Very nice interview. No family feud and the family has welcomed and treat Sofia very well within the family. They see a future together and look very happy and in love.
I think it's beautiful to see the real thing and actually hear from the couple in expressing their love, friendship and sense of fun. Something you can't get from the other tabloid stories.
I don't think they have any reason to lie about anything. The media is known to make up feuds within these royal families. Of course, families have their differences from time to time (all families do) but I really think all is well.
I'm more willing to believe the words that's coming out of Carl Philip & Sofia's mouths than the tabloid fodder.
You misunderstood my post. What I meant was: do you think IF there is / would be, in fact, any type of feud going on within the family because of Sofia, would Carl Philip and Sofia openly said so in an interview?
Please note, I am NOT saying there is, I am NOT saying they lied. I am simply asking if the facts would be how the press describes them not how Carl Philip and Sofia presents them does anyone think Carl Philip and Sofia would state so?
I, for one, hardly doubt they would. But I may be wrong, that's why I was curious as to what others think.
Bloody Ava! How many interviews, quotes, facebook comments and whatnot do they want to give to the yellow press? I agree LadyFinn, it a very curious media strategy. I can't recall ANY other royal family doing such things, apart from Marie-Christine of Belgium, who was estranged from her family.
I am not sure how Bertil Tennert ever convinced the royal family that this is a wise media strategy, but IMHO the sooner he is sacked the better!
That's why I started wondering... I don't know how it really is, but it starts looking like they are pushing the idea of Sofia being accepted within the family and Madeleine almost sisterly loving her a bit too hard in my opinion. If there is no feud and if they really do not care about what the tabloids think, why another interview, over sweetened with sugar coat?
True, but on the other hand I can imagine the frustration of reading all the bad things about yourself and not being able/allowed to say something.

andI applaud the couple for standing up and letting everyone know that the tabloid stories are rubbish and everything is fine
I say, good for them for at least being frank and telling the media their truth.

Considering that Sofia is a soft porn model, whose only goal in life seems -to me- to become famous and marry rich, I think the Swedish press has actually been extremely nice to her. All these gossip stories make Sofia look like the poor victim and put Princess Madelaine in a bad light. Why the Swedish press choses this strategy is a mystery to me though.

Surely if she wanted to marry for money Sweden has better options than a Bernadotte. They are not exactly rolling in euros. Perhaps an NHL hockey player would have been a better choice if that was her concern and from the way people go on about her snake pics and the reality show she already seems to have had her own level of fame prior to CP.
Yes, she could have a richer husband than Carl Philip in an NHL-player. But not so much publicity and life in the limelight, if the NHL-player wants to live a very private life after his career. With a prince she can live her whole life in the limelight, she can use tiaras and other royal family jewellery and gets to meet other royal families in the world.
Or perhaps it as simple as two people met and fell in love.
If she was as much a schemer as some suggest surely CP and his family would have detected it after all this time. It is hard to keep up that kind of an act for long periods of time.

The sky isn't going to fall down or world end if Carl Philip decide to marry Sofia. It didn't happen when Charles married Camilla nor when Haakon married Mette-Marit. These royals now fall in love and marry who they think is best for them not what other people think is best for them.
It would be one thing if Carl Philip was as hard-working as a royal as Charles and Haakon are, unfortunately he seems to be more into car racing than being a royal. The negative image of Carl Philip here in Sweden is reflected in his choice of Sofia as his partner, and their efforts to push her as a "perfect" spouse down the throats of the Swedish people. I say, let them get married and live happy ever after, but not as HRH:s, if it's about true love and wanting to live together as husband and wife, why shouldn't they be as happy as plain Mr. and Mrs. Bernadotte? It's not as if Carl Philip would loose his personal fortune and the estate he inherited and will inherit, but he would be liberated from the pressure of being a prince and be able to pursue his hobbies the way he likes. The sky isn't going to fall down or world end if Carl Philip decide to marry Sofia.
