Maybe not applause, exactly, but ....I don’t know, just positive noises, affectionate call outs. That said, that would be in America; I’m not sure how the British public shows their love...

I wonder if the Sussexes chose not to submit their events to the Court Circular.

I am beginning to think that this is their personal choice to no longer submit their CC entries to the appropriate office to be signed off by QEII.

For example, they may prefer to not put the Endeavour Awards on the CC, but post on their Instagram at a time of their choosing which may or may not coincide with a major speech by the Duchess of Cornwall.

Yes I did read a few articles that made reference to the timing.

'Compare and contrast' the cheering Public given to the couple at Canada house, just prior to 'the bombshell'.. Near silence is very rare indeed, even if the 'boo' was from a reporter...

Those people were waiting in quite heavy rain to see the Sussexes, and I heard calls of 'Meghan!' Meghan! and 'Harry!' from them. People would hardly be standing in silence in rain to show disapproval. They wouldn't bother to stop and stand there if they disliked the couple whether in silence or not.

If true it comes across as another way of showing that they from now on do as they please and although still enjoying their 'royal titles' until the end of the month have already full departed as far as they are concerned.

All in all, by the end of March they will have officially still been working royals but have not done the work that comes with that for the last 4 1/2 months of their 'tenure'.

It was one boo, according to this morning's paper - I don't think it was a big deal. And there isn't usually wild applause - it's not a pop concert . Also, it was pouring with rain, which probably literally put a dampener on things! You can hear people clapping and cheering and shouting "We love you" - so I don't know why someone's put that on You Tube under a headline about booing!

Perhaps it's the prolonged applause bit that reporters think is noteworthy. Also, there's been a lot of speculation that they'd get a poor or 'luke-warm' reception on this visit so maybe that has something to do with it.

In a Hollywood Meghan looks great. Very curious what she will wear on her final day alongside Kate. Meghan never stops smiling, I found one picture without a smile. Colour coordinated with Harry.
It must be bittersweet to leave the royal life and be out in Hollywood with the biggest stars around? I think Meghan wanted this life, style and review as today and yesterday..

I think perhaps there is an underestimation of people's dignity. What did you expect from people? They have, in rather a turn, dealt with these final engagements, in a dignified manner and people have dealt with them with dignity. It's what grown ups do. Been lacking g from every other thing Harry and Meghan have done in this exit so far but people will remember the end. So yes they appear to be playing a blinder.

Is everything they do representing the Queen , i.e. royal duties, or are some their own projects which would then make a difference to what goes on the CC.
Meghan appears to like going down the road of private visits followed by photographs, is this another reason why they do not appear on the CC.

Meghan's private visits - yes that does make sense ... but Harry's weren't private and last year visits to these same events or organisations were in the CC.

Not everything they do goes into the CC - e.g. we know that Camilla has made private visits to rape crisis centres but these were PRIVATE i.e. NO photos and no mention of them at the time. It was years later that we learnt that she was doing it and even now there is no coverage of these visits. If the media covers the event it is normally a CC event.

I think these engagements have shown what a great asset they were to the BRF. It is a shame they are leaving but it is what it is. Now all we can do is wish everyone well and look forward to the new realities.

ITA. The Sussexes will be missed on events and royal tours, even though they will continue doing a lot of work for charities and for their patronages, probably mostly behind-the-scenes over the next year.

I'm happy for them obtaining some freedom and privacy in Canada, and I'm so glad they are giving their true supporters this lovely series of last events as senior royals in such style. For me, both Meghan's and Harry's smiles are genuine.

The next time we see them will likely be at the Invictus Games in The Hague, in May.

They do look fantastic in the matching red...Maybe they are happy at least in part because things have been smoothed over somewhat. Harry as apparently spoken to both his father and grandmother, and they appear to be on good terms. So, H and M can relax and enjoy these engagements - and I’m sure they will be back for things like Trooping the Colour...

Its exactly the kind of event they love and they are good at. The big entrance, glamour, admiration, the couple standing out.
The problem was that this is only one minor aspect of royal life, and many other aspects did not work out for them.
