So, as discussed here in the Royal Forums too, there was this fight in front of a court between Prince Ernst August senior and his eldest son Prince Ernst August junior. It was all about huge gifts made by Senior to Junior - among them Castle Marienburg.

Junior claimed the upkeep of the castle was too expensive and sold it for one €uro into public hands.

Ernst August senior sued against this and demanded all gifts back - his claims were denied by the court..

Now, in the aftermath of these quarrels the question of the costs for the whole judicial process has to be answered. Prince Ernst August senior has, if one believes the press, to pay up to 2.5 million €uro. A lot of money, which he did not have cash. So, the Prince has sold, to make a long story short, cars out of his oldtimer collection: Ferraris, Rolls Royce', Mercedes'.

He looks awfully frail and thin, Claudia looks good. I always wonder how funny love is sometimes. Looking back at his life, his scandals, his alcohol problems, he still managed to get a woman to fall in love with him.
He got lucky in the end whereas his exwife Caroline seems to have resigned being a single woman.

Good for him, but Christian as the second son and not being responsible of keeping up the heritage and reputation of that family and financial mess that their father caused, has a much easier position. He didn't have to file lawsuits and could live an easy life in Spain.

Nobody knows what he is doing, is he working? but Ernst August Jr. is working and is, very successfully , keeping up the family's reputation and business matters.

We haven't heard or seen much of him recently, probably better. He does look ill and frail. Remembering the family feuds in the past years it is not surprising that his son Christian is taking care of him. As I remember they are living in the same city, Madrid. Although I was never a fan of Ernst A. Senior it is good to see that his son and family are there for him.

Never saw a Picture of him with his Daughter Alexandra . Caroline is still Princess of Hannover, he never married his girlfriend Claudia.

I am aware of that, that was the family feud with Ernst August Jr. some time ago. Christian wasn't involved. I also never saw pictures of E.A. Senior with Alexandra, although I saw pictures of her together with E.A. Junior in New York.
A sad family story that is.

"Bunte" reported today that Ernst August Sr. had an operation in a Madrid hospital, he got an artificial hip joint. That would explain why is using a walking help while meeting for dinner. He surely has had many health issues.

As Hola had reported he had stayed at the emergency room of the Ruber Clinic in Madrid after a fall, the question now is whether he needed an artificial hip joint following the fall or whether the original fall story was wrong..

Prince Ernst August is forbidden to enter the restaurant "Le Bistroman atelier" near the royal palace in Madrid. He was there with his partner, the artist Claudia Stilianopoulos.

On twitter the chef cook, Stéphane del Rio. says that the prince was asked to leave as he was there for a third time, drunk, insulting staff and throwing glasses to the floor.
He reacted to a post on tripadvisor where another client claims the prince was kicked out because he had 'a diabetic crisis', chocked and lost conciousness. The client claims that:

According to her, the prince came to before the ambulance arrived and left the restaurant on his own, walking. The owner then threatened them and warned them never to come back, accusing them of having broken a glass the previous time, which angered the Prince of Hanover's partner.

The chef reacted angrily on twitter and claims that Ernst August even attacked the medical staff.

Ernst-August has a long history of public appearances in which he has behaved aggressively and insultingly. He was also convicted in Austria a few years ago and is no longer allowed to live in his hunting lodge there. I am not surprised that he is reacting aggressively and conspicuously in public again. Although I had hoped getting older and having more health problems would calm him down. But that is not the case.
It probably has to do with his character, exacerbated by his alcohol problem.
He is lucky that his girlfriend continues to stand by him, as does his younger son's family.

I have to admit that I am amazed at EA's fortitude and stamina. I have written him off as down for the count at least 4 times since Rainier died. EA was comatose in the hospital at that time, and I didn't expect him to survive.

His body is apparently a lot stronger than we give him credit for.

The Princes of Hannover don't need Caroline for their own wealth or perhaps they need Caroline's money. I don't know , perhaps posters may help me. How is their relationship with their half Sister ? We never saw Alexandra at German Royal Events

Alexandra went to Christian's wedding in Peru and I have seen pictures of her in New York together with E.A. Junior. There are no "royal" events here anymore, but lots of of nobles, people of old aristocratic heritage are close or invite each other. The Hanover sons are close to the Greek royal family, I believe. Alexandra doesn't seem to be such a party girl. She spends most of her time in Paris, Monaco or travelling with her longtime German boyfriend Ben. However, all the information we get are only from tabloids, newspapers and social media content. If people don't share a lot on social media or give many interviews it is difficult to know details.
As to money I think the House of Hanover is wealthy enough, they still own castles and other property both in Germany and Austria and maybe other places we don't know of. I remember they had a villa on Lamu Island, Kenya. They would not need money from Caroline's family.

Ernst August V had a medical issue during Prince Christian's wedding in Peru, and I believe his stepbrother Pierre Casiraghi stayed at the hospital so that the Hanover children could focus on the wedding. Tatiana Casiraghi is also a godmother to Prince Ernst-August Jr.'s daughter Elisabeth.

Whatever their parents have been through, it appears that the Casiraghi and Hanover children are friendly and supportive of one another.
