I love that last dress on the page. It's the silvery/white dress with the gold trim. I don't think anyone could go wrong with that dress.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit made her first solo trip on royal business over the weekend, spending four days in Washington DC promoting Norwegian interests. Here she posed before the US Capitol

The crown princess had a varied agenda, which began Friday evening with an official dinner at the Norwegian embassy that honored Nobel Peace Prize winner Jimmy Carter. She posed here with the former US president before the dinner began.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit sat next to American media mogul Ted Turner during dinner at the Norwegian embassy.

On Saturday, Mette-Marit took in the Judy Chicago exhibit at the National Museum of Women in the Arts.

There was also time for some sightseeing in Washington DC, with Norway's ambassador to the US Knut Vollebaek and his wife Ellen as her guides.

On Sunday, it was really "showtime" for Crown Princess Mette-Marit, when she opened the exhibit "Norway Says" at Washington's Union Station. The exhibit shows off Norwegian design and is tied to an annual Christmas exhibit sponsored by the Norwegian embassy.

As always when the royals make an appearance, little children are in place to hand them flower bouquets. Four-year-old Amalie Elvesaether was there to do the honors for Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

There weren't many signs of nerves when Crown Princess Mette-Marit, flowers in hand, prepared to make a speech at the "Norway Says" exhibit.

Earlier in the day, Crown Princess Mette-Marit attended a Norwegian church service at The Lutheran Church of the Reformation. She was accompanied into the church by Pastor Conrad Braathen.

Mette-Marit met singer Maria Solheim at the church service.

And after the service, Mette-Marit greeted American and Norwegian children at the church.

On Monday, the crown princess paid a call on the World Bank. She's studying development issues in London, and was keen to talk with World Bank officials.

Mette-Marit, herself a student in London, also visited Norwegian students at Johns Hopkins University in nearby Baltimore. Dorthe Bakke from Tromso (left) and Trine Lunde from Os were among those meeting the crown princess.

And where was Crown Princess Mette-Marit's husband while she was in Washington? Crown Prince Haakon was in Berlin, performing royal duties of his own and helping the city's mayor light Berlin's official Christmas tree.

Hi Sylvia. You know, I think that you're right. Mette-Marit's jacket does resemble that of the one that Infanta Cristina wore at little Miguel's presentation. I like the color on her. I don't recall seeing Mette-Marit wearing that much red. What do you think?

Sunlesstanning, I agree that Mette-Marit looks lovely. I love her skin. I don't think that she would look well if she wore a lot of makeup. It would take away from her natural beauty. Some people need it and it works for them, but Mette-Marit simply doesn't need it IMO.

These are all fabulous pictures, jun5. Thank you for thaking the time to share them. When you see this many pictures together you notice patterns about people, and I noticed that in her down time, Mette-Marit seems to prefer hippish-style clothes, which she wears very well.

I like her clothes that both of the clothes of official business and private clothes. I think her to whom elegant dresses and private clothes of hippish-style are dressed stylishly as wonderful. :flower:

I think that her sense of the cloth is very very unique !
