Monday 19 april, the NOS will broadcast a interview with Prince Johan Friso and Mabel Wisse Smit. The couple is interviewed by Maartje van Weegen and Paul Witteman. They talk about subjects like, the future en Klaas Bruinsma.
-------------------
Herhaling gesprek; dinsdag 20 april, 12.13 – 12.52 uur, Nederland 1

1400 people? I thought that they'd have a smaller wedding since they didn't get "permission" for this wedding...Well it's good that Mabel and J-F are going to have their special day too.
When J-F marries Mabel will he lose the 'HRH' title? Would he be 'Prince Johan-Friso of the Netherlands'? Would Mabel receive a title? Would Johan-Friso and Mabel's future children be excluded in the line of succession too?
Sad...if Mabel hadn't lied maybe it wouldn't have come to this. :(

Umm, I don't know about that. I suspect they wouldn't have given their permission even if she told them upfront.

Yes- However, one should always be truthful. Especially when it comes to future in-laws and family.... With anyone and everyone for that matter..... That was her mistake. Sorry their mistake to not say anything....

Well, as Mabel had be open and honest about her past, the Dutch journalists hadn't digged up Charlie da Silva and Mohammed Sacirby to tell the truth. If Mabel had be open, then we all had forgave her, because the pressure from the press wasn't high then.

Mabel was questioned as to whether or not she'd had any association with a known career criminal. She lied about it, saying, "no." Eventually it was discovered that the two had a relationship. Her major fault was lying. She should have simply admitted it. This man was a public individual in that his business and reputation was well-known in many circles. It was definitely possible that someone would eventually link her to the man. In these situations it is better to tell the truth or even volunteer the information if possible. It is never good to be proven to be a liar. Obviously it is clear why she lied.
As someone to soon become a Princess of Netherlands after her engagement, Mable wouldn't want the public to know that she was once involved with a crime boss. That's understandable, but lying about it was worse. This was something that was not impossible to discover or prove.
It was also very insulting to assume that people would not have understood or eventually forgiven it. Now, that she has lied and Johan-Friso along with her, Johan-Friso had to forfit his succession rights. Who knows, what would have happend had she been honest? It may not have been as horrible as they may have thought.

Johan Willem Friso will lose his title of Prince of the Netherlands, BUT he will recieved THE PERSONAL title of Prince of Oranje-Nassau. Because of this Mabel can be adressed as Princess because of the fact that her husband is a prince, but she won't be a princess in her own right. (Just as Laurentien)
Their (future) sister in law, Máxima, was created a princess, so she's a princess in her own right.
When JWF and Mabel will get children hey will be adressed as Count(ess) of Oranje-Nassau, von Amsberg, just as Eloïse and Claus-Casimir

How unfortunate! Yet they still appear to be very happy in the pictures. He must love her a lot to forfeit his succession rights to the throne for her. I would not that of someone who wanted to marry me :(

My guess is that he did but hoped for the best that they would take their [the couple's] word for it and leave it at that. Which the agency did. If those two former crime boss croonies had kept their mouths shut, no one would have been the wiser until after the wedding, most likely.

Has anyone seen the guest list for the wedding? Since the wedding isn't "approved" by the Dutch Government, does that mean that many royals won't be attending? I know a previous post on the Swedish board said that no Swedish royals would be attending.

I copied this from Netty's site (I hope that's OK):
"Today the official programme for the wedding day of Prince Friso of the Netherlands and Mabel Wisse Smit (April 24) was issued. The couple will leave Palace Noordeinde in The Hague by car at 10:00. From 10:30 to 11:00 the civil wedding takes place at the Town Hall where the wedding will be solemnized by the Mayor of Delft, Mr H.M.C.H. van Oorschot. The ceremony will be attended by close family, friends of the couple and authorities (about 50 guests). The couple will travel to the Old Church by car. From 11:30 to 13:00 the religious wedding will take place in the Old Church. The Minister is Ds. Carel A. ter Linden, retired clergyman of the Kloosterkerk in The Hague. Among the invited guests are, next to family and friends, royal guests and authorities (about 1400 guests). After the religious wedding the bridal couple will travel back to Palace Noordeinde by car. There a déjeuner takes place. "
I searched the Dutch Royal Family web site for a guest list but to no avail ....... :(

Just saw the interview of Friso and Mabel, and I must say: a very open, honest and well done interview!!!!
Friso and Mabel were (in my opinion) very honest and open about the last months and the whole Klaas Bruinsma-affair.
I think they've just earned a wonderful applause!
