I never cease to be impressed by the way the PoW delivers an address. He is clear, concise and to the point and you can't help but feel that he means every word he says. His diction is his trademark as with each well paced sentence itself bestowing a greater degree of gravitas than words alone as he adds that touch of humanity and personal feeling that we are all missing in this Covid-19 world.

As an aside, I have noticed that many people have slowed their speech as there is less external interaction and we've watched every old TV show on Netflix and spend more time with our families and have plenty of time to share as they are not off on holiday or eating out. One small upside.

I can think of some of his family members that would look great in it.

Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas Eve. The poem was recorded in support of the Actors’ Benevolent Fund, of which The Prince has been Patron for over 20 years."

Definitely puts you in the Christmas spirit. Love to see them part. :flowers:

I notice there are a few little word differences to the version we have here.

The Prince of Wales, patron of Macmillan Cancer Support warns about cancer risks and delayed operation during the COVID-19 pandemic, as he wrote an article on The Telegraph (despite the article started "By Victoria Ward"). He also revealed that the Macmillan Cancer Support charity has lost a third of its fundraised income.

Exclusive: Prince Charles warns cancer at risk of becoming 'forgotten C' in Covid pandemic

Prince Charles warns cancer risks becoming 'Forgotten C' during Covid
https://www.itv.com/news/2021-01-02...ancer-risks-becoming-forgotten-c-during-covid

Loved The Night Before Christmas and shared it with family.

I do feel for people whose Cancer treatment routine is deemed too risky during the Covid pandemic.
Here in Victoria there is now a flourish of surgeries - to catch up the backlog.

Its not really the treatment but the diagnosis which is the concern right now.

As Prince Charles reminds us, with covid, a lot of people are avoiding hospitals. Many people will over look minor symptoms which may have taken them to the hospital sooner. Unfortunately with some forms of cancer, the sooner the treatment the better chance of survival. A matter of weeks can make a huge difference. There will unfortunately likely be many cases of cancer found in the next months to come, which could have been diagnosed much earlier.

Cancer treatment- both surgical and medical have continued and will do so. Only elective surgeries are on back burners. But the people need to be diagnosed first and that is the major issue here.

Not that sending family members for surgery or chemo right now is not terrifying, with covid in the hospitals. I know that fear 2x over with my family right now.

Love the Terra Carta plan. I agree with it all.
We will continue to court pandemics unless we restore and value habitats and other creatures and celebrate biodiversity.

Also love the hedgehog initiative.

And the Woollen Scarf being lauched for the ten year anniversary of Campaign for Wool looks gorgeous and I want one!

The Prince of Wales as Founding Patron of the British Asian Trust delivered an opening remark for a webinar on the topic of Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy:

"We are delighted that our School Leadership Conference has begun with opening remarks from His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, Royal Founding Patron of the PTI. "

I always enjoy listening to Charles speak. He doesn't get enough credit for his work. His work through the PTI over the years has been amazing.

I do hope when he is king he is able to continue it, or William takes it over.

One upside to covid I have got a chance to hear Charles and Camilla more then ever talk about their work. They tend to get so little coverage in the general media for many of their events (not glamerous/popular enough). But the zoom meetings and social media posts during this has allowed more access.

The Prince of Wales as Patron of the Marie Curie UK charity has recorded a message for the Day of National Reflection:

Charles speech was timely and gave a real heads up to those helping the bereaved that there are experts charities that can help us to help them.

Nobody want's to be on the receiving end of a pat on the hand followed by words of 'wisdom' such as 'time will help heal'. It is true but when you are dealing with large numbers of grieving families all at different stages of grief, denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance, not to mention the miryad stage between and afrer, it is humblingto know their ar grief experts that may help some.

On another topic, I love the cadence that Charles speaks in. He has lost the posh, upper-class remoteness taught by his Nannies, Governesses and elite private schools instilled in him.

Once he got involved in the Duchy of Cornwall and was dealing with everyman beit a farmer or investors, etc. He finally, with his marriage to Camilla, has become relaxed and easy on film. Admittedly the advent of Zoom calls for both family and work during Covid has changed us all. But Charles delivery is perfect. His diction (and lack of mo) make his words easily translated into sign and the relatively slow delivery allows you to keep up with what he is saying.

Well said.
it's a beautiful call to reflection.

The loss is devastating for people all over the UK.
