Grand Duke George of Russia and Nobile Rebecca Bettarini; 24 Sept. & 1 Oct. 2021

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
The photos of the dress were released by the designer several days (if not a week or so) ago. That was how the wedding gown looked at the time. Tomorrow will really show how the whole outfit has come together.

Reem Acra is one of my favorite bridal designers. Her gowns are elegant and sumptuous at once...no frills or frou frou in sight.

Very interesting to watch the ceremony. They look happy and I think the tiara works better on with the contrast to her dark hair then it did when she was holding it.

There are lots of priests in gold surrounding them.

I saw partly in live , how happy they are ! Grand Duchess Maria/alias Empress Katherine II sitanding on an elevation was next to her Sister Helene Kirby and the Bride 's Parents. The Groom's Father was ?
I saw King Simeon , King Fouad , Duc Aymone of Aosta, Don Duarte and Prince Leka of Albania , the Duke d' Anjou with their wifes and....Stephane Bern alone on the first Row as a Royal.

She looks relaxed and happy. While I still don't like it, the tiara does look better on her hair, but I wish it's positioned higher. The earrings are lovely. The gown looks amazing from front, with those crew neckline, long sleeves and shinny fabric it could look stiff and ill-fitted easily but it doesn't. The gold embroidery on the train? veil? looks incomplete and odd with the completely white ensemble.

Any significant royal guests? Some of them looks familiar but I don't remember who they're lol, I could only recognise the Duke and Duchess of Braganza.

On Facebook there is a picture of Aimone di Savoia-Aosta (who lives in Moscow as CEO of Pirelli Northern Europe), posing arm-in-arm with his cousin Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia.

Wonderful, the younger generation of both branches seem not to feel the tensions of their parents Vittorio Emanuele, Duke of Savoia and the late Amedeo, Duke of Aosta.

It seems that King Simeon was accompanied by his daughter-in-law Pss Miriam and by his grandson, prince Boris. Queen Margarita now has grey hair but she was sitting next to the king.
I also recognised Archduke Maximilian, son of ADss Helene, née Css of Toerring-Jettenbach.

The prince and princess of Prussia seem to be missing.

Which duke of Anjou did you see? The Orleans one or the future duke of Franco?

I am not quite sure about the tiara, it looks like something from a beauty pageant and does not flatter the bride's face. From a distance it looks more like a net than a tiara.
The dress is simple and nice, even with the coat-of-arms on the train & looks great on her. Both of them seem to be very happy. The church is spectacular and it was thoughtful to leave flowers on the tombs of members of the family.

Well, the Savoy photo didn't convince me. Aimone seemed under chock and wondered what that hand was doing on his shoulder. But with photographers being all around, it's better to put up a brave face and force a smile.

Rebecca looked glowing with happiness when they exchanged rings, so beautiful. These too had waited so long for this day. Personally, I think that they would have liked to get married years ago.

The tiara also looked lovely on her, imo, although I find it a bit too airy. I would have preferred something more solid, denser, showing less hair behind it.

It makes me wonder again, why she didn't wear one from of Maria Vladimirovna. Doesn't MV own one, or is it needed for tonight's gala dinner? I think that there's a good chance that we'll see white tie and grand jewels for the dinner. And hopefully there will be more photos of the guests.

Does anybody know who all the bridesmaids were, and why they wore different dresses?

Both Dukes of Anjou were present. Legitimist and Orleanist.

Also, Archduke Maximilian of Austria was there. (Son of Archduchess Helene)

St Isaac's Cathedral looks more like a great palace than a church. It's beautiful but a little overwhelming.

The bride looks elegant and very, very regal. I do wish we had not already seen her gown; seeing it now seems anti-climactic. :sad:Her makeup is flawless. Not understanding some of the early sniping about the tiara, it looks beautiful on the bride.

I think i saw the ubiquitous Stephane Bearn front row, taking photos with his phone (eyeroll)

So she is now HIH Princess Victoria Romanovna...or Grand Duchess Victoria Romanovna?

is it known why the groom's father was absent? Thought i had read that he would be present but couldn't see him in the pics.

So she is now HIH Princess Victoria Romanovna...or Grand Duchess Victoria Romanovna?

She will use, in English, the title of pretense HSH Princess, the patronymic Romanovna, and the surname Romanoff. In other words, she will be known as HSH Princess Victoria Romanovna Romanoff.

Russian Imperial House - 2021-01-20 Announcement of the Upcoming Wedding of His Imperial Highness The Heir, Tsesarevich, and Grand Duke George of Russia and Nob. Victoria Romanovna Bettarini

In Russian, she will undoubtedly take the feminine form of her husband's family name and use Victoria Romanovna Romanova rather than Romanoff.

Orthodox wedding liturgies can be very long and elaborate, about two hours at least. Guests are expected to stand throughout. I hope the Duke of Braganca will be ok.:ermm:

Were any Spanish royals present to represent the groom's godfather Juan Carlos?

Some said that Sofia was here but no photo yet.

Were any members of the British Royal Family present at the wedding?

What a beautiful modest wedding gown. High neck, long sleeves that actually reach the wrists, closed back. Not strapless, sleeveless, no open back, no see-through, no ill-placed frills. Absolutely perfect in its simplicity. Well done.

I am so in love with her train! So incredible regal.

Tiaras for the banquet! The grand duchess has an amethyst kokoshnik which she hasn't worn before. And Rebecca wears her bridal tiara with her hair down. Looking forward to see the other guests.

I believe that the groom's father is the gentleman standing beside the Grand Duchess at the ceremony .
