Luckily he decided to marry someone he loves instead of someone for dynastic reasons.

There were people on this board who Suggested he should marry her so to combine the two claims and end the dispute. The two of them, and anyone who knows them, was not involved in such discussions.

Thankfully the time of arranged marriages for dynastic purposes are over. And dynastic marriages for a defunct throne makes even less sense.

Thankfully he marries for love.

Not to mention someone his age. The Duke is 28 years old. Maria Carolina is 17 years old. Thankfully the days when 11 year age difference would be considered normal have passed.

Princess Johanna Reuss (b.1985) [daughter of Prince Heinrich IX Reuss (b.1947) & his wife Amélie, nee Baroness Besserer von Thalfingen (b.1959)] married Baron Constantin von Wiedersperg-Leonrod (b.1983) on 6 June.

Bride's only brother Heinrich XXVI (b.1988) married Isabella Anna Frampton (b.1989) in 2013 but they divorced in 2018.

Count Paul of Orsini and Rosenberg (b.1982) [son of Johannes, Prince of Orsini and Rosenberg (b.1949) & his wife Marie Eleonore, nee Countess von Thun und Hohenstein (b.1956]) married Louise Müller-Schönau sometime this year.

Paul is the youngest of his parents' three children and last one who marries; his brother Hereditary Count Heinrich (b.1979) married in 2014 Countess Maria Lucia von Gudenus (b.1982) - they have a daughter Ida (b.2015) and a son Ferdinand (b.2017).
His sister Countess Johanna (b.1981) married also in 2014 Philipp Schwarz (b.1983).

Constantin and Johanna are 6th cousins once removed, both descending from Karl II, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and Friederike, Landgräfin von Hessen-Darmstadt. ;)

The pictures are from 3 years ago... So, logically she looks a few years younger than 26 as she was 23 at that time.

In her family, she isn't such a young bride:
- Her sister Marie Christine was 25
- Her sister-in-law Kathleen was 26
- Her sister-in-law Adelaïde was 23

She still looks very young in the photos from last year (2019). I guess she just has that type of beauty. Queen Fabiola of Belgium still looked like a teenager when she was short before her 30.

Alexander, Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe (b.25 December 1958) [son of Philipp-Ernst, Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe (1928-2003) & his wife Benita, nee Baroness von Tiele-Winckler (1927-2013)] married, as his third wife, his longtime partner, Iranian pianist Mahkameh Navabi in Buckeburg Castle on 21 September.

Prince Alexander was married firstly (from 1993 to 2002) to Princess Marie Louise "Lily" of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (b.25 September 1972) and secondly (from 2007 to 2018) to Nadja Anna Zsöks (b.20 February 1975); both these marriages ended in divorce.
By his first wife he has a son, Heinrich-Donatus (13-5-1994), by the second - two daughters: Felipa (b.1-12-2008) and Philomena (b.25-7-2011).

Exactly four weeks earlier, the groom's only sister Princess Tatiana of Prussia (b.1980) & her husband Philipp Womack (b.1981) had twin daughters Xenia & Amalia.
They also have a son Arthur (21-11-2015).
What a joyous year for Prince Andrew! Two new granddaughters from a daughter and a son's marriage!
