Victoria visited yesterday Stockholm City Mission's operations at Mötesplats Mariatorget (Meeting place Mariatorget), a place for conversation, community, knowledge exchange and networking between people in different life situations. There is a café as well as group activities and cultural events to the elderly, adults and children with parents.
Victoria met participants in the Life story group. The participants, who are over 65, reminisce and talk about their lives together with a trained conversation leader. The aim is to break loneliness, prevent depression and give increased meaning and participation in life.
Victoria has been the patron of the Stockholm City Mission since 2010.

"We extend a big thank you to WaterAid Sweden's patron, Crown Princess Victoria, for visiting our operations in Bangladesh recently. The Crown Princess's commitment helps to show how important the issues of clean water and sanitation are."

Head of culture Rebecca Törnqvist talked about the breadth of cultural events, everything from concerts and performances to dance and cinema. A popular event is Secret Tuesday, where you don't know what will come in advance.
- It sounds like all my days, Victoria laughed.
Conversation leader Elisabeth Annadotter told about one of the meeting place's conversation groups, the life story group that addresses pensioners. Victoria met a participant in a life story group who told her that the group meant an incredible amount to her. On the way out, several participants greeted Victoria, who stopped and talked to them.
