The presidential couple participates in the festival of Finland's 100th anniversary in Stockholm
President Sauli Niinistö and Mrs Jenni Haukio travel to Stockholm on Thursday, August 24, 2017 as part of the celebration of Finland's 100th anniversary. The visit begins with a lunch with King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia at the Royal Palace. From lunch, the presidential couple moves to Kungsträdgården in Stockholm where they participate in the inauguration of a city festival celebrating Finland's 100th anniversary. The STHLM / SUOMI festival lasts for three days and is the biggest event of the anniversary celebrations abroad.
President Niinistö and King Carl XVI Gustaf participate also in the jubilee seminar "Finland and Sweden, together towards the future" at the Embassy of Finland. Both the president and the king give a speech as an introduction to the business seminar.
Mrs. Haukio and Queen Silvia visit among other things Liljevalchs Art Hall's photo exhibition "Fokus Finland - 3 x Aho & Soldan" in a pavilion at Artillegården at the Army Museum. The exhibition honors Finland's 100th anniversary.
