Queen Máxima Visits a Cheese Factory!

The Queen of the Netherlands today paid visits to two businesses involved in the production of cheese, one of the products her country exports globally, a dairy farm and a cheese production factory.

Queen Máxima, wearing one of her more intriguing outfits of red culotte shorts and floral shirt, first was shown around the a dairy farm in Koudum owned by the Stokman family that is home to 300 cows.

Later, it was on to the FrieslandCampina cheese factory, which was the recipient of the Koning Willem I Prize for 2014 in the category of big business for their “integrated supply chain management and cooperation with dairy farmers that through its unique design is the basis of [the company’s] success.”

The Queen was given a white lab coat, special white lab loafers and a green hair net before undertaking a tour of the factory floor. She was shown some of the different blocks of cheese made from the three million litres of milk used daily by the factory.
