisabeth and Emmanuel.

Eugenie looks a lot like her great-grandma Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

Leah Behn is a copy and paste of her mother and her older sister Maud is a copy and paste of their father.

In this pic Astrid and Laurent resemble Eléonore and Emmanuel: https://www.reddit.com/r/RoyalsGoss...e_pic_of_philippe_astrid_and_laurent_in_1978/

While Louis looks a lot like Kate I also think he resembles Andrew somewhat.

George resembles Diana and her brother Charles Spencer.

William looks a lot like George V now that he’s grown a beard, I really hope he keeps it.

In this pic of a young Laurent he resembles Prince Gabriel: Getty Images

Pierre Casiraghi is a copy and paste of his father.

Maybe the chin and jawline skipped one generation, look at prince Gustav Adolf, king Gustav VI Adolf, and king Gustav V as young men.

Saw a pic of Juan Carlos’ mother Princess María de las Mercedes of Bourbon-Two Sicilies and she has a strong resemblance to her great-granddaughter Leonor. No wonder Juan Carlos was so handsome when he was young.

Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Duchess of Nemours, her grandson Dom Pedro de Alcântara and two of his children Dom Pedro Gastão & Dona Maria Francisca.

There are! Victoria Nemours always looked very natural in her photographs. She must have been a very striking looking woman. I except the last photograph taken of her though. If I’m not completely mistaken wasn’t a dreadful one taken of her, fever-ridden and lying on her deathbed at the age of 35? That photo haunted me for ages after I first saw it.

Yes, sadly there was.

Very strong generational resemblances.
yes those Coburg features are strong.

yes those Coburg features are strong.
They’re also strong in the Belgian royal family.

And not even just the Coburg genes, there are a lot of family resemblances in general.

In this pic Laurent has a strong resemblance to his nephew Gabriel and Astrid also resembles her niece Eléonore.

Princess Marie-Esméralda’s daughter Alexandra Moncada also resembles a young Laurent and her son Leopoldo resembles King Baudouin.

A young QEQM resembling her great-granddaughter Eugenie: https://www.reddit.com/r/RoyalsGoss...mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Princess Astrid of Belgium once again resembling her niece Eléonore in her youth.

And I think Philippe also resembles his nephew Amedeo in the picture, first time I've thought Amedeo resembles his mother's family.

I think Princess Eléonore of Belgium resembles her aunt Princess Astrid when she was young, I shared pics of them side by side on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/RoyalsGossip/comments/1fvnpit/princess_eléonore_of_belgium_and_her_aunt/
More comparisons: https://www.reddit.com/r/RoyalsGoss...incess_eléonore_of_belgium_twinning_with_her/

Eléonore looks more like Astrid than either of her parents.

He was known as ‘Foxy Ferdy’ wasn’t he, presumably because of his shrewdness and cunning?

Ferdinand I’s uncle also named Ferdinand became king consort of Portugal. They come from the Koháry branch of the Saxe-Coburg and Gotha family that was founded when the wife of Prince Ferdinand of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (father of Ferdinand II and August) became the head of the House of Koháry, a Hungarian noble family.
