A happy event after the death of Countess Therese Maria Hoyos, nee Baroness Mayr von Melnhof last year:

Her grandson, Count Nikolaus Hoyos (b.1985) [son of her firstborn son, Count Ernst Hoyos (b.1950) & his wife Susanne, nee Hauser (b.1953)] married (or plans to marry) Philippa Lovrek (b.1987) this year.

Nikolaus is fifth of six children and fourth one who marries.

Philippa Lovrek (b.1987) is the daughter of Paul Josef Lovrek (b.1954) and Princess Maria von Auersperg-Trautson (b.1957).

Her father Paul Josef Lovrek (b.1954) is the son of August Lovrek (1911-2003) and Countess Aloysia Philippine Czernin von und zu Chudenitz (b.1924), herself daughter of Count Carl Maria Czernin von und zu Chudenitz (1886-1978) and Countess Wilhelmine Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau (1891-1971).

Her mother Princess Maria von Auersperg-Trautson (b.1957) is daughter of Prince Eduard von Auersperg-Trautson (1917-2002) and Countess Isabelle von Aspremont-Lynden (1923-2001).

Btw, Count Nikolaus Hoyos von und zu Stichsenstein (b.1985) and Philippa Lovrek (b.1987) are 6th cousins, both being descendants of Prince Johann Baptist von und zu Liechtenstein (1760-1836) and his wife Maria Josefa, Landgräfin von Fürstenberg-Weitra (1776-1848).

His is the eldest child and first one who marries; his younger brothers Christian and Philipp (b.3 July 1986) are single.

Her first name is actually Elisabetta.

A member of the Fiat dynasty on her mother's side.

Susanna's grandfather Giovanni was the founder of Fiat, and her father Edoardo as his only son, was primary shareholder of the company. Her mother was Virginia Bourbon del Monte who was a daughter of Carlo Bourbon del Monte, Prince di San Faustino.

Thea has a few well known second cousins on her mother's side:

-John Elkaan- head of Fiat and brother in law to Beatrice Borromeo (married to her sister Lavinia). He is the maternal grandson of Susanna's brother Gianni. He took over the company from his grandfather.

-Prince Alexander and Princess Tatiana von Furstenberg- children of Prince Egon and Diana von Furstenberg. Egon's mother Clara was Susanna's sister.

-Prince Hubertus of Hohenlohe-Langenburg: former Mexican Olympic skier turned pop star. His mother is Princess Ira/Virginia von Furstenberg, Clara's daughter.


-Rodrigo Tiberto Brandolini d'Adda, Count of Valmareno, husband of Princess Georgina Maria Natividad de Faucigny-Lucinge et Coligny, a fashion designer who has worked with Valentino and Balmain among others. His mother Cristiana was Susanna's younger sister.

-Count Nuno Carlo Brandolini d'Adda di Valmareno whose wife Muriel Brandolini is a well known interior designer who has done commissions for royals and celebrities including Pavlos and Marie-Chantal. Another son of Cristiana.

-Andrea Agnelli- chairman of football club Juventus FC. Andrea's father was the youngest sibling, Umberto Agnelli. Andrea was the son of Umberto by his second wife, a cousin of his brother Gianni's wife.

Cars are definitely in the family. Thea's great uncle Umberto was first married to Antonella Piaggio. She was the stepdaughter of Enrico Piaggio, son of the founder of the auto company. She was an heiress to her stepfather and Piaggio came under control of her husband's family in 1959. Antonella and Umberto had one son who reached adulthood, Giovanni (half brother to Andrea). He was being groomed to take over Fiat but he died of cancer in 1997, and John Elkaan became the future head instead.


Delfina (Thea's mother) is not well known, either is her father. Her mother Susanna was a politician, a member of both the European parliament and the Italian parliament as a senator. She also served as the first ever female Minister of foreign affairs in Italy for a year in 1995. It took until 2013 for the next female to be appointed to the role.


Delfina's sister Priscilla Rattazzi is a well known Italian photographer who has worked for the likes of the New Yorker and Italian vogue. One of her husbands was the son of film producer Carlo Ponti (Ponti was married to Sophie Lauren who was Priscilla's husband's stepmother).


Elisabetta 'Thea' father is a politician and economist.

I said it with Beatrice and will say it here, it makes sense for many reasons. They shouldn't have to settle for a smaller wedding, or anything less then what they planned. And in both cases, there is a lot of family abroad to consider. Ned's family is not in Jordan. With borders closing and travel cancelled, it is doubtful his family would be able to come for the wedding. Or friends the couple may have abroad as well. Makes sense they hold off until everyone they love can be there and they can have the wedding they planned.

Isabel is fourth of five children and reportedly first one who marries.

Countess Antonia von Meran (b.1994) [daughter of Count Johannes von Meran (b.1961) & his wife Katharina, nee Harmer (b.1965)] married Pablo Moreno de la Cova y Solís-Beaumont this year.

Antonia is second of three children and first one who marries.

Rayiah is the youngest of eleven siblings and last one who marries.

Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary of York (b.8 August 1988) [elder of two daughters of Prince Andrew of Great Britain, Duke of York (b.1960) & his former wife Sarah Margaret Ferguson (b.1959)] married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (b.1 November 1983) [son of Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi (b.1951) & his former wife Nicola "Nikki" Burrows, now Mrs. Williams-Ellis (b.1956)] at All Saints Chapel, in Windsor Great Park on 17 July.
Edoardo has already a son Christopher Wolf "Wolfie" (four) from a previous relationship with Dara Huang (b.around 1983).
