Los espectadores de Farsa del rey que un buen día decidió pasar a la historia, de Jesús Martínez Carazo, a cargo de los alumnos del colegio de Santa María de Los Rosales, todavía recuerdan la escena en que Felipe de Borbón, que entonces contaba 13 años, hacía de Bolonius, un mago que inventa la televisión en plena Edad Media.
En la obra, el rey era Álvaro Fúster, otro alumno que entonces tenía 14 años, «un actor nato», dicen los responsables del colegio.«No había función de Navidad en la que no interviniera Álvaro», recuerdan todavía. Con un tono de rey y la corona de cartón pintada de purpurina, Fúster se dirigía al mago postrado a sus pies: «Álzate Bolonius, estoy impaciente por ver qué nueva maravilla has descubierto».
Han pasado 20 años y Álvaro Fúster ha cambiado, aunque hoy mantiene intactas dos cosas de entonces: un gran sentido del humor y una amistad entrañable con Felipe de Borbón, su mejor amigo, y viceversa.Hoy dirige junto a su hermano Ricky, cinco años mayor, el despacho que pertenecía a su padre, Ricardo Fúster, un ingeniero aeronáutico que vendía aviones y representaba en España a la empresa Mac Donnell Douglas.
El padre de Álvaro y sus hermanos Ricky, Juan y Susana, murió el año pasado. Libró durante años una batalla contra el cáncer, sin abandonar nunca su trabajo ni dejar de tener un gesto amable para todo el mundo. Los hermanos Fúster, tras hacer cursos de Ingeniería y Finanzas en Estados Unidos, se dedican ahora a negocios de energía eólica, sobre todo Álvaro.
En la casa familiar de las afueras de Madrid, sigue la madre, Carmen Garaizábal, Pichu para sus íntimos. Allí ha pasado largas temporadas Isabel Sartorius, que después de ser novia de Ricky Fúster cuando los dos eran muy jóvenes, siguió siendo una gran amiga de la familia. Isabel ha encontrado en Pichu la madre que no tiene en España, aunque en aquella casa, Isabel también halló calor y afecto. Allí se encontraba con el Príncipe Felipe durante un noviazgo que nunca fue fácil, ni siquiera oficial.
Estas relaciones de complicidad afianzaron mucho más la amistad de Don Felipe con los Fúster, especialmente con Álvaro que, junto a Nicolás de Grecia, primo del Príncipe, y Javier López Madrid, hijo de un importante empresario del sector del automóvil, forman el reducido círculo del heredero.
Con ellos viajó a México para la boda de Ricky con Mónica Navarro, hija de un magnate azteca dueño de la cerveza Coronita. Con este grupo hace cada año un viaje en agosto a sitios lejanos y exóticos.De esos viajes hemos sabido poco, pues el hermetismo de los íntimos del Príncipe es total; ni siquiera sus familias saben bien a dónde se dirigen, hasta que llaman para decir que «están lejos y están bien».
Pero cuando el grupo visitó Venezuela, invitados por un millonario caribeño amigo de López Madrid, alguien filtró esas fotos a la prensa. La publicación de las imágenes causó menos impacto que la excursión del grupo de amigos a La India. Las fotos de la revista ¡Hola!, en las que aparecen el Príncipe, sus amigos y Eva Sannun, o Felipe de Borbón solo con la modelo noruega delante del Taj Majal, resultaron una auténtica bomba informativa que actualizaba una relación que se creía acabada.
UNA RELACIÓN SÓLIDA
En su momento se creyó que Don Felipe había pedido a algún amigo que filtrara las fotos para acelerar la oficialización de su relación, pero parece que fueron duplicadas por alguien con ánimo de lucro y por mucho dinero. «En todo caso, no peligró la amistad del Príncipe y Álvaro, lo suyo es una lealtad a prueba de bomba», asegura gente del entorno de la Zarzuela, que pone la mano en el fuego por la solidez de su amistad.
Los encuentros entre Eva Sannum y el heredero también tuvieron como escenario la casa de los Fúster en el pantano de El Alberche, cerca de Madrid, según unas fotografías de papparazzis.
Este mes de agosto Felipe de Borbón, Álvaro Fúster y el grupo de íntimos han viajado a San Petersburgo, después de la Copa del Rey de Vela. En las vacaciones mallorquinas del Príncipe apenas participan sus amigos habituales. Los Fúster veranean en Marbella de toda la vida y el Don Felipe apenas ha pisado la Costa del Sol y, si se ha visto con ellos, ha sido en algún viaje esporádico a Sotogrande.
Pero el que no se vean en unas cuantas semanas no significa que no estén en contacto permanente. Hasta el punto de que muchos piensan que estos amigos íntimos son quienes ayudan al heredero a conocer gente nueva y a abrirse al mundo, sobre todo el femenino.
Álvaro Fúster, soltero y sin compromiso, tiene mucho éxito con las chicas; hace tiempo salió con una modelo sueca. Más tarde, cuando alguna amiga de la joven visitaba España, le pedía a Álvaro que se ocupara de presentarle a gente y enseñarle un poco Madrid.Con todo, su familia y sus amigos aseguran que Álvaro trabaja 14 horas diarias y sale poco. «Son contadas las veces que se le hacen fotos saliendo de una discoteca con chicas más o menos espectaculares, y no pueden interpretarse como que se pasa las noches de fiesta; nada más lejos de la realidad», aseguran en su entorno.
Los amigos del Príncipe son una incógnita. Seguramente porque el secreto de su amistad se basa en la complicidad, la lealtad y el silencio.
