There will be official photographers inside the Grand Hotel to take photos of the guests arriving.
I think both Aftonbladet and Expressen will have a Live-TV outside the Grand Hotel, we have an own thread to the dinner.

The king, queen, Victoria and Carl Philip were today at the Royal Palace and the Royal Chapel at the rehearsal. Carl Philip arrived very late, he came from the Solvalla motor track where he and the king were watching the test session of STCC. The king and Daniel have not been seen there, and not Sofia Hellqvist.

Why would anyone expect Madeleine to invite her sisters in laws to her wedding? The Westlings are not members of the SRF and are not related to either Madeleine or Chris. Honestly it looks like people are looking to make problems out of thin air.

Daniel's sister Anna Westling Söderström and her husband are invited. Most of the royal experts were sure earlier, the Olle and Ewa Westling will be invited, because they are the parents of a member of the Royal Family.

And to me. There doesn't seem to be any real reason to be so negative about this couple apart from the fact he is not Swedish, Noble, or Swedish speaking; not taking any money; not taking a title and plans to continue their lives together in the US. Oh yes, and he doesn't smile a lot.

Thank you! Now is just wait. I'm watching Tennis Semi-final Djokovi VS Nadal, so it helps the time goes faster.

First: I truly hope that this couple is happy together and has a long and happy marriage.

Second: I agree that no one outside of a relationship can really know what goes on between a couple, and yes, I know a lot of people who are happy together but I look at them and wonder "what on earth makes that one work?" and yet it does.

Third: Chris O'Neill may well be the type of quiet, reserved man who does not bubble over with happiness in public. In the engagement pictures he certainly looked very stolid -- compared to the engagement pictures of William and Kate, for instance.

Fourth: I'm not too fussed about who does the wedding dress; Queen Maxima of the Netherlands also had Valentino do her dress and it was beautiful for her and perfect for the occasion.

Now. Having said all that, I am certainly entitled to my own reactions and impressions and to me Chris looks like a very tough cookie -- American slang for somebody who's demanding and wants everything on their own terms. I get that feeling from the pictures of him with Madeleine and the royal family, as if he calls the tune in their entire relationship. In the pictures I saw of him at Swedish National Day he looked like he not only didn't want to be there himself, but didn't get why anybody was bothering with it. Most of us who are not master-of-the-universe hedge-fund managers are expected, when we don't want to attend a party but have to anyway, to make nice and enjoy ourselves.

the language issue bugs me, too. Sure, we Yanks love our own language, but jeez, if you're marrying somebody who comes from another country wouldn't you want to make some effort to learn their language? At least a little bit of it?

I hope it works out for them both, I really do, but I can certainly see having some misgivings.

Some of the guests told to Svensk Damtidning what they are going to wear at the wedding:

Vicky Andrén, the fiancée of Gustaf Magnuson
- she is wearing a dress designed by Lars Wallin. He has designed 8 dresses to the wedding (some of them are Madeleine’s friends and some the king’s and queen’s)
Countess Marianne Bernadotte
- Because I have loaned all my gala dresses to the summer exhibition “Haute Couture från Paris” in the Östergötlands Museum, I’m going probably loan a dress from Fadi el Khoury
Ylwa Westerberg, the wife of the Speaker of the Parliament
- I’m going to have a powder rose dress from Milagro de Nahrin. It has bare shoulders. The dress has feathers and sequins. That’s is why I have only a little jewellery. I haven’t chosen the shoes yet, they should be both beautiful and good to wear.
Princess Birgitta
- I have had a dress chosen from January. It has been sewn here in Mallorca, but I’m not going to tell how it looks, it shall be a surprise
Countess Gunnila Bernadotte
- I will wear the dress I had the day before Victoria’s and Daniel’s wedding at the dinner and concert. It is done by Thalia. It is grey silk with an overlay of red and grey flowers
Frida Bergström, the fiancée of Victor Magnuson
- I’m just trying to choose. I have appropriate dresses: a long champagne coloured from Malene Birger, a grey one from Malina, or perhaps a cerise one…
Barbro Holmberg, the governor of the Gävleborg County
- I have been invited only to the church, so I chose a short silvery dress, and a cobalt coloured hat.
Nina Eldh, the former director of the press department
- I have been invited only to the church, I will have a dress of a shade of green, with a magnolia coloured coat, and a coiffé from the best modist in Skåne, Huvudsaken in Skillinge.

Well, all we know yet is that Chris will make his vow in his own language.
This doesn't necessarily mean that he will not make any effort to learn the language or say a little bit in Swedish at some point during the wedding, perhaps during his speech. Let's wait and see. Why are people always so quick in critizising?

The police will help singer Peter Jöback with a police car or motorcycle to get right after the wedding service from the Royal Palace to Arlanda Airport. Peter will sing at the Tony Awards the title song of the Phantom of the Opera on Sunday.
Polisen hjälper stjärnan efter vigseln Nyheter Aftonbladet

It could be that also from this will come some negative comments, to use a police to escort a singer who performs at a royal wedding...

But Silvia's family are uncles, cousins, etc. of the bride. That's a different case, imo.

Apparantly a part of the wedding will take place in English, with Madeleine saying "Ja" at the altar and Chris O'Neil saying: "I do".

It may be a small detail in a nice marriage, that will hopefully last a lifetime, but I don't think it's elegantly handled and I would like to hit Chris O'Neil on the head with a shovel.

Good greif, the man is marrying a genuine Princess from a genuine monarchy, - in Sweden on top of that! Is it really too much to ask that he respects the Swedes by at least learning to say one word in Swedish? It's pronounced like Ya in Ya'll. Surely he can learn that.

He may not give a hoot about royalty, and he may roll in money and he may be an important man in his own right but he is marrying a princess, and princesses are public property of their countries.
Sorry, it's not elegant and it's not a good way to endear himself to the Swedes.
IMO , there's is nothing wrong with saying your wedding vows in your native language - I suppose that it probably feels more real this way and sounds more honest and genuine ( anyway I don't know how wedding vows should sound, we Greeks just shut up during the whole religious wedding service ). But even if it is perceived as an insult to the Swedes he is not the one at fault. True , he probably doesn't care at all, or cares very little about the Swedish monarchy, the public perception, protocolls and all that stuff and that is fine. He is just an American why should he care? He wasn't raised to appreciate the Swedish Monarchy. But Madeleine was and if anyone should be blamed it's solely her. She is the one who was raised a Princess. She is the one who should care about the public perception. She is the one who is set on a different standar. And , honestly, she is the one who should ensure that the man she would choose would act accordingly - so if Chris O'Neill is not what Sweden's people expected, it's her fault because she either didn' t care from the beggining about finding a "proper consort' or she simply decided to dismiss those criterias completely

I didn't see Elisabeth Zimmermann's name at the official guest list, but maybe those who work for the royal family aren't there.
Couldn't agree more, i think Ternert needs to learn whento say no comment. Instead he goes into great detail and depth whilst at the same time making the situation worse.

I think its perfectly reasonable that olle and Ewa may want to look after Estelle on the wedding day or the night before, though I'm sure they have a good relatiosnhip with the Crown Princess family i'm sure like most grandparents they love anexcuse to be with their grandchild. What would you pick, your daughter in laws sisters wedding or looking after your grandchild??

Didn't think of it that way. You may have a point. Personally, I don't think Madeleine cares. She's a Princess, found a well off husband and will be living in NY.

If you look at the Swedish Kings siblings, they do not do much official stuff. Why would anyone expect Victoria's sibling to do much official work. I personally think Maddie and Chris will live in NY and drift further and further away from royal life. She could see the future and chose for herself what she wanted.

Totally agree. There does not seem to be a need in Sweden for anyone other than the monarchs and the heir & spouse to perform engagements and represent the nation on a regular basis. CP does not seem to have a very burdensome schedule of engagements. Maddy has been living away for a couple of years now and Sweden has been ticking along quite nicely without Madeleines presence. As long as she is only funded by the state for official engagements she is quite entitled to live her life as she sees fit in NYC or elsewhere and marry whomever she wants.
I do think a private non televised wedding would have been better but I seem to recall reading that it was her father who wanted a bigger event.
