Abir has a very pretty face. She is a little overweight and I think if she thinner, she would be stunning. I do not think she has the same money for dresses as other ladies from the royal family or perhaps she likes to keep a low profile and appearance isn't the most important for her. She is beautiful in a natural way.

Thank you Princess Mahala for the links to news about Abir. She has become a very accomplished young woman. The Royal Family have reason to be very proud of her. She is a credit to her adoptive parents. Thank you again.

Hi Reina!

She was at PHamzah's wedding but was excluded from other official photo's. Abir is a Palestinian orphan and once the late KHussein saw her in the hospital he immediately adopted her. She is referred to as a daughter of KH but her surname is always cited so as to show lineage.

Its Political correctness at work, because Islam does not permit adoption. Also the topic of a persons progeny is quite a delicate matter, hence they tend to tip toe around it.

With my due respect, Islam does not prohibit adoption, but encourage people to take care of children who has lost their one or both of their parents. What Islam does not advice is to change the family name of the child you adopt. In that way Islam tries to protect the child from some possible troubles, such as marrying a brother/ sister or a very close relative in the future unknowingly . Even in today's world where billions of people live and produce children, we hear such unbeliavable but true stories. When the closed community of Arab World in the first years of Islam is taken into consideration, it is something understandable. But today a lot of Muslim people adopt children and bring up them as if they are their real sons or daughters and don't choose to declare their child is adopted. It is a matter of choice in today's world.
Also, IMO Aber should be more visible, because she is a part of the family. She is King Hussein's and Queen Alia's daughter. She should be included in official photos. I think That would not create any problems with Jordanians, but improve the image of JRF.

Hi wingsofsky!

Not to worry hun I meant that traditionally it was outlawed (and carried stigmata) and the family name could not be bequeathed to the adopted Child.

Although adoptions are permissible today by way of amendments of the state (and I agree Islam encourages one to look after orphans) the family name is still not bequeathed ie Ms. Abir Muhaisen.

She was raised as you said but in certain circles the stigmata still exists.

I strongly agree with NoorMeansLight. Roshanah, I just wanted to clearify the issue as other people who have no idea about Islam might misunderstand.

I agree with you, wingo but even if she isn't included in official photos, IMO she is still in her sister and her brother's hearts. (WOW I am not very good at giving flowers indeed)

I do think the same ; if she was not included in pics before maybe cause of her decision ; I even do not allow myself to say that her brothers and sisters neglected her . I heard before she is married in USA and that the King gave her a title (princess )

she is not being neglected...and she has strong bonds to the Queens family, her Grandmother aka the Queens mother, her aunt and uncle aka the Queens siblings, children, nephews and nieces.... I can't tell about her relationship to her other siblings... (PHaya, PAli, ...)

I do think the same, but IMO she should be included in official photos, too I mean in the ones the whole family appears. In the past, when King Hussein was alive, she was nearly always in the family photos. If it is her own choice, Hey, Abir, come out and say Hello. We missed you a lot.

Hi Noor means light, I was responding to a post that was questioning another post, which stated that Abir was excluded from P.Hamzah's former wedding

I know the late K. Hussein didn't exclude her, I was refering to after his death there were significantly fewer pictures with Abir present (although she was in attendance). The same thing happened to Princess Haya.

This sort of thing wouldn't have happened during K. Hussein's reign.
