Spanish State Visit to South Korea, October 23-24, 2019
El rey de España visitará Corea del Sur para reunirse con Moon l KBS WORLD Radio
translation:
Felipe VI, King of Spain, will make a state visit to South Korea on the 23rd and 24th of October and will hold a summit meeting with President Moon Jae In.
During the meeting, both leaders will discuss strategies to boost bilateral cooperation in various sectors, such as economy, culture or science and technology, while joining forces around the Korean peninsula's peace process. After the summit, President Moon will offer a gala dinner in honor of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.
The visit of the State of the Kings of Spain responds to the invitation of the South Korean president, facing the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries in 2020. It is the first visit of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia to South Korea, and the second of a Spanish monarch in 23 years, since his father and predecessor, the emeritus king Juan Carlos I, traveled to the country in October 1996.

Thay is quite a lavish farewell ceremony, with military honours et al. Most Royal Houses have abandoned these ceremonies and simply go aboard.

Yes it is seeing as how low key and low cost the SRF are compared to the other royal houses.

Maybe being low key and low costs allows some ceremonial extras like this departure!
I do like the way it is done, some formality at the start of a visit, bidding farewell for an important visit abroad - and not unlike the way it is done in Japan.

That's very true though still disappointing for us avid royal watchers.
