Thanks PrincessDianafan for the fabulous pictures! And what a wonderful story - to think that she remembered you from an earlier engagement. I'm sure that is a memory that you will treasure for the rest of your life! :)
Thank you Yennie! I'm really glad that you enjoyed the pictures.
They were published in a Canadian newspaper, The Ottawa Citizen in an article by Rosa Monckton titled "Love brings you to my heart: a celebration of a treasured friendship". The article was originally published in England's The Sunday Telegraph.
You're right, pictures from their holiday together are pretty rare, and Rosa writes that Diana told her it was the longest she had ever been abroad without being discovered by the press! Only once were they discovered, when a tourist in a Cafe recognized Diana and snapped her picture (see attached photo). It was on the front pages the next day. But other than that it was a undisturbed holiday and Rosa says that they were even able to attend a regular Sunday Church service in a small Greek village without being bothered.
The woman in the picture with Diana at dinner is Rosa Monckton. The men in the other picture are unidentified other than to say that they are members of the crew of the yacht.
Ok, I see! I had seen the paparazzi photo of them in Greece before (but never in colour, so thanks for that to :) ) but there hasn´t been much "news" about that cruise.
I´m glad that Diana had a peaceful cruise with her friend. It must have been awful to be followed all the time...
