Beautiful picture! Since Maxima is Catholic and WA isn't would she be allowed to wear white, during official visits with the pope, once she's queen?

No she won't. As Queen she is representing The Netherlands which is not a Catholic country.

I just found this picture in tumblr and I'm wondering if someone know when this picture is taken and on what occasion .. I spotted Prince Edward, Prince Joachim and Prince Frederick in matching jumper (E & J) and backpack (all)

WOW!! Fabulous pictures!! It is funny to see all the Crown Princes when they are so young. I saw Haakon and Martha Louise, Frederick, Joachim, Edward, it looks like they had the same sweat shirts. Hopefully with all the wonderful intelligent people on here, someone will know!!
Thanks again!!!:flowers:

.

It was taken in Norway during an anniversary. Not sure whether it was a wedding anniversary or a birthday...

Even after 1956 you don't see Princess Grace in many pictures. It's a shame.

In 1997 King Harald and Queen Sonja both celebrated their 60th birthdays. The big party took place in June and among the events was a cruise of assorted royalty which included a large number of young royals (sort of Agamemnon #2). These pics may have been taken on that cruise.

Pope Franciscus seems the last one to care about a correct protocol for catholic or non-catholic royals. Queen Máxima is a roman-catholic and some say the Netherlands are no catholic country. That is correct, the state has no religion, Church and State are separated. But catholics are the largest religious denomination in the Netherlands. So in the event that there will be a fullblown white-tie-and-diadems State Visit to the Holy See, Queen Máxima can wear white if she wants.

Such a visit would be interesting by the way. There is a new Ambassador representing the Kingdom of the Netherlands at the Holy See: His Royal Highness Prince Jaime de Bourbon de Parme (a full cousin of the King). When King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima visit the Holy See, they will be accompanied by Prince Jaime and Princess Viktória. Hopefully both ladies in long and with diadems.

Well, then who is the one on the far right? LOL!

looking at the picture the man on the far right (as we look at it) seems to be one of the current Grand Duke Henri's brothers, possibly Prince Guillaume (not his son)
