Why was the Swan lake set sold? Did it belong to Diana or to the RF? if to Diana, did W and Harry sell it?
I don't believe she ever owned the Swan Lake set. In fact, she didn't wear the entire set, just the necklace.

Thats right, she never owned the Swan Lake necklace, she merely borrowed it from the jeweller and wore it on one ocassion. I have no idea why she borrowed it, but it may have been, IMO, as she adjusted to her status of no longer being a member of the BRF.
Yes that was explained.. I was just puzzled why if it was part of her own jewellery collection, why it was sold.. but obviously it did not belong to her at all. Im not really sure why it was in the article.. as it wasn't actually HER necklace..
I was aslo as I've said a bit surprised by the article sayng that she liked emeralds.. as I have seen it in a book that she didn't like them.. Perhaps she was superstitious about them as some people are.. She did wear emeralds but only occasionally when she wore very grand dresses of green. I think Sapphires and pearls were her favourites.
That's my understanding as well. Diana intended to purchase the set but since the set was not finished she had not paid for the set so the jeweler still owned the set.It was either Majesty or Royalty magazine that said that Diana commissioned the Swan Lake pearl necklace and earrings from the jeweller. The set wasn't finished - still making the earrings so they lent the princess the necklace for that evening. The whole set was not paid for. So the jeweller still owned the set and were perfectly in their right to sell.
Why should Kate get the Sapphire choker?
Why should she not get it?
Why should Kate get the Sapphire choker?
Why should Kate get the Sapphire choker?
Because she is not the only daughter in law. I think some of you guys think because its a big and famous piece it should go to Kate. That's unfair.
Well, if Kate does get the majority of Diana's jewels that will go directly against the spirit of how Diana directed her jewellery be distributed. Plus, because Kate will get access to the vaults as Queen consort, doesn't mean getting everything else as well along the way.
IMO, that large sapphire choker is not in Meghan's style or taste! She favors small, simple jewels and that choker is the complete opposite to Meghan's asthetic.
Oh I think Meghan has plenty of 'presence' and I also believe that Diana would not have wanted one daughter in law to be placed above another.
Her jewellery should be shared in a fair way not according to Royal precedence.
If Diana, whose jewels they were, would have wanted her older son's wife to have got the lion's share or the more valuable pieces, then she would have said so in her will. Why should Harry's wife be left with the scraps?
It may even be possible that both Kate and Meghan couldn't give a hoot about what's in Diana's private jewelry box and neither of them care for the pieces that Diana wore back then.
I just don't see them making a big deal out of who gets what. The pieces that we have seen these ladies wear, they have made their own such as Diana's engagement ring that is Kate's and Diana's aquamarine ring that is Meghan's.
