:previous::previous: In the 1860s Prince Albert Edward was seen wearing a bowler. The bowler became an acceptable gentleman's hat.

Yes it did but the bowler was not worn in Town until the 1880s when it became quite popular. Originally it was worn when going to the races or carriage riding in the country and so forth.

Honorable mention (although still in need of a tailor) to Heinrich Donatus, Hereditary Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe, and Paul-Anton Esterházy von Galántha.
Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein nailed it.

Horrified by what the groom is wearing.

:previous: Very much in need of tailors!
It's basically a wedding uniform, how difficult is it to get it wrong?

And gentlemen who are not in possession of shoulders should always wear shorter coats, otherwise they begin to resemble Nosferatu.

Men showing their bare legs can never be fashionable, only disturbing. And all too frequently scary as well.

The only exception being kilts - not least because of the length of the kilt and the length of the stockings, so that only the knees are showing.
There is however a statute in Old Scottish Law of 1640, where men with bony or fat knees are to be banished to the Isle of Skye if they show said knees in public

The Duke of Edinburgh rocking a funny tie in Ascot as well.

It's actually his go-to Ascot tie. There's even an article about it.
(btw, what's that strap on his right shoulder? His wife's bag?)

I love that he's not afraid to wear bright colours. Yellow tie and vest? Two thumbs up, sir! (Though of course, let's not forget his 2018 Ascot with blue shirt, yellow vest, pink tie. Our one and only The Prince Edward, he's the best!), but TBH I like the blue tie he wore in 2021 more (also with horses pattern).

I know it's his go-to tie, it doesn't make it any less funny.

Some other male royals could take notes.

Are you drawing the attention of other male royals to the shoes from the sustainability angle, or the ox-blood colour? Not all of us are that fond of the colour and are entirely happy with its very limited use.?

And some of us prefer it as a change from the endless parade of "ugly brown shoes" and ones which are so boring as to draw no notice at all. ;)
