Vanity Fair ranked her among the best dressed people in 2010, so let’s take a flashback on Crown Princess Mary’s maternity fashion so far!
One of her first appearences after the announcement of her pregnancy with twins was during her visit to friend Amber Petty in Australia. She was seen shopping in Adelaide, in a casual yet classy outfit, wearing a soft blue ruffled blouse, a black cardigan, stretch jeans and wedge heels by Christian Louboutin. To this look, she added Jackie O-like sunglasses, probably by Tom Ford, and a bag by Bottega Veneta.
Attending the pre-wedding cocktail party of Prince Nikolaos of Greece and Miss Tatiana Blatnik in Spetses, Greece in late August, Mary chose a dusky pink dress with silver embroidery by Missoni and bronze heels.
Attending a gala for the Danish Refugee Council in early September, Crown Princess Mary recycled a silver dress by Malene Birger. Another nice dress, which was a grey fitted, Crown Princess Mary wore only a few days later – designed by Hugo Boss (Fall 2010).
The princess as well recycled two lovely coats, a cream white coat in which she had been seen before, in May 2009, and a patterned coat she had chosen to wear during her pregnancies with Prince Christian and Princess Isabella as well.
At a reception dinner, Crown Princess Mary appeared in a black, one-shoulder draped dress. The dress’ simple look was finished by a dramatic pair of earrings by Amrita Singh and black Prada heels.
Why going for a brand new dress if you have such a pretty lace dress in your closet? The delicate piece had
been worn in August and June 2005 before, this time a Bottega Veneta clutch was added as accesory.
One of her last public appearences before she went on maternity leave, was attending the dinner for the anniversary of the Guards Hussars Regiment at Anvorskov Barracks in Vordingborg in November, to which Mary wore a stunningly beautiful floor-length purple dress with a pretty neckline – amethyst earrings and a deep purple velvet cape finished the look.
