I watched an interview with William some time back and in it he discussed the relationship with the press. He was happy to provide access but spoke about a line being drawn, WHICH NEITHER SIDE CROSSED. I thought that to be quite significant , I took it as no games from either party. I also wondered if it referred to the past behaviours of others who used the press as much as the press used them.
When you think of it ,how many photographs do we ever see of the Wales other than official events or organised photo calls, not many. I am not talking about photographs they themselves release. I admire William for refusing to back down, whether you agree with his stance or not. Generally I think the British public has accepted the situation , the opinion columns in the newspapers are whipping up the ridiculousness of the social media trolls.
The foreign press appear to be more upset than the UK press, according to another poster they have turned on the Wales's.
I doubt very much that William needed to make a call to Backgrid to take a photograph of his wife. I also doubt that he would even consider it. Of course that is just my opinion.
