Separatists to protest visit by Prince Charles
Royal visit to Quebec by Prince Charles in November will be met with resistance, says a separatist group. In a letter published Monday in the newspaper Le Quebecois, Patrick Bourgeois, president of Reseau de resistance du Quebecois, wrote that Prince Charles' trip with his wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles, "puts a finger in the eye" of the province's people and history. |

The Prince and Duchess are warned not to visit Quebec. I'm surprised they are still planning on going, but really - good for them. They shouldn't be afraid or not want the bad publicity.

That'll work! Thanks!
![]() Though this news about Monsieur Pierre has me concerned. Can't they PEACEFULLY protest? When they promise "fireworks" well that just blows their credibility as being legit IMO.

1) They didn't include the results for 18 to 24 year olds (previous polls have shown that surprisingly 18 to 30 years olds have the highest support for monarchy) 2) Polls relating to the monarchy in Canada are naturally skewed because of Quebec where the vast majority of the population is anti-monarchy. That being said, the actual concern is that the majority of Canadians don't know how the government works in this country. There is total apathy with all our national institutions. |

Or else people pick up ideas about government and the law from American dramas and assume that it's the same here.
