:previous: To my knowledge, Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York release separate cards. Whether it's wise to do so this year, considering all that has happened, is another thing.

The Christmas card from The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. This year they chose a picture from their visit in Cuba.

Charles and Camilla never fail to disappoint in their choices of photos for their holiday greeting cards. First thought on this year's is the caption "Riding off into the sunset together".

When something is just so right and fitting with a couple, it shows and these two people are the white and the yolk. They're different as individuals but make one astoundingly good egg together. :D

Perfectdescription of both Charles and Camilla and the photo is spot on.

Maybe, just maybe, HM, The Queen views her Christmas lunch for the extended family and her Christmas celebrations and get together at Sandringham more along the lines of what most people deem their celebrations to be. Personal invitations to attend with the option of declining the invitation via a RSVP and does not view it as a "command to attend" where to refuse an invitation would be a definite snub to the Queen. When the Queen hosts her family events, she's not hosting as the Queen but rather as Aunt Lilibet, Granny, Gan-Gan, Mother and Mama and Mum.

I think those of us that watch the royal goings on put too much into who goes and who doesn't and what the implications are behind it. Rumors start and gossip floats and relationships that we know absolutely nothing about really are put under a microscope and dissected and analyzed and put back together like a jigsaw puzzle with a whole lot of missing pieces.

There's a little bit of the Daily Mail in all of us from time to time. Its sometimes fun in a discussion to come up with our own thoughts of why things are the way they are. Like with Edo's non attendance at the lunch. Was he invited or not? Did he decline the invitation because of something else he needed to do? Did he get upset that Wolfie wasn't invited? Who knows? We sure don't. Only the family members really know and they're not talking. :D

We then start ' debating ' about who has the right guess, and we all think our own guess is the right one and everybody else is wrong..and none of us has a clue. I am sure there will be lots to discuss in 2020.

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all.

I am eagerly waiting for the rest of the BRF to post their Christmas Cards greetings.

From royal bloggers:
...about the Cambridges travelling in separate cars. There's now reports suggesting William and George attended a separate event before the luncheon and needed to be there 30 minutes earlier than everyone else. Apparently we'll hear more about it in the coming months.

Charles and Camilla also arrived separately, so my bet is on a new photo with the Queen, Charles, William and George.

Could well be, would make sense to do one when you know everyone is coming over to BP anyway. Plus no point trying to keep Charlotte and Louis entertained while the photos go on maybe?

That sounds like a reasonable guess; would be great to see another 4 generation picture!

What could be the occasion on which they intend to release it? The queen's birthday or maybe even a retirement (in the form of a regency for Charles?) for the queen (although she still seems to be going strong)?

And there we have it! The four generational picture of the Queen and her heirs. What I love about these pictures is that there's a reason for it and it shows family togetherness doing something rather than just a portrait.

A little video would have been lovely.

The last two pictures are sooo cute. The first one is definitely a miss like a big miss. So gloomy. Very cute little george :flowers:

It looks like stirring the Christmas pudding to me! That's a lovely series of photos; you can tell Prince Charles, especially, is enjoying himself.

Yay, new generational photos:clap:
1st one - George is all ‘nope, not smiling and you can’t make me’
2nd one – George all industrious and Charles is cracking up at whatever was said
3rd one – everyone helping George with baking, but the Queen’s purse is not missing a photo op:ninja:

Great to see a photo of the Queen from this event, we almost never see her since she’s already at home.
:advent:

Christmas is not too far off when we see the Queen setting off and arriving in Sandringham by train!

Cannot open the links are they available elsewhere, please?

I bet George knows a thing or two about stirring a cake mix / pudding mix, having watched his mum cook in the kitchen. You never know little George might be the most experienced male in the room. I agree that the first photo is ghastly but the rest show natural interaction which some of us prefer to see anyway.

And HM is wearing the Maria Feodorovna sapphire and pearl brooch, which is a beautiful piece.

Maria was Princess Dagmar of Denmark who married Grand Duke Alexander of Russia. She became Tsarina and Empress. She managed to escape after the revolution to live out her days in her native Denmark. Her sister was Queen Alexandra of England and the two were very close. I just thought as we have so many new members now that a little background might be of interest.

I like the idea of the pictures but I wish they were a bit more warm. They very Swedish royals in these but they do it better. That said, I love that they are doing this. It was much needed. George is adorable.

The Charles hearty laugh is such a treat. Merry Christmas

How many people bake in a suit and tie? :whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling:

Where did these pictures come from? They're not on any news websites yet, are they still embargoed?

How many people bake in a suit and tie? :whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling:

Seeing as the photos were taken right before the Queen's Christmas lunch for the extended family, it points to a reason to be in a suit and a tie.

From what I understand, William does cook at home and most likely George gets in on the action too with preparing meals. The days of men not being handy in the kitchen are long gone. :D

I understand that the photos may have been taken prior to the annual luncheon, however a good photographer and/ or stylist would have had an appropriate change of clothes available for Charles and William. JMHO

I have to agree. You can very much tell this was thrown together before they headed elsewhere. I don't even need a change of clothes but throw on an apron and put down the purse. At least.
