Charles wearing protective glasses tries stone masonery during a visit to the Cathedral workshops at Lincoln Cathedral. The Prince is visiting the area as president of The Prince's Foundation for the Built Environment, the charity responsible for the redevelopment masterplan which aims to turn Lincoln into a modern, sustainable city.

Prince Charles attends the official opening of Kew Palace on May 5, 2006 in southwest London. The building, built in 1631, has recently completed its restoration and conservation project by the charity, Royal Historic Palaces.

Question, I have never heard of Kew Palace until Camilla went to see its restoration process last year. Whats its history and how is it going to be used in modern times. Will it just be like Hampton Court or will the RF use it. Also, does Prince Charles sign Charles or Charley.

I was about to ask the same thing Princejohnny.
it is true he will try anything wont he.

This link tells you about the palace and what it will now be used for.

Charles signs Charles, it is just that he always seems to squigly the tail of the S.

How kind of Miss Jolie to put our Prince of Wales in such a difficult position. Why can't these so-called A-listers mind their own business? Joan Crawford and Jack Lemmon would never have done that sort of thing.

What was so bad about what she's doing? I see nothing wrong with it at all.
Its nice to see A'Listers having concern for other people less fortunate rather than just thinking of themselves. She's just showing compassion for the Sudanese people.

I think she is doing an admirable job of trying to bring the problem to everyones attention but, with all the bad press about Charles 'apparently' upsetting MP's by voicing his opinions to them, he cannot be seen to do or say anything.

It must be terrible to want to help but, being stopped from speaking out because MP's don't want attention brought to their lack of action.

I'm just a little cynical. I mean, would Miss Jolie care as much if she wasn't a 'celebrity'? Would Paul McCartney care about fur if he wasn't famous? Jolie's reputation isn't exactly pearly white and I just think this is an attempt to make her seem a little more angelic and a little less husband-stealer. But that's not the point I want to make here. Why is she, an American, involving our Royal Family? She knows that he can't say yes or no and so whatever he does, he'll be in the wrong and I think it's just a brainless thing to do, something that real hollywood stars would just never have done. She's put the Prince in an awkward position at an important time.

I think they would still care but, would not be listened to.

She or her publicist has put Charles in an awkward position by releasing this story to the media.

If he says he agrees with her or tries to help, he is interferring in the politics of another country and his own, if he says nothing, he simply doesn't care!

It is a beautiful, peaceful place according to my dad who was there some years ago. Shame that monks don't let ladies in :) Prince Charles is spending a lot of time meeting people and I fully understand that he is looking for some quiet, spiritual place to recharge his batteries :)

Yes, Charles always needs some time to reflect himself and have some deep thinking. He is sort of man, very solumn and very complicated. I don't think Camilla has accompanied him on the yacht this time because she worries about her father's condition all the time. Best wishes to Major Shand!
