I really liked this dress for Laurentien. The cut is nice and I love the springlike colors! And she always so enthusiastic and full of enery, especially around kids. Well done, Your Royal Highness!

I believe she was in Amsterdam in that green outfit to, and yesterday as well. Something to do with Amsterdam being the mondial literature city of the world in 2008. I read a short article about it in free newspaper 'De Pers', which is usually somewhat sceptical. They remarked that Laurentien did not open her mouth, which I find hard to believe...

I have to say, there is nothing redeemable about this outfit for me. It is an awful colour, something like a cross between toothpaste and hospital wall color. And, to add to that, I think that it is far too short for a princess. For her age, I think that she should wear something and inch or two longer at least. I know I sound old fashioned, but there you go. Just my opinion. And I just do not like the cut of the over coat. Sigh.. sometimes she gets it just right, but more often than not, for me, she just misses.

No the pictures are old. The last one was even made before her wedding I believe.

Wonderful mother - daughter-in-law relationships!

Laurentien's dress could have gone without the sleeves/jacket thing. But it's a gorgeous colour on her!
And you're right Avalon, Beatrix & Laurentien (and Máxima and Mabel) have a wonderful relationship!

I'm not quite sure if I should be asking this here but I will anyway... Does anyone have the date and place of the baptism of Prince Constantijn? Thanks in advance!

I don't know the date but I know that he was baptised with his cousin Prince Bernhard jr in the Dom church in Utrecht.

bit late response from me but there you go. Amazing that it is from DvF, so Laurentie does go to nice shops. Agree with Marengo it is too short she shows too much knee. There is something masculine about her and if she does not watch out she looks a bit like a transvestite.

Couldn't agree more.
I really like Laurentien and her (seemingly) gregarious personality, but I've always been amazed that the Queen's most handsome son affiliated himself with a partner who, at least looks-wise, cannot hold a candle to him.
Again, it's obvious Laurentien's charm is probably her best asset, but again when just judging looks, Constantijn could have done so much better. Unlike his brother Alexander, who I think lucked out when it comes to the appearance of his spouse. Of course, looks aren't exactly everything and I understand that, but I'm still bewildered sometimes at Constantijn's choice, that's all.

Prince Constantijn knows Laurentien almost for 35 years since her father Laurens-Jan Brinkhorst (until Feb. 2007 vice-premier) and her mother Jantien Brinkhorst-Heringa are longtime private friends to The Queen.
Princess Laurentien's mother was one of the ladies which shared Princess Beatrix' house when she studied at Leyden University in the 1960's. She and The Queen are befriended for almost 50 years....
The Brinkhorst family so now and then visited Drakensteyn estate and little Laurentien was playing with little Constantijn, not knowing that three decades later they would be married....

It was a double baptism indeed, april 1970.IIRC.Poor little Tijntje almost didn't make it,as he suffered from severe resperitory problems right
after his birth and was at the neonates ward for weeks. There was an immense sigh of relief when he was finally discharged.
He and Laurentien have known eachother most of their lives,as their parents were/are very close friends since their years at Leiden University.Princess Laurentiens mother lived at the same address as the then Princess Beatrix on the Rapenburg during that time.
They always met during every short/long stay of the Brinkhorst family in The Netherlands as Laurentiens father was the Ambassador for the EU in Tokio for years, etc etc.
Oh love "is a many splendoured thing"...you never know when it hits you untill it does. And it certainly hit Constantijn and Laurentien, big time.
