Princess Alia
Birth, Education and Occupation
Princess Alia is King Abdullah's eldest sister.
She was born on February 13, 1956. The Princess is the eldest daughter of the late King Hussein and Princess Dina.
Princess Alia attended the Ahliyyah School for Girls and Rosary College. She then attended the Sibton Park School in Lyminge, UK, before moving to Benenden School and getting her A-levels from the Millfield School. Princess Alia greaduated with honours from the Uiversity of Jordan, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature.
Princess Alia worked as Registrar and Artist with the British School of Archaeology under Crystal Benett OBE, and was a member of Fakherenlnissa' Zeid's Art Group since 1980s.
In her capacity as Director of the Royal Stables of Jordan for the Preservation of the Arabian Horses, Princess Alia initiated the "Arabian Horse at Hime" festival in 1988, which later became an annual event. The Princess also organized the Middle East Championships for Purebred Horses, Jordan.
Princess Alia is the President of the Royal Jordanian Equestrian Federation since 1993, Honourary President of the Ciracassian Ladies' Welfare Society, Honourary President of the Society for the Development & Welfare of Rural Women, Honourary President of the Jordanian Philatelic Society, Governor of the British Arab Horse Society and Patron of the Brook Hospital for Animals.
Personal Interests
Princess Alia holds a 2 Dan Black Belt Tae Kwondo since 1987, and enjoys equestrianism, horse breeding, judging (Arabian Horses), collecting stamps, reading and sports in general.
Personal life
Princess Alia was first married to Nasser Wasfi Mirza and has one son with him. In 1988 the Princess married Prince H.E. Mohammed Al Saleh and has two sons with him.
Children
The Princess has 3 sons, one from the first marriage and two from the second:
1) Prince Hussein Mirza was born on February 12, 1981. His father is Princess Alia's first husband, Nasser Wasfi Mirza.
2) Prince Talal Al Saleh was born on September 12, 1989. He is the elder son of Princess Alia and her second husband Mohammed Al Saleh.
3) Prince Abdel Hamid Al Saleh was born on November 15, 1992. He is Princess Alia's youngest son.
