Thank you. Josefine, for the pix! The Queen Silvia is such a beauty! I hear she was a much expected child. It shows in these family pix, as well Do you have any more pix of her and her family (parents, brothers)?
One more thing, there is one pix of her with two little boys and a young man (I mean very young man) (can´t remember the page, though), but the title of pix seems to say (is it Swedish?) that it is a pix of her, her father and brothers. Now, surely, that young man (it must been in his teens! in that pix can´t be her father?

No, That must be Silvias oldest brother Walter Jr and her other brothers Jörg and Ralf.

Great pictures...
I just wondered if anyone knows where Silvia was born, I mean, I know it was Heidelberg, but was it at a hospital and if yes, which one?
Because I was born there too...!

Oh, by the way...why were Carl Philip and Madeleine not born at a hospital and Victoria was?

Didn't it have to do something with Victoria being premature ?

I think just Carl-Philip was premature (but just 2 weeks), but I would say that new born Victoria looked tinier and more fragile than her siblings.
And I think it´s better for a woman, who becomes mother for the first time, to get her child in the hospital. And I remeber that it was a big problem Queen Silvia that so many photographers were in front of the hospital..and when you stay at your home you can avoid, that they photograph you, while you suffer from labour pains and fears.

True, Carl Philip was born a few weeks early.
Thats why the King didn´t made it home in time for the birth. He was at Mainau visiting Lennart Bernadotte

Yes, Silvia Renate Sommerlath was born in Heidelberg, Germany 23 December 1943. I also want to mention that Rama VIII King of Siam 1935 - 1946 was born there as well.
