It was a forgone conclusion the BBC would cover the.wedding. They are the publically funded broadcaster. There was no deal. They just gave 90000 and said it was in M and H's name.

They made a lot more than 90000 too.

Windsor is a particularly beautiful town and should be on anyone's list.

Yes but their profits wold normally go back into the BBC.. If they wanted to give it to charity I don't see why they didn't pick a charity themselves and donate it, instead of waiting for ages, and asking M and Harry to choose one.

No. It did belong to them and would have been reinvested as the BBC is for the public. The amount of educational work they do alone is phenomenal.

well yes, I don't like the BBC but it was their money.. it did belong to them. THey could have either used it by putting it back into their organisation or donating it to charity.. I don't know why it took so long or realy why they asked Meg and H.. since they had nothing to do with it. Or why they shodl get praise for suggesting a charity...

If there hadn't been a wedding then there would have been no money to donate so to state that Harry and Meghan had 'nothing to do with it' is incorrect.

The BBC asked the couple where they wanted the donation to go and it has gone to supply an urgent need, to put food in hungry people's stomachs. I think it's a great cause and good on Harry and Meghan for choosing it.

I'll just add that the donation just happened to come about when it was most needed. Makes sense to me. ?

I didnt' think that. I thought they chose Canada because it was near the USA and less expensive. but I suspect that their suddene move to LA now, was partly due to Doria's living there and partly/mainly due to the fact that they can't work at present and the Canadians were not going to pay their security any more.. However Charles is probably paying their security in LA.. so they are not really reducing the burden on SOMEONE. Perhaps they hoped that being on the spot in LA, they could start off working in movies or the like as soon as restrictions lifted.
However I have come to think that perhaps they alway DID intend to move to USA in due course, just they would have stayed in Canada for a while, if the Can Govt still paid for security. Perhaps their intention was always to be In LA meeting glamorous people and making their money through Hollywood and Canada was either a blind or a first stop.

I wonder if they'll really need all that security anyway, now that they are no longer working royals.
I'm often in NYC and there are plenty of famous people there, you often see them walking on the streets. They are perfectly fine without bodyguards, and nobody bothers them.

When Beatrice and Eugenie were living there, and even when they are going all over London, they don't seem to need - or receive- any massive security.

Merely famous people are not considered in any danger. They have bodyguards because of peoples interest in them.

It isn't common for instance in the UK for well known people to have bodyguard except at times when the paparazzi were uncontrollable but that doesn't happen in the UK anymore.

Harry and therefore his wife and child are considered at risk so have bodyguards. Whether this continues long term I do not know.

Beateice and Eugenie do have bodyguards. At least most of the time.

I kind of liked the suggestion of having burly hockey players as bodyguards. Right now, there's a whole lot of NHL hockey players with time on their hands.

As the Sussexes are private citizens now, we'll probably never know the exact details of their security. Along with the risk level, its not something that should be common knowledge in the public domain. Kind of detracts from the idea of having security in the first place.

For me it is reason enough. They were the people who sold this wedding! And I don't understand why there should be a problem? Maybe the BBC offered and maye they had to as part of the parcel but in the end the money went to an important charity which feeds people instead of being given, let's say, to Aidan Turner for making another soap... The people who work at the BBC don't need that money as much as the people who get food are needing to eat, that's my point. I don't undertsand how this could be used as an argument against Harry & Meghan???


It is IMHO on the same line as the DM writing several times in their recent article about H&M doing charity deliveries, that they used a Porsche SUV to drive to a place where they could walk their dogs and then you look at the pic and it's obvious that their car is a much cheaper and less noble KIA!

Right now as most people are home and seeing the Uk through the lense of tv and internet, he has the same perspective as any of them. The same his brother would have at Amner watching the news. Or his father in Scotland. The reality is that in modern world you don't actually have to be on the same street to know what is going on.

Nor was he only speaking of the UK. He said the human spirit across the globe. Including in the US and Canada where he has been during this.


Reality is there is a lot of false information out there. In the US that seems to be a big issue. He isn't wrong on that.

My only concern is that they don't do what is the royals remit.

However, surely what they are successful doing depends on how much public support and appetite there is for their work. Unfortunately they do not have the resources to be independent of public support.

I’ll concede your point about his being in LA and not the UK, but for me, Harry’s comments were irresponsible. He should have left it at saying the idea that the “human spirit” is astounding, but instead he spoke of the media making the overall situation (because that’s how I and a lot of people read it) worse...and that ticks me off. Not only is the situation horrifying, but it’s the media reporting the facts; I’m tired of Harry’s hatred of the media.

They bought the pictures from American photographers. There would have been hundreds and some would have had them at the car. There is nothing more to it than that.

As for the house. Well there are no pictures. If they don't where they live. How on earth could they comment about the house. I agree.
