Prince´s first visit to Shakespeare´s grave?

http://www.stratford-herald.co.uk/mainstory.php?ID=929

Stratford´s Holy Trinity Church had a surprise visitor on Friday when the Prince of Wales dropped in to attend the Royal Shakespeare Company´s
Christmas carol service.

( I don´t know, was it today or last Friday, because i think a Christmas carol service is before Christmas... )

Some of the carol services go on after christmas, so it looks as though it was today, one of the other articles mentions Boxing Day activities!

Now they sing Christmas Carols before Christmas but when I was young (it was not THAT long ago LOL ) the Advent Carols were sung in the month between Thanksgiving and Christmas and then the Christmas carols were sung between Christmas and Epiphany.

Now because of the commercialism, you can hear Christmas carols in the stores before Halloween! And its getting mixed up. A perfectly lovely Advent carol, O come, o come Emmanuel, is heard on Christmas Day and you hear Angels We Have Heard On High well before Christmas Eve when the angels are supposed to be singing on high!

That's why there is a song about the "Twelve Days of Christmas" - it is for a lot of people a difficult concept that Christmas is not over on the 24th after opening the christmas gifts (as is custom in Germany), but in fact only starts that night! While in traditional families (like mine) the christmas tree stands till Maria Lichtmeß (Candlemas - 2nd of February!). Which is so uncustomary by now here in Germany that we really have difficulties in getting rid of the tree because the public christmas tree removal service is on december 7th or 8th (depends on the day Epiphany is - the next working day afterwards).

My husband each year takes the days off till Epiphany, we celebrate christmas day and boxing day with the family in my in-law's home, then we celebrate New Year's Eve and New Year's Day in our home with guests and spend some days in the mountains afterwards with a last celebration with a festive dinner on Epiphany. And then we quietly enjoy our christmas decoration till Candlemas... and after that I start arranging the spring decoration with Eastern coming up and the next round of family festivities.... Though we are not much into carneval but prefer another trip to enjoy the snow and the fresh air in the mountains instead...

The reaction from the press office is funny. Imagine they are probably getting tons of phone calls about William and Kate and then in the middle of all that they get this question. :ROFLMAO:

I think the reaction of the bride to be is funny -

'The 23-year-old mum-of-two said: "It wouldn't be very PC in this day and age. I'm a bit taken aback - I don't quite know what to make of it really.

"Maybe it would be different because of who the Prince is, but I don't know. Liam would go mental. God knows what he would say to Prince Charles'.

duhhhhhh

Sounds as though she's contemplating it as a possibility :ROFLMAO:

Prince Charles Returns to Pub
"I Love It Here, I just Cannot Keep Away"

The Prince of Wales will visit a Cumbria village, supermarket and some affordable homes when he visits the county next month.
It will be almost three years since the Prince last visited The Old Crown at the Hesket Newmarket, when he told reporters: "I love it here, I just cannot keep away."

Prince Charles Rumored To Have Canceled Skiing Trip

Prince Charles is being extremely green conscious and is even opting to stay home than visit lavish resort sited,
It has been reported that the environment friendly royal has canceled his annual skiing trip.
The 58-year-old prince has traditionally enjoyed a break in the exclusive resort of Klosters, in the Swiss mountains, with his sons Princes William, 24, and Harry, 22, however this year he has no plans to hit the piste.
"The people of Klosters are devastated - he has made many of them rich."
:ROFLMAO:

you know Camilla dont like skiing because of her fears i dont think she is her fault but she dont like going skiing dues her reasons i dont blame camilla

As William & Harry can't go, the whole mood of the trip would be different. It wouldn't be the same dynamic. It's not fair to blame Camilla.

Things change. That's a fact of life for all of us, even though we may not always like it.

The good people of Klosters will just have to cultivate others to make them rich. :)

"It has been suggested that it was the prince's wife, Camilla, who urged Charles to hang up his salopettes, after becoming increasingly annoyed with the company he was keeping in Switzerland".

Of course, it is all Camillas fault! Poor man can never make a decision by himself!

Just curious, what company has Charles been keeping in the Klosters? I just knew about the people he got in an avalance with but who does he normally ski with?

I think Charles PT and his wife will be with Charles all the time. And their daughter Tara PT are often there because TP family have a good holdiday retreat there. I don't know others.

Camilla has never stopped him from going in the past, why would she now? IMO, it is his decision based on the fact that neither of his sons can go and the fact that he is not getting any younger, just look at the trouble arnold schwarzenegger is having!

And it might be that he simply prefers sitting in his cozy home in Scotland in front of the fireplace together with the woman he loves to living in a hotel suite, no matter how luxurious this suite is.

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, will visit The Crown Pub, part of His Royal Highness’s Pub is the Hub Initiative, and meet representatives of the Hesket Newmarket Brewery co-operative and organisers and clients of the Northern Fells Group, Hesket Newmarket, Cumbria.

Amazing, the media almost got it right!

What are these journalists thinking about?
Maybe that Charles books two seats for him and Camilla in the economy class?
Let me know the day when they start to have a good word for the Prince...:bang: !

What I can't understand, is why the fuss when Charles has paid for all the seats in 1st and business class.

As there will be fewer actual passengers, the flying weight will be less, the plane will use less fuel, therefore less of a carbon footprint. Economy/budget is still taking passengers as well, so why, oh why the negative headlines? :bang:

So...the very same people criticizing don't fly? And why not fly over to accept the award if you can accomplish other interest for the Foriegn Office?
