The King proclaims his faith in the Spanish like language creator of spaces of convivence

MADRID. - The King has proclaimed, before an outstanding representation of the world of the Spanish letters, his "faith in the word" written and spoken in a language shared by million people and that he defined as "free, open and congregadora". A language, the one of Cervantes, that "us sister" and that, according to Don Juan Carlos, "widens our spirit". "Only it - insistio ' - can forge coexistence spaces and constitute itself in bastion of the creative freedom".
The Kings, accompanied by Princes de Asturias, offered a lunch in the Real Palace to a hundred of personalities of the Spanish letters, in the occasion of the east delivery Friday, in Alcala de Henares, of the Cervantes Prize 2005 to the Mexican writer Sergio Pitol.

Kings and Dukes of Palm preside 125 rotary anniversary.

The Kings Mr. Juan Carlos and Mrs Sofía, accompanied by the Dukes of Palm, there are prison today the acts of the 125 anniversary of The Vanguard, that have had as colophon a supper that has met to about a thousand personalities of the Spanish and Catalonian company.

During the speech that has pronounced before the supper, the King has indicated that 'the open character, moderate and compromised of The Vanguard he has been decisive to reach one of the main successes of his path: the complicity with his readers along so dilated period'.

According to the King Juan Carlos, this act of anniversary 'permits us also to underline the very prominent position that enjoys Barcelona in the panorama of the mass media of Spain and of Europe'.

The supper has been celebrated in the Oval room of the Palau National of Montjuic after the inauguration of the exposition that amuses the 125 years of the newspaper of Barcelona, that has been the duty of the Kings of Spain and the Dukes of Palm.

"Sir, is no photo", said the graphical reporters to His Majesty the King after they had not been able to catch the traditional image of the Royal Family next to the Cervantes prize. The furniture, plants and a lamp of the Real Palace interposed between the photographers and the space from which the Kings and Princes de Asturias were saluting to their guests and the Cervantes, Sergio Pitol.
After listening to the lamentations of the reporters, Don Juan Carlos I am interested ': "How you say". "That is no photo, Sir", repeated the journalists to him. Immediately, the King went to an assistant of Camera and I order ': "That brings to the awarded one" Sergio Pitol was immersed in some literary circle and right away he returned to integrate the photo of family next to Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofía and to Don Felipe and Doña Letizia. The gesture of generosity and affection of the King towards the reporters long was thanked for.

The King and Queen of Spain presided last night over the great celebration organized by the Count of Godó, in the National Palau of Montjuïc, on the occasion of La Vanguardia’s 125th anniversary.
Along with the monarchs, also the Dukes of Palma attended the ceremony, very close to one another, like they always do whenever any celebration happens in Barcelona.

According to the more than one thousand guests that attended the gala, it was a success.

After the arrival of the King and Queen and the Dukes of Palma, the dinner was served by Semon (the same restaurant that was also in charge of the banquet served in the wedding of the Dukes of Palma). The menu started with nest of salmon with Raimat Chardonnay, followed with a suquet of prawns and artichokes, accompanied by a red Cosme Palacio Cosecha 2002. As dessert, it was served a sacher of black chocolate and coconut ice cream with cava Reserva Real Freixenet. The night was livened up with different styles of music and it was closed with a spectacle of fireworks.
