I absolutely loved this pair...

To bad their marriage didn't last either, like many other marriages in the British Royal Family. But that doesn't mean that the couple wasn't photogenic. Therefore, I decided to post pics of their engagement and wedding.

The engagement was announced on May 30, 1973.

What's the "Story" on these two now-a-days ?

I hear Mom won't permit a second divorce, so how are they coping with living as far apart as possible ?

 Hmm? I believe Mark Philips and the Princess Royal have been divorced since the early 1990s. You must mean her second husband, Timothy Lawrence.

Great thread pdas1201! While I'm not a big fan of her dress, or her hair, she really was a beautiful bride. In some of these photographs, you can really see the resemblence to her mother. She has her smile. I was just sitting here thinking - and this is really awful, I know - but I don't think that Captain Mark Phillips was very attractive, but Peter really turned out to be very good looking and I think that he resembles his dad quite a bit.

Another question - is that Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones who is the flower girl? And the paige (I think that is what they are called) is that David Linley, or Prince Edward. It looks like Edward, but was he that young when Anne got married?

Right !
My mistake.

But the question still applies: "I hear Mom won't permit a second divorce, so how are they coping with living as far apart as possible ?"

Wow, thanks for the pics, Dennis! I have to admit, those are gorgeous shots...The poses are unique.

A sketch of the wedding gown

The gown was made by Mrs. Maureen Baker of Susan Small. The gown was based on a court dress of the reign of Elizabeth I. The knee-length trumpet sleeves edged with Pearls, and the shoulder train embroidered with Orange Blossom designs by the Queen's embroiderer added the distinction of a bygone era to the gown.
