It looks like the crowns I used to cut out of construction paper and sequins- or a burger king crown....
Yuck!

It looks like gold paint, not gold. I made a lot of things with gold and silver paint when I was a child.

It ranks right up there with Queen Sonja's "Star Wars" tiara and Queen Margrethe's "daisies" ... hideous!

Astrid´s horrible gold tiara (and a few of her other strange head-ornaments) together with Margarethe´s poppies and Sonja´s gold thing is in a league of their own - nothing come close to these horrors imo

Reminds me of the "Burger King Crown"!!!

I see now that a few others got the same impression. That is funny.

I still hope Martha Lousie gets that tiara as she's the only one in the NRF that can pull that thing off!

Didn't she once joke that she gets Russian radio with one wing, and American radio with the other one at the same time

LOL... That is what I read also! Good thing she has a sense of humor as one would have to to wear that thing on one's head... :)

But she doesn't "have" to wear that thing she has other pieces available, like the turquoise parure and the beautifull Vasa tiara. For me she should just hide those things away . But maybe that tiara is also functional , you know , for the days she feels tired and moody and just can't torelate anything bigger on her head .

Of course she doesn't "have" to wear it.... Perhaps she only wears it for casual occasions. LOL
