Daniel attended today at workshop with Generation Pep, IKEA and Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences. The workshop is held at IKEA in Älmhult.

Smålänningen newspaper found out that Daniel would be coming to Älmhult and IKEA.
IKEA's Press secretary Ellen Ferm said that is a closed event with no media present. For further information, they should contact the court directly.
After a check with the court, it turned out that Prince Daniel's visit was about something as uncontroversial as a workshop.
Ulrika Näsholm is the spokesperson for the Royal Court:
- Prince Daniel has a workshop at IKEA together with the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences and Generation Pep.

This workshop sounds very interesting. I hope we get some photos of it.

Tomorrow is Generation Pep's second Upp och hoppa, Sverige (Up and Jump, Sweden) national campaign day .
Daniel visits with Generation Pep Tärnsjö School in connection with national campaign day.

In the initiative "Up and Jump, Sweden!", Generation Pep engages all partners, our peppare and several of our schools that are affiliated to Pep School together in a manifestation day on January 31 for all children and young people's right to a healthy life.
The goals of the Upp och hoppa, Sverige campaing day are
- Show that we are many who support the rights of children and young people to a healthy life.
- Increase knowledge about the health of children and young people, where sedation is a big part of the problem.
- Increase knowledge about sedation and physical inactivity - the problems and positive effects of breaking the sedation.

A new royal way to work - which we have not seen before. Instead of a reporter interviewing the prince, Daniel answered Jenny Alversjö and Steffo Törnquist's questions directly into the camera.
- Today I will try to warm up and move. There is full activity here at Tärnsjö school, I'm here today and it is fun, says Daniel in the film clip.
It is easy to notice how passionate Daniel is about issues relating to the health of children and young people and the importance of moving. He continues:
- We adults are very important role models and I think we must ensure that the children are exposed to physical activity. That you take a small break in everyday life in general. Today, only three out of ten move enough. We sit around nine hours a day and that is far too much. Nowadays you want to sit at your room and play. It feels like the adventure has moved into the screen instead of outdoors.
Daniel says about the success of Generation Pep:
- We have had a good ability to gather many powers who are passionate about these issues. Everything from enthusiasts to companies. We must speak more about this. The school I visit today makes an incredible health venture. Among other things, they use a method called Pep School - where there is both knowledge and inspiration to download.
- I think it is extremely important that we get physical activity 60 minutes a day. How you do it isn't so important. The school has an important role in this, as has the whole society.
Host Steffo asks if Daniel's own children move?
- I believe very much in the power of good examples. When you go out with your children, you will be moving automatically. You find something to do. Nowadays the children don't have it boring, they have their mobile phones and tablets. They don't have to be creative and find something fun they have done themselves.
The interview ends with Jenny Alversjö who praises Daniel for her contribution as a flying reporter. "You are very welcome to continue that task", she says, joking a little.
- I don't know where I look and don't really know what it looks like here, the Prince laughs. and continues: I thank you for noticing this day and
Johanna Thulin Bratten, chef for Nyhetsmorgon tells about this a little unsual morning with prince Daniel as a reporter.
- We are very pleased with the element. Prince Daniel is passionate about spreading knowledge about how important it is to get children and young people to move. After conversing with the court, we came to the conclusion that it was a good idea to make an interview with the Prince like this when he visited a school in Tärnsjö.

On 31st January, on Generation Pep's national campaign day "Upp och hoppa, Sverige" (Up and Jump, Sweden) Generation Pep's managing director Carolina Klüft and the representatives of Generation Pep's founding partners wrote an article to Svenska Dagbladet.
"We need to stop the epidemic from sedentary"
Today we sit quietly on average nine hours a day. The epidemic of sedentary people which is spreading out needs to be stopped. We are ready to contribute, and for the second consecutive year we are behind a manifestation day for children and young people's health that was started in 2018 by Generation Pep. This writes Carolina Klüft, managing director for Generation Pep, together with representatives of the business community."

Svensk Damtidning's article about the article Generation Pep's managing director Carolina Klüft and Generation Pep's founding partners wrote to Svenska Dagbladet on Generation Pep's national campaign day "Upp och hoppa, Sverige" (Up and Jump, Sweden).

The Crown Princess Couple's Strong Message: "We Must Join Forces"
Generation Pep, Prince Daniel and Crown Princess Victoria's initiative to promote children's health, wrote a strong contribution to the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet's debate page. The message was clear: we have to work together - to succeed in breaking the sedentary trend.
"There are several reasons why, as a society, we now have to jointly consolidate in order to once and for all improve the health of children and young people and to reduce the sedentary of children and young people. In order for this to happen, all actors need to do their part; authorities, researchers, civil society, business, school, individual individuals and families", it is written in Svenska Dagbladet.

Great video, where Victoria, Daniel and the kids and the norwegian royals promote Generation Pep's "Up and Jump, Sweden!" campaign, which aims to get the people move more. Obviously done in Åre.

The pepidemic's joy of movement has also crossed the borders and brought along the Norwegian Crown Prince family.

Daniel attended on 30th January at a workshop with Generation Pep, IKEA and Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences. The workshop was held at IKEA in Älmhult.

The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences tells about the workshop:
Playful and creative workshop with Prince Daniel
What is the best way to arrive at good ideas and solutions, if not together? Therefore, IKEA employees, Generation Pep and the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences gathered to talk about the health of children and young people.
In order to create the conditions and commitment to children and young people's health, both good ideas and broad cooperation are required. All the participants agreed on when they gathered for a playful full day in Älmhult. At the workshop, Prince Daniel participated. IKEA is a proud founding partner of Generation Pep - an organization for which Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are the initiators.
In order that there would not be a full day with just too much sedentary, all participants got to warm up to "Head, shoulders, knees and toes" in the middle of sometimes cuddly animals and cribs at the exhibition at IKEA1.
During the afternoon, there was a focus on group work, and the creativity flowed and there became many Post it -notes. One of the groups provided various creative games at the dining table.
What has been the biggest asset from today's workshop?
- I really like this kind of creative processes. There is an incredible force in collaboration when we together share experiences. In our group we talked about, among other things, how we can make the dinner situation at home more fun, says Prince Daniel.
Per Nilsson, Rector of School of Sport and Health Sciences , says that collaborations like these are a prerequisite for being able to make a difference.
- It is very positive that IKEA and Generation Pep have been involved in our research collaboration, where together with responsible Swedish companies and non-profit organizations we develop new knowledge about the connections between physical activity, diet and healthy brain functions.

Folktandvården cooperates with Generation Pep for a better public health
Folktandvården (the Swedish Public Dental Service) takes another step in the fight against caries. Through a collaboration with Generation Pep, Folktandvården wants to get help from preschools and schools to show how fun it can be to brush your teeth.
- Many parents have discovered that Folktandvården's app Rocka munnen makes toothbrushing easier and more fun. Now we hope that preschools and schools will also take the opportunity to use the app to teach the children how to keep their mouth healthy. The children will benefit from this their whole life, says Eva Ljung, CEO of Folktandvården Stockholm.
The Crown Princess Couple is the initiator of Generation Pep and together with Karolinska Institutet and the Public Health Agency, Generation Pep works to create a popular movement for a more equal health for children and young people.
To reach out to more children and young people with their health message, Folktandvården has therefore joined the Generation Pep.
- We look forward to joining Generation Pep's network to reach out with our message even broader and in a new way adapted to children's and young people's media habits. Preschools and schools can now download our game app Rocka Munnen via Generation Pep's toolbox. With the game, it becomes both exciting and fun to manage your oral health, something that many parents have told and confirmed, says Eva Ljung.
Many - both children and parents - find that tooth brushing has become easier to implement with the help of Rocka Munnen. So far, the app has been downloaded to 85,000 users, and the hope is that even more will start using it.
About Rocka Munnen
Rocka Munnen has been produced by Folktandvården, a collaboration forum for all the nation's dental care organizations. The app contains a game mode and a concert mode with video and timer included during the toothbrushing. Launched in May 2018.

Generation Pep & Social Zense want to improve the health of younger people
From today, Social Zense is a part of Generation Pep's network to digitally advocate, disseminate knowledge and commitment to children and young people's health.
Generation Pep is a non-profit organization that was launched by Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel.
The organization works to spread knowledge and create commitment to children and adolescents' health. The goal is to unite people, organizations and companies to make it easier for all children and young people to live a healthy life.
"The work that Generation Pep does, we think is of tremendous importance. Hence we are very proud to be involved in developing and improving their digital channels, to advocate how we can all engage and enable more people to live a healthy life". - Sanna Norén, Founder of Social Zense
"Every day we see very clearly how the world is becoming increasingly digital, at all ages. Something that makes the screen time of young people increase. In our work with Generation Pep we look to reach out to young people and parents to spread information, commitment and knowledge about how important it is with children's physical health" - Mattias Persson, CEO Social Zense

Last week, Mattias Svenson, project manager at Generation Pep, met Föreningsvän Association and talked about how associations in Sweden can contribute to promoting healthy and sustainable living habits.
The Crown Princess couple behind a new venture for young people's active everyday life
Today we are many who worry about children and young people's physical health. Screen time, sedentary and goodies compete slowly but surely out sports and activities. The trend must be stopped immediately. Generation Pep is a non-profit organization that works to create commitment and disseminate information about the physical health of children and young people. We have talked to Mattias Svenson, project manager at Generation Pep, about how associations in Sweden can help to stop the trend and how we can jointly create sustainable habits.
Generation Pep was started on the initiative of the Crown Princess couple with the goal of creating a popular movement for more physical activity, more healthy eating habits and more equal health for children. They try to involve forces, from different parts of society, who want to get involved in their issues.
- Today we work in three ways in parallel, one can say. Firstly, we work with different types of campaigns and projects to ensure that our issues are lifted on the agenda and get more focus in the public debate. Furthermore, we work with specific initiatives where we target a specific area that we want to change. Finally, we also work with our network of Peppare, says Mattias Svenson, project manager at Generation Pep.
"Peppare" is a concept for everyone who shares the organisation's vision and who wants to contribute to change. It can be anything from authorities, real estate companies, private enthusiasts and, not least, associations.

Generation Pep works to ensure that all children and young people in Sweden have the opportunity and the desire to live an active and healthy life. Generation Pep with the Crown Princess Couple as initiator has, among other things, designed a digital aid for schools regarding movement and healthy eating habits and built up an inspirational bank.

Press release from Generation Pep
The Crown Princess visits a school connected to Pep School
Sweden is one of Europe's most sedentary countries and few children and young people come up in the recommended amount of physical activity every day. Also, when it comes to the recommended amount of fruit and vegetables, children and young people are advised. The school has a unique opportunity to make efforts that promote the physical health of children and young people and where the efforts reach all children. For this reason, Generation Pep, which the Crown Princess Couple is the initiator of, has for almost a year been running a work aimed at schools called Pep Skola (Pep School).
- The purpose of Pep School is to create more active and enjoyable school days, healthy nutritional intake for the students, better conditions for learning and better conditions for the students' participation, says Carolina Klüft, Managing director of Generation Pep.
The tool is available for everyone and is completely free to use.
During the Crown Princess's province hike in Härjedalen, the Crown Princess visits Vemdalen's school, a school that among other things uses the Pep School tool in its activities. During the visit, the Crown Princess will, among other things, participate in one of the school's movement breaks.

The Crown Princess couple visited The Good Talents in Botkyrka

On Tuesday, April 2, the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel visited the project The Good Talents, which offers youth education and workshops in leadership and entrepreneurship.
The Crown Princess couple were welcomed by Sandra Kinnaman Nordström and Gayathri Rathinavelu who are the founders of The Good Talents. They started the concept in 2012 because they saw a need to strengthen young people and give them tools to drive positive change processes in their lives and in society.
Today, The Good Talents is located in Botkyrka and Nacka and has since 2014 offered a one-year development program that a total of about 240 young people have gone. The program includes four study weekends where young people get knowledge and tools to implement a societal change idea. Then they will participate in a competition and present their ideas to a jury. As a further development, the young people get a mentor from the business community, civil society or the public sector who support them to develop their ideas for another term.
During the visit, the Crown Princess couple also met and talked to eight young people who had attended the one-year development program. They talked about their backgrounds, what they do today and how the Good Talent developed them.

Victoria and Daniel attend tomorrow at the launch of the first Pep-rapporten (Pep Report) at Norrsken House, where the office of Generation Pep is.

On April 3rd at 08.00, Generation Pep organizes a press breakfast for journalists, where we release the figures from the Pep Report 2019.
Only press is welcome at this event.
Participants:
Carolina Klüft, Managing Director, Generation Pep
Marie Löf, Karolinska Institutet (Research Master)
Anette Jansson, Heart-Lung Foundation
Gisela Nyberg, The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences & Karolinska Institutet

In the autumn 2018, the Pep Report was conducted for the first time, a scientific survey that maps health habits linked to food and physical activity in children and young people. The purpose of the study is to increase knowledge about how health conditions look like for children and young people around the country. The survey was sent to 29,000 children between 4-17 years who were randomly selected to participate. Over 11,000 children and young people participated in the survey.
Generation Pep conducted the survey in collaboration with Karolinska Institutet and the SOM Institute at the University of Gothenburg. Linked to the survey, there is an advisory group consisting of representatives from Gothenburg University, the Public Health Agency of Sweden, Karolinska Institutet and the National Food Agency.
The survey is funded by Generation Pep and is approved by the Regional Ethical Review Board in Stockholm.

Press release from Generation Pep
Today, Pep-rapporten 2019 (Pep report) is released, with the result of one of the most comprehensive reviews of children and young people's health in Sweden. The survey is unique in that more than 11,000 children with their custodians participated, but also because it is annually recurring.
In the Pep report 2019 we can see, among other things, that:
- Girls move less than boys and teenagers less than younger children.
- Only four out of ten children have indicated that they eat vegetables every day.
- A quarter of the children say they only have sports lessons once a week.
- More than every fifth 7-9 year olds sit three hours or more in front of the screen every day outside of class time.
- Children of active parents move more.
- That health in Sweden is not equal and that socio-economics, age and gender affect the health of children and young people.
The results from the report confirm that we are facing major challenges in achieving the public health policy goals. For society, the consequences of physical inactivity and unhealthy eating habits mean cost of many billions annually.

"Royal photo" is probably the correct expression. Today, the Pep report was released and @fredagsfysssverige was invited and in place. A very enjoyable evening and of course extra nice to have conversation with the Crown Princess couple (founder of GenPep) about our simple approach to getting children and young people more physically active and more sugar-smart

As sports minister, equal sports and children and young people's athletics are two of my heart issues. Therefore, it was very rewarding to participate today in the release of the Pep report 2019, together with, among others, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel and a host of engaging people from the sports movement, civil society, business, research and politics.
More than 11,000 children and their guardians have participated in the survey on which the Pep report is based. It has investigated children's and young people's sports, exercise and eating habits as well as how and what factors affect. The challenges are many, not least to get more children regardless of the background in motion, further up in the ages.
Many thanks to @gen.pep for an interesting report and for many good conversations and recordings for the continued and important work on equal sport and public health!.

The Pep report is one of the most comprehensive reviews of children and young people's health in Sweden. More than 11,000 children and their guardians have participated in the study, which is done with support from the Heart-Lung Foundation. See a brief feature with our honorary chairman H.R.H. Prince Daniel and general secretary Kristina Sparreljung - about the importance of research and adult role models.
Kristina Sparreljung at the video: It is fun, now we have together, Generation Pep and the Heart-Lung Foundation, released the Pep report. A very important report, we think. This is the first report we have done together. What does the prince think, what kind of role the research has, and Generation Pep?
Daniel: It is very important that we lean towards research and speak about things which are true and right and relevant, of course. That is why research is so important.
Kristina: This reports speaks also about good role models, that children need good role models, adult role models. How the prince is a role model at home ?
Daniel: I agree with you. I believe very much in the social work and the power of a good example. And I feel that our children have two parents who eat fruits and green and who go out jogging and go to the gym and who like to hike and take the children with them to the forests.

Carolina Klüft, the managing director of Generation Pep, was interviewed on Tuesday morning at TV4's Nyhetsmorgon about The Public Health Agency's new report "School children's health habits". She mentioned also Generation Pep's Pep School.

In this year's study, over 800 schoolchildren aged 11, 13 and 15 years have been able to estimate their physical activity during the last week - and the study shows that the participants were only physically active for ten percent of the time.
Carolina Klüft, gold medalist in Olympic Games and World Champion in heptathlon and now managing director for the organization Generation Pep, believes that this is a worrying trend.
- We know that physical movement is important and incredibly positive for various factors. We also know that it is very unequal, and it will prove both individually and in society in the longer term, she says in TV4's Nyhetsmorgon.

Now Sweden's first Pep Park is being built!
At the initiative of Generation Pep, the city of Solna and Fabege will work together to construct three activity parks - so-called Pep Parks - in Huvudsta, Arenastaden and Haga Park. The first Pep Park is planned to be ready for inauguration after the summer.
To increase accessibility to everyday exercise and give children, young people and adults an opportunity for activity and movement together, the concept Pep Parks has been prepared by Generation Pep in collaboration with the City of Solna and Fabege. Now the work on the first Pep Park has begun, and after the summer it is planned to be ready for inauguration in Huvudsta, Solna.
A Pep Park contains gear adapted for different ages and function variations and wants to stimulate spontaneous and planned activity, as well as develop mobility, coordination and other physical skills. A Pep Park also contains gym equipment for adults.
Nu byggs Sveriges första Pep Park! - Generation Pep

Solna gets its first Pep Park
The initiators of the non-profit organization Generation Pep and the concept of Pep Park live just a few kilometers away in Haga Palace. The Crown Princess Couple has been committed to especially that children and young people, but also adults should have the opportunity to live a healthy and active life.
- I met Prince Daniel a few years ago and he spoke warmly about this project, says mayor Pehr Granfalk.
And now it is time for Solna to get its first Pep Park at Huvudsta beach.
There is much that should fit in the slope.
In the southern part near the water is placed an outdoor gym, further up the path there should be a small garden with strawberries and other useful berries. In the garden is also placed a small obstacle course for the youngest.
In the central parts of the park, among other things, there should be trampoline, ping-pong table, climbing wall and a dance track.
The park will also work in winter with a toboggan slide running parallel to the park.
- The idea is that several generations should be able to activate themselves together, says Pehr Granfalk.
Solna city grants the land and Fabege is responsible for planning and construction work.
The park should be accessible and illuminated around the clock.
Solna får sin första Pep Park

I guess we see Daniel inaugurate the Pep Park when it is ready.

Generation Pep and Capio initiate collaboration to teach healthy habits via BVC
Generation Pep starts a partnership with Capio to give children the best conditions for living a healthy and active life as early as possible in life. Capio Närsjukvård will develop an open model for how within the BVC can teach good and healthy food and movement pathways to reduce the proportion of children affected by ill health.
Generation Pep and Capio share the view of the importance of preventive measures as early as possible in life, to give children and young people the best conditions for living a healthy and active life. The purpose of the initiative is to teach good and healthy diets and movement paths as early as possible within the framework of the activities at the Child Care Centers (BVC) in order to reduce the number of children affected by ill-health, for example obesity. By developing a working model for short-term care and BVC, BVC nurses can systematically communicate the importance of movement and healthy eating to children and their parents. The collaboration means that the model developed by Capio Närsjukvård becomes an open model that all actors in Sweden can take part of and which can develop further over time.
- Healthy habits are founded early in life, and together with Capio, we can find a model for how the BVC can support parents to give their children a good start, so it is very worthwhile - both for the individual and for our entire society, says Carolina Klüft, Managing Director at Generation Pep.

Press release from Generation Pep

Pep Dag (Pep Day) in Haga Park with Prince Daniel's Race 2019
Sunday September 8 at 11 am to 15 pm families are welcomed to Pep Day in Haga Park. Children born 2007–2013 can run Prince Daniel's Race where all participants are winners and receive medals. The same day, Hagaloppet is also arranged for older children and adults.
Sweden is one of Europe's most sedentary countries and the proportion of children who reach the recommended amount of physical activity, one hour per day, is small. Physical inactivity leads to a number of negative health effects. More people therefore need to understand and realize the importance of how movement can contribute to a lifelong active and healthy life.
Generation Pep has therefore taken the initiative to create the concept Pep Day - days when movement pleasure and knowledge of a healthy life are in focus. The purpose is to give children and young people the opportunity to experience movement pleasure in various forms, from dance, play, outdoor life and sports, as well as to gain knowledge of movement and diet.

The Pep Day in Haga Park is arranged by Generation Pep, The Royal Court, The City of Solna and AIK Athletics.
Children born 2006–2012 can run Prince Daniel's Race where all participants are winners and receive medals. Registration for the race is now open. There are 1,500 starting places. Prince Daniel participates during the Pep Day in Haga Park and shares among other things medals for those who have run.
During the day there is also the opportunity to try out different activities, go tip round, and get inspiration and information for a healthier life with more movement.
All activities are free of charge.

Alla ska se! (Everyone shall see!) - All children with visual defects now get activity glasses
Alla ska se! is what the name says; all children should be able to do their sport, move or exercise unhindered on equal terms - regardless of visual defects. However, children with visual impairments are often limited, which is completely unnecessary. In a unique national initiative, free activity glasses are now given out to all children between five and twelve years with visual impairment, with the aim of making movement on equal terms, regardless of vision.
Behind the initiative is Generation Pep, the optician chain Synsam, the gglass supplier Essilor and Aller media.
Carolina Klüft, Managing Director at Generation Pep:
- I remember how I, as a child, sometimes felt limited in my sports practice because of my visual defect. Either I didn't want to wear the glasses or they went off because they didn't work for an active life. To now get out activity glasses, which are both stylish, functional and have a quality glass, is absolutely fantastic! I am extremely proud that Generation Pep can contribute to this very important initiative.
Håkan Lundstedt, Ceo and President of Synsam Group Sweden
- The activity glasses and the initiative Alla ska se! is a dream come true for me and Synsam's employees. It warms the heart that we can contribute to children's movement and well-being. I am very proud that we, together with our partners, take this extensive responsibility for children's vision health, so that everyone can really participate on equal terms.
