She's definitely a country girl for sure. One thing we know, she'll definitely enjoy summer breaks at Balmoral. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if once they start a family, they buy a country house in Wales and use the KP apartments as their London base.

It's probably a huge part of why she fits in so well with the Royal family. And yes, she probably genuinely enjoys Balmoral instead of suffering through it :)

It is a well known fact that Diana did not enjoy country pursuits, thus she hated visiting Balmoral so being interested is definitely a bonus. It no doubt puts you in the Queen's good books, just ask Sophie. She's got the first four chapters to herself.

Well, when Kate goes to the Expanding Horizons’ Primary School Scheme engagement on Sunday, I hope she wears the appropriate clothing to build the outdoor shelter and campfire that's on the agenda. I somehow can't see her in heels, hat and dress performing those activities!

Thanks for the video, Ghost.
She's definitely a very versatile lady. She can be a proper royal one minute, and then get down in her heels and all the rest of the frippery and get her hands dirty. Definitely a bonus, especially in her position. Like you, I'm looking forward to seeing her decked out in appropriate attire on Sunday and really show them what she got . She appears to be enjoying herself when it comes to really getting hands-on, so this will be a good engagement for her.

Am I loving these family events? You bet I am! And here is another one.

The Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall today hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace for the winners of the 'Cook for the Queen' competition.

- The Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall with Latimer Arts Collage pupils
- The Queen greets Jamie Oliver and Rick Stein

- Camilla tries some of the cookies (looks yummy)
- The Duchess gets some master-class from the young chiefs

What a lovely event. I'm a firm believer that we're never going to tackle the obesity epidemic in this country until we teach our children how to make tasty, healthy meals.

Just a bug bear, though. Couldn't Jamie Oliver do his top button up? When I was at school teachers would stop girls in the corridor if their top button was undone. It just looks he can't be bothered.

Luv'lee Jub'lee Bub'lee! Just one of the recipes cooked up by schoolchildren making a meal fit for the Queen at the Palace
Quote:
A group of schoolchildren cooked a meal fit for the Queen for the first time in Buckingham Palace's history yesterday. The 32 youngsters were the winners of a competition organised by the Duchess of Cornwall to create a special menu to mark the monarch's Diamond Jubilee. The hugely imaginative winning entries included such delicacies as Harry's Hungry Hunt - wood pigeon skewers served with spiced beetroot and pomegranate molasses chutney; Luv'lee Jub'Lee Bub'lee - elderflower, strawberry and champagne soup; and Elizabeth Fans, crisp fill shells with a cheese quiche filling, baby asparagus and a cherry tomato bow.

Those cookies look delicious. The whole endeavor sounds like a lot of fun. Kids get a kick out of eating what they have created, and, if the Queen gets to eat, then all the more reasons to feel proud of one's achievement .

Very nice photos. I see William's getting into practice for carrying babies; it looks like the carriage is there just waiting for little Lupo.

I think Ghost probably means honorary aunt and uncle rather than the second cousins the children actually are to William.

Well in my tradition, Greek orthodox the cousins are usually aunt and uncle too not just brothers or sisters so that's why I added(in my tradition) in brackets like that. But for them ya honorary aunt and uncle since I highly doubt they'd see Wills and Kate as their cousins atleast not right now, not at this age. When I was younger I called my cousins aunt and uncle because they were so much older then me until I got to an age where it felt ok for me to call them my cousins.
