if you compare the baby picture of mary on the crown prince/ss webpage, then the new baby looks alot like Mary, at least I think so.

this little family looks happy and healthy. Good for them. I wish them all the happiness in the world with their new little bundle of joy.

I am really much moved by the whole Mary-Fred story from start to now. They are both so blessed. I am really happy for them and wish them the best with their budding family.

I actually found out about it on E! I was like Oh snap!!! Finally!... Good for them. :)

Congratulations to the family!!!The baby looks so sweet:flowers:

Gosh i do really hope they take some "official" photos! I would love to see the little princess with her eyes open:flowers:
I just love that we have a princess in Denmark..its really lovely. Its been such a heartwarming few days...
Oh! I read somewhere that someone thought Frederik was quite rude in answereing a request to remove the baby's cap..Was it here? I didnt think it was rude, i mean, he was smiling but firm. Anyway, i agree with Tv2News..Bravo Frederik!!!

Thank you, maybe I'll send the congratulations. But will they read them? I'd like they to know that in Poland exists a girl who likes them. Maybe they will visit Poland some time?

Article from http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/The Mercury

PRINCESS Mary's newest crown jewel shone bright last night as the newborn girl left hospital to begin her fairytale life.
New mum Mary cradled the tiny daughter she's nicknamed little "Pigen", Danish for girl, for a crowd of hundreds gathered for the first glimpse.
"She's been good, very good for her mother. Only up once a night," the radiant Australian-born princess said. "I breastfeed her ... and she has a very good appetite."

I do not know, but I am sure it will depend on how much mail they receive.

:)

To me all newborns look the same but I'm happy that their baby is healthy.

What bothers me is that the royal site has not been updated yet. When Christian was born, and when Alexandran married it was updated quickly , but for the first Princess born to Denmark in 60 years...nothing.

This question may have been answered already... but I was wondering about Danish and Lutheran traditions regarding baptisms. Why is it that there is such a long waiting period between the birth of the baby and the baptism? Does this have anything to do with Danish, Lutheran or royal traditions? I was wondering the same thing about telling everyone what the new little Princess' name will be. I know that it is a big deal to tell everyone her name at the baptism... but that is quite some time from now. I know this was discussed when Christian was born, but I don't remember the answers. It's all very interesting to me as I'm just a simple catholic -- and we usally baptize babies as 'straight away' as we can.
'
i think its very normal. atleast it is in my family. To keep it a little more special its more funny when you first learn the childs name when its babtised. I for my self was 4 month old when I was babtised.
I think its very normal in Denmark to do this but pls correct me other danes if you have experienced something different.

thank you for the videos crm !!!!!

There was an official press release on their website. Perhaps the princess will be added once there are official pictures.

Lady E, to add to Betina's posting. In the UK I think it is generally at last 6 weeks before the baby's christening, but usually more 2 to 3 months. It is not unusual though if it is later than this.

I loved this picture:

TV 2 Galleri

It shows how much afective Mary is and also it has reminded me of when Mary and Fred came home with Christian and Fred had little Christian in his arms and Mary came and thrown her arms around her husband, showing how happy and unite they were. So lovely!

i actually think the baby looks more like frederik than mary. of course, the dark hair is mary's but other features look very much like frederik. i guess it's a bit early though: christian also looked like his mum first and now he seems to have taken after his dad.

I was thinking about that too. It's better to wait to see who the new princess looks like. I don't have any idea who she looks like now.

Oooohhhh!!! I'm happy!!! For the first time, Princes "obeyed me" and gave birth to a baby which the sex I wanted to! So...Finally, Denmark Kingdom has its little Princess!!!! Prince Christian will have a sister to play with! I would have be very dissapointed if they would have another baby boy.

Congratulations, Prince Frederick and Princess Mary!!! (And of course, Prince Christian) ;) :flowers:

More video and another from tv2.dk. One more clip which is the better of the two.

This is definitely the quote of the week from one Austrailian news anchor, "One boy, one girl. Do they have a quota to fill?"

That TV2 gallery is the most beautiful set of pictures I have ever seen of the CP family. Honestly. I have never seen the family looking so pure and beautiful. For the first time, they look so perfect that I might forget they are royal and think they are just the most happy family in the world, if only for one deluded moment. :p Deluded, that is, about the "not royal". They are absolutely happy, no doubts, no delusions there.
It must be because they have never in fact, ever been so happy as they are in those pictures. A man and woman so much in love, and now with two brilliant, bright, lovely, healthy kiddies. How could they be happier?

such beautiful pictures! I personally think "lille pige" looks just like her mother! hopefully it will stay that way, because it's so nice when mothers and daughters look alike. I also hope she has a great relationship with her brother.

how do you pronounce pige? i know lille
