I really do not understand all the harsh and judgemental posts about Beatrice. She may not be "needed" but she is certainly "wanted" just as much as William and Harry. She is as much her grandmother and grandfather's child as any other.
She is in the fortunate situation whereby she doesn't have to punch a card, nine to five, five days a week. That in itself seems to be cause for much of the self-righteous sniping about her work ethic merely being a cover for a jealous streak a mile wide. Even the Middleton children didn't seem to need a nine to five job and their parents are perhaps not quite as wealthy as the royals, so it is not uncommon to look around to find your own niche.
The most important thing is that Princes Beatrice is just that, a princess and she is entitled to her rank.
She is not falling out of clubs drunk, but she is leaving at the same times as many others after a night out. That does not give the BRF bad PR and for those who think she should never work for the BRF, I fail to see how someone who does not work for it should bring bad PR to it.
She is a private citizen and does not need to tell us anything about her plans or her future. Her cousin William certainly didn't when he left the RAF, so why should she? Just because we don't know what she's doing does not invalidate any charity work she is doing, that is just bizarre. Further, this sort of oblique threat, "if you don't tell us every little thing about your personal life we are going to start calling you nasty names big time" has got to be one of the weirdest threats/promises I have seen written about her.
