Yesterday, October 5, King Philippe met with Second Lieutenant Career Officer Candidate Corneel Waterschoot who had received the Sword of the King at the opening of the academic year.

The King's Sword is the most prestigious award given to the most deserving officer-student of the Royal Military Academy.

Today, October 25, King Philippe received a group of young people who had made a trip through Corsica in August. The Flemish Minister of Youth was present as well:

I love the fact that the King himself read aloud to the children, in this and other royal houses it's usually the Queen or a (Crown) Princess who participates in such events. It emphasizes the role and importance of fathers and men in the education of children..

Also in Belgium it is usually the Queen who comes to read aloud.
But because this year the theme of the event is 'reading aloud dads', it seemed the people who organised it a good idea to ask the King himself this year.
And he liked to come. Good for him. Top.:flowers:

King Philippe met with the President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid today, November 22, received two final year classes of the Immaculata Institute in Oostmalle and the Institut St-Joseph in Libramont, both involved in an exchange programme of the Prince Philippe Fund and he received the Ambassadors of Andorra, Sao Tome-en-Principe, Guinea Bissau and Tuvalu.

This is great! I really hope this is not a one-time thing, but every once in a while children should be invited to the palace to receive a lesson from the king himself.
