Prince Vincent & Princess Josephine's First Day of Primary School: August 15, 2017

First day of school for the twins, Vincent and Josephine. Photo opportunity on August 15

"D.K.H. Crown Prince and Crown Princess's youngest children, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, start in Grade 0 at Tranegård School in Hellerup on August 15th. The Prince and Princess will thus attend the same school as their siblings, D.K.H. Prince Christian and Princess Isabella.

Your Royal Highness Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine begin in Grade 0 at Tranegård School in Hellerup on Tuesday, 15 August. In this connection, there will be an opportunity for photography before departure from Frederik VIII's Palace, Amalienborg, where the Crown Prince will come out in front of the palace together with their two youngest children at. 9.15. The meeting time is at. 9.00.

With these photo opportunities, it is desired that the first day of the Royal Children's Day be kept as private as possible and with respect for the future classmates and their families."

Wow, time flies! I suspect Josephine in particular will take school by storm.

No live-sending on Vincent and Josephine's first day of school it seems.

"I have researched a bit, and Billedbladet were live when Joakim's Athene started school, but it does not seems like they will send live today when Vincent and Jospephine start. Weird, as Vincent and Josephine are children of our future King and Queen and there is much more interest in them. Maybe F&M have decided they don't wish live-feed on their little children's big day?"

Then we must wait for the pictures and videoes coming in...

:previous: The first pictures coming in are absolutely adorable. Vincent and Josephine are so charming, funny and beautiful children. I love how they looked out of the windows at the press downstairs.

Look forward to see some videoes and more pictures.

The pictures of F&M and Vincent and Josephine is lovely!

Today is a big day for the Crown Prince couple's youngest children, the twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. Today, they start in 0th grade at the municipal primary school Tranegårdsskolen where their older siblings already go.

Traditionally, the twins met the press in front of Frederik 8's Palace before school start. It was clear that the six and a half-year-old Josephine, who held her father's hand when they came out, was very excited to attend school, while her brother Vincent was a bit more overwhelmed by the situation.

With his mother in his hand Vincent stepped out in front of the wide range of press and ordinary curious Danes who had stuck together outside the Palace. And it was probably why the otherwise happy and smiling prince Vincent was a bit shy. For the most part of the good four-minute seance with the press, the six-year-old prince Vincent stood close to his mother and let her sister answer questions from the press.

At the brief meeting, Crown Princess Mary confirmed that the twins, as otherwise have followed in thick and thin, should instead go in their own class.

"I'll go in A and Vincent will go in B," little Josephine told the press.

Crown Prince Frederik elaborated on the decision to separate the twins with the grounds that they as parents had considered it best for the children.

"They are each other's best friends and can see each other in the breaks and at home. But we thought they should have some new comrades, "said the Crown Prince.

Both parents did not hide from the fact that it was also a big day for them to send the youngest to the children's school at school.

"It feels good. It is the right way. It's always exciting, and that's what you want for your children, "said Frederik, to which Mary quickly replied:

"But mother here is having a hard time...." :D

Then the meeting ended, and the ecxited schoolchildren with their new school bags on their back hurried back through the gate, just shortly after setting out in the car to go to school for the first time.

Vincent looks serious as usual. My girl Josephine is still in love with that red flower headpiece I see :lol::lol:

You can see that they are twins in looks only for both have such different personalities, Josephine is so out there in letting the world know that she has arrived and Vincent is so shy and a bit scared it seems for he wants him mom and to stay home. Both are such gorgeous children and I can't believe how fast they have grown. I also remember the day they were born and mom and dad each held one bringing them home. ?

Watching and listening to the video I got the impression that Vincent got a bit teary-eyed and got close to his mother when his parents were telling the press about the twins starting in separate classes. Other than that, he was fine and said a few words.

That's pretty much in line with the impression I have of his personality.
Vincent is a more sensitive, reserved and pensive type. - Except when it comes to cows...
I'm already envisioning him as a creative artist

Here is a BB video. SE VIDEO: Prinsesse Josephine og prins Vincents første skoledag | BILLED-BLADET

We learn that they have a pencil case in their bags and Vincent could proudly announce he had school books.
Josephine after a brief reflection told us she is looking forward to English the most.

Mary said Bella and Christian had indeed prepared their siblings a little for school and that they look forward to receiving them at school. (Many schools have an event where the rest welcome the youngest. Others don't because it can also be a bit too overwhelming).

As we can expect Josephine is the most outgoing of the two.

Are you ready to a aww-video from TV2?

Where Josephine feels completely at home in front of the large press, little Vincent was a bit more overwhelmed today. Dad and Mom did their best, but then funny little Josephine joked to Vincent then the press asked what they have in their schoolbags. "I have a banana case, do you also have Vincent?" And Vincent answers: "No, a pencil case.." and he breaks out in a smile.

Sisters mission succeeded ❤️ Twins do have a special bond.

**Banana house (bananhus) and pencil case (penalhus) sounds very similar in Danish. That's why Josephine is joking about it. Or maybe she simply thought it was called banana house

ADDEED:
Josephine's "banana house" has gone viral and TV2 has posted several videos about it now

TV2 has a video and a fuller transcription of the little press session:

It was not without a bit "sadness" that Crown Princess Mary sent her two youngest children on their first day of school, she told the press.

Even though this is the third time the Crown Prince couple sends a child to school for the first time, the situation was a bit different this time.

This time will be the last time for Mary and Frederik to send children on their first school day, and they feel about that situation something different.

- It feels good. It is the right way. It's always exciting, and that's what you want for your children, "said Frederik, to which Mary quickly replied:

- But the mother is having a hard time, Mary said and laughed :D

- It's both a very happy and a little sad day for me. I think it's hard to see the last ones come to school, they grow up and develop so fast."

I feel with you, Mary. I'm gonna having a hard time sending my last one to school as well :)

(I do not want to translate the rest of the article as we already have these parts translated here)

Vincent had a little bit case of the nerves today but has also shown he is little risk taker (yelling at the cows and jumping off yachts ;)). He stood for the photo session and looked ready to go at the school.
Josephine looked excited but also some nerves which she quickly conquered by dancing with her father lol

Found a video with some English translations

Vincent and Josephine are really sweet kids! They did a good job interacting with the reporters, too, especially for a pair of five year olds. I hope they had a great first day.

:previous: The twins are 6 :flowers:. But agree, they did a fantastic job. First day of school nerves and all, but they answered a few questions and got on with the big day.

A few more articles.

"There are school books, it was from Prince Vincent,

I can't believe that they are going to school! Josephine especially seemed excited, with all her talk of pencil cases and looking forward to English class. Do the children speak English?

Man it sux that all the kids look like him and none look like her at least a little.

Christian looks a lot like Mary's side of the family but with lighter colouring, IMO. I also think Vincent looks like his mom in some ways. The only one I reliably only see Frederik in is Isabella.

Christian is a lot like the Donaldson side, especially his maternal grandfather, and Josephine looks exactly like her mother. Isabella is the splitting image of her father. Vincent, I've always thought Vincent looks a bit like Prince Henrik.

That's my breakdown as well, so two of the kids take after their father's side and two take after their mother's.

I can't quite put my finger on what it is in particular, but I also see some kind of resemblance between Vincent and his paternal grandfather.
