Other Royal and Noble Weddings

From what in understand after reading the articles it was the bride herself who chose not to wear a tiara.

This seems to have been a more casual garden wedding. The bride isn’t wearing a veil and her dress is totally unadorned, so I’m guessing she felt a tiara wouldn’t work with this look.

But it seems the groom's mother wore a diamond and sapphire tiara from her Family (the Marquises de La Motilla) as necklace.

Yes, here she is:

Here's a video of guests arriving at the Lira Palace in Madrid ahead of the ducal wedding.

On the Group picture , I don't know who is the lady on the left next to Groom's Mother , but the last on the right is Princess Anne d' Orléans , Princess of Bourbon Siciles widow of the Infant.

The lady in the big hat is Sofia Barroso, the mother of the bride.

After I saw official photos of the wedding, I have to say that Duchess of Huéscar has an amazing posture. The dress with a long train was unusual. She pulled it off effortlessly. The couple looked great together.

Stunning bride. This is how you do a modern, structured dress. The back is showstopping.

I didn't realize that the King and Queen of Bulgaria were present until I saw the group photo of them with Queen Sophia and the Dowager Duchess of Calabria.

According to the Spanish press some claim that the bride disagreed with her father-in-law about the location of the wedding. She preferred the chapel of Leria palace but the duke of Alba preferred the Palace garden as the chapel is too small for all the guests. After that she chose not to wear a tiara, perhaps she found it odd for a garden ceremony.

Some beautiful photos in Vanitas:

I believe the duchess of Segorbe, nee Pss M. da Gloria of Brazil & ex-wife of the Yugoslav crown prince, also attended the wedding.

Finnish family magazine Seura published a special issue "Kuninkaalliset" about royals a couple of weeks ago.
In the magazine was an article about the "royal wedding in Finland" - the wedding of Princess Maria-Annunziata of Bourbon-Two Sicilies and Count Fredrik Creutz, at St. Henry's Cathedral in Helsinki, 2nd August 2003.

George Mikhailovich Romanoff, who uses the titles of HIH the Heir, Tsesarevich, and Grand Prince (translated as Grand Duke of Russia) as the heir to the head of the former imperial house of Russia, and Rebecca Bettarini, who is styled Nob. Victoria Romanovna Bettarini since her conversion to Orthodoxy, held their "betrothal ceremony", which constitutes the first section of their Orthodox wedding ceremony, at Ipatievskii Monastery in Kostroma, Russia, on January 24.

In the Russian Orthodox Church, the wedding ceremony is divided into two sections: the Betrothal (obrucheniye or Обручение) and the Crowning (venchaniye or Венчание) . In the modern day, the ceremonies are most frequently combined, but in the past, they were two separate ceremonies. The Grand Duke and his fiancée chose to celebrate the ceremony of Betrothal at the Ipatievskii Monastery at Kostroma. This is the ancient monastery from which the first Romanov Tsar, Michael I was called to the throne. The Epiphany Convent of St. Anastasia, which is part of the complex at Kostroma, is also the home of the miraculous icon of the Feodorovskaya Mother-of-God - regarded as the heavenly protectress of the House of Romanov.

On January 24, 2021, at noon, the Heir of the Head of the Imperial House of Russia, His Imperial Highness The Grand Duke George of Russia, and his fiancée, the hereditary noblewoman Miss Victoria Romanovna Bettarini, were betrothed in the Holy Trinity Cathedral in the Ipatiev Monastery in the city of Kostroma. The betrothal service was officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Ferapont of Kostroma and Nerkhta. Among those attending the service were government officials of the Kostroma Region.

On behalf of the Governor of the Kostroma Region, S. K. Sitnikov, the Chief of Staff the administration of the Kostroma Region, M.B. Smirnov, formally greeted Tsesarevich George and his fiancée Victoria Romanovna.

Denville, That is quite True. However, the people must continue to go on. The young people can be an inspiration. There needs to be a vast amount of hope and positiveness.

Prince Heinrich of Croÿ married Joana de Sotto-Mayor in the convent-palace of Mafra in Portugal.

The bride seems to be wearing a small tiara?

The wedding was attended by the duke and duchess of Bragança and by their eldest son.

Is there anything known about the bride's family? There is a Sotto Mayor palace in Lisbon, which belonged to an enobled industrial family. But there may be more people with such a last name perhaps.

It looks like the tiara is made up of diamond, ruby and emerald brooches. Somehow it reminds me of the jewel worn by the grooms aunt in 1990: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/de/6a/e3/de6ae3b033776c749ced49a15d48f793.jpg
But I don't know if that is a match, the pictures are not good enough to be sure.

Btw, that was already the second wedding in the Croy family this year. The older brother Prince Marc Emmanuel got married to Delia de Cosse Brissac in May, and it it looks like Delia did not wear this tiara.

Maybe the wedding of their sister Princess Xenia of Croy, who is engaged to Guy delle Piane, will enlighten us about the tiara.

Somehow i think the tiara worn by the groom's aunt looks bigger. As for Delia my guess is that she wore a tiara from her own Family as she comes from one of the oldest and french noble Families they have probably a tiara.
