As such, they may find 'scheduling conflicts' regardless of what date is chosen.
CP is 3rd in line of succession after Victoria and Estelle. Madeleine is below her brother in the line of succession and there was a large showing for her wedding. As for Sofia's "personal history", if she's good enough for the SRF, she's good enough for other royal families. The DRF isn't narrow-minded (at least the vast majority isn't, can't speak for Joachim), I don't think they give a hoot about Sofia's past as a reality star. CP is QMII's godson, she will definitely be there – and so will Frederik and Mary. I think you will find that most, if not all, royal families will be able to cope with the fact that the bride is a former reality star.

I think that might be the reason too, actually...

PM me for more info - I am being coy on purpose.
Hehe, me, too ....

I am 100% sure, that all Nordic RFs are sending their CPs and Princesses, as the ties with the RFs are quite Close.
Also I do not know, who is the royal godfather/godmother of CP, but as he was Crown Prince at least for a short time, there surely exists one Reigning Monarch (maybe Queen Margarethe?).... who definately will join...

I think there will be all the royal families attending the wedding, in the past, the royal families came for the wedding of crown prince Haakon with Mett Maritt(she was a single mother) and also for the wedding of prince Felipe and Letizia who was a divorced woman.

Even in the conservativ royal families such as Spain (Letizia being a divorced woman? You remember?). I'm sure if there is royalty invited there will be royalty showing up and not provoking a scandal like a lot of anonymous users of sommunities hope for.
Letizia being divorced, Mette-Marit having a questionable (drug) past and mother of a illegitime child, Maxima with the Regime Past of her father, and we can continue the list..... it was even an issue with the "previous Generation". i.e. Queen Silvia and Queen Sonja being non-royal....

So simply everything changed with the Engagement announcement and the "approval" from the King....

This is why they all will come. Not the first, but the second row of Royals.

CP's godparents are/were: Prince Bertil, Duke of Halland; Princess Birgitta of Sweden; Queen Margrethe II of Denmark; and Prince Leopold of Bavaria.

So one can definitely expect full attendance from the DRF.

But we must take into consideration that Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit as well as the then Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia are and were heir apparents, whereas Prince Carl Philip is third in the line of succession. Therefore, I would naturally expect a smaller event for him and foreign royals to attend the weddings of royals who are more immediate in the line of succession, like Crown Prince Haakon. As some other royals attended Madeleine and Chris's wedding (Victoria is an exception as she is the Crown Princess), I do expect them to attend Carl Philip and Sofia's wedding too. But, I would only expect attendances from the Scandinavian royals, as well as some of the Bavarian royals and members of the House of Saxe-Coburg Gotha, as I do believe the Prince is quite close to the SRF.

I wonder why they haven't officially announced the date if they already know it. It does seem rather strange to me. Do we know when the dates for Victoria and Madeleine's weddings were announced?

We don't know what other Royals may think privately about Sofia, and they'll make sure that the public won't find out. We can speculate as much as we want and not get any closer to the truth. But whatever they privately think, they won't offend and embarras their friends, the King and Queen of Sweden.

There might well be some Royals who can't make it because of other obligations. The Spanish King and Queen eg. might not come because of the difficult situation of their country and their monarchy. Charlene might prefer not to travel with the new-born twins, in Denmark one of them has to stay behind and act as regent, etc. But I'm pretty sure that many Royals will show up.

I expect the size of the wedding to be pretty much like Madeleine's, who had a good number of Royal guests.

It has been told in this thread before that:
Victoria and Daniel got engaged on 24th February 2009, and the wedding date and place were told at a press release on 23rd March.
Madeleine and Chris got engaged on 25th October 2012, and the wedding date and place were told at a press release on 23rd December.

^^^^^ funny how you (ladyfinn) see it as this "special treatment" of P.C-P and Sofia as a privilige or advantage over how his sisters were treated
I actually saw it differently: maybe P.C-P had rushed his engagement announcement for some reason and already knew that his wedding date would be in june or may, and now the Palace (or government) told the couple that the date announcement is to occur at most 3 or 4 months before the wedding (just like it happened for his sisters) and P.C-P and Sofia are to comply with that whether they like it or not

ofcourse very much imo only

Victoria and Daniel announced their wedding date on 23rd March 2009, one year and 3 months before their wedding...

Dont both of his sisters have children who would be in front of CP?

Also, theres a big difference between Letezia being divorced and there being video of her french kissing a porn star or being Miss Slitz. You cant really compare the two.

So you believe you will see for example Charles and Camilla, and Hakon and MM there for sure. I'll put up $1 on that bet! ;-P

Why on earth would Leonore be in front of CP and Madeleine?

The line of succession to the Swedish throne:
1. Victoria
2. Estelle
3. Carl Philip
4. Madeleine
5. Leonore

Well, seeing as Charles and Camilla didn't attend Victoria's wedding, I think it would be a bit too much to hope for an attendance from them. Edward and Sophie attended Madeleine's wedding, so I am sure they will be the ones to represent HM at CP's wedding. As for Haakon and MM, naturally they will be there.

I think we will see the same royals who attended Madeleine's wedding to attend Carl and Sophia's wedding. I would also hope that none of the other royal families would look down on Sophia , none of them have all perfect family history's.

Do you believe that Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and Sophie, Countess of Wessex will attend Prince Carl Philip and Sofia's wedding?

I think so. They're usually the ones that represent the Queen at these kind of functions.

Edward and Sophie usually attend royal weddings of heirs or heiresses apparent, so I don't think they will attend Carl Philip and Sofia's wedding, though it would be nice if they did. IIRC they weren't present at Madeleine and Chris's wedding.

That's possible. But by the second tier I took it to mean Tier 1 the King/Queen and Spouse, Tier 2 The crown Prince/ss and Spouse, Tier 3 The eldest child or younger sibling of the the crown prince/ss. If one is hoping for Edward and Sophie he is, what 7th in the sucession? He's pretty far down the food chain too.

I don't really think it matters how far down the line of succession Edward is. For many years, Edward and Sophie have been the only BRF couple relatively close in age to the Crown Princely (and Crown Princessly) couples in Europe. Alas it seems more logical to send them than to send e.g. Charles or Anne.

Edward and Sophie most certainly attended Madeleine and Christopher's wedding. They actually arrived with Princess Charlène (perhaps a hint of their closeness? I would love to see Sophie as godmother of one of the twins).

Seeing as Madeleine is further down the line of succession than CP, I think it's relatively safe to assume that Edward and Sophie will attend CP and Sofia's wedding as well.

Then i will drop the subject because then i *really* don't understand why you keep comparing the three couples

On another note: for some reason i have a feeling that there might be a new batch of royal repesentatives as guest: for instance P.Beatrice for the BRF?
From the dutch RF i think it might be P.Constantijn or P.Maurits.

Princess Beatrice would be WAY further down than 'the second tier royals'. 4 th tier maybe.
