Ernst August III? Kind of hoping not but would not be surprised. I assume his full name will be revealed at his baptism like his sister. Elisabeth like other members of her family takes her middle names from her godmothers.

So I guess it was confirmed that Welf August is indeed the little prince's name - and a very traditional Hanoverian one at that! Little Elisabeth has grown up so much.

Welf is an unusual choice of the name.

Unexpected compared to Ernst which people suspected, but not shocking. Its a family name. It is among Christian's names.

Their grandfather's youngest brother was Welf Henry of Hannover. Another of his siblings George William's eldest son was Welf Ernst. They are descendents of the House of Welf.

I would venture that the baby has Julio among his names. The family has continued the tradition of using the names of godparents as middle names. Julio Santo Domingo III (Tatiana's brother) is the only named godfather.

She is beautiful but it says a lot about Madrid that I would not notice her at all if I see her on the streets especially in the summer. She fits in well. Her whole aesthetic and vibe and look is very Madrileña.
