Here you can vote for your favourite gown of Diana, Princess of Wales.
Details of the gowns are given in the next post. Diana wore some of the gowns for several times, so only the date of the first appearance in the given gown is listed.

Please, specify why do you like the gown and what are your reasons to vote for it, rather then saying I'm voting for X or Y.

Other The Blue Swan Lake Dress
Blue looked lovely on the Princess and it was short and showed Diana's long legs.

My favorite dress is Gold lame evening gown first worn at the James Bond premiere

My personal favorite was the short black dress with the trailing sash she wore the night Charles went on TV as part of the Dimbleby book. People magazine called it her 'Screw you, Charles dress'. Her legs went on for days.

I know exactly the one ! Here's the pic. She looks tremendous !

That dress showed the world what Charles left Diana for. I wonder how much that dress is worth now?

On this website, go to Lot 2.
It says :

Black silk crepe cocktail dress with
asymmetric ruched bodice & side sash.
Designer: Christina Stambolian
Price Raised: $74,000

My personal favorite was always is called here "the Elvis Dress" She looked so regal and really like a queen rather than a princess.

A close second for me would be the pale blue chiffon dress. Its so pretty and elegant. Diana looked so stunning in it, just like you would picture a Princess in a story book. :flowers:

Definately ! Elvis was the King so she was the Queen definition ;)

i love the blue chiffon, its timelessly elegant and a beautiful color on her. anyone could put it on today and look beautiful, some of the others look very dated "80" bigger is better looks. one of my favorites isn't here, the green silk she wore in Australia with her necklace as a tiara. i couldn't find a photo to link.

I see the one you're talking about. Beautiful indeed : Corbis: photography, rights, assignment, motion.

thank you TheTruth, it's as pretty as i remembered and with my favorite-emeralds

It's hard to say--she looked lovely in so many of her gowns. I really liked her earlier looks a lot--
I loved this green gown for her formal engagement photos with the diamond jewellery lent by Collingwood Jewelers--

I also like this gown, http://www.royal.gov.uk/files/images/Insight_apr06_mailbox_diana.gif

Maybe I like the earlier gowns because that's when she just looked like she was in love. I don't care any of her one armed gowns.

Every evening gown that Diana wore was stunning but this one was my absolute favorite. She looked amazing, she was confident, happy and out there and (I would kill for those legs.):flowers:

She looked stunning in all. Some I like better than others, but they are all beautiful. The burgundy gown is lovely, as is the "Elvis" creation. The gold lame is just eyecatching. I least like that red and black print. Just my opinion.

So many pretty ones to choose from. It was hard to choose just one. One of my favorites from way back when though won out. I had the opportunity to see the Dresses for Humanity Tour years ago and see many of the dresses from the auction up close. One of them--I think it was the burgundy velvet one? had a tiny hand print on the dress. You can just imagine maybe Harry came up to her and left the mark on the dress all those years ago?

Incidently, Dress B ( the Travolta dress) is not black. It is a very dark navy almost midnight blue.:flowers:

Lovely work Avalon, thanks;)
There are a few dress's that ive not seen beofre which are lovely for ex the red beaded dress & the gold lame dress.

Thanks you dazzling, although the full credit goes to TheTruth, who has found the pictures and the sources. I've just put everything together. :)

The other gown I thought was fantastic was the one exactly like the one Grace Kelly wore in 'To Catch a Theif' white chiffon strapless 'greek goddess' floor length gown with a chifon scarf at the throat. I cant remember where Diana wore it, but it was one of my very favorites.

I have to go with the pale blue chiffon one too it's timeless, beautiful, elegant but simple.

I'll have to go with the pale blue chiffon dress too. My second favorite is the black velvet gown.:flowers:
