Princess Manuela of Urach died on August 12 this year, aged 72.
She was born in 1945 as the daughter of Prince Albrecht of Urach (1903-1969) and his second wife Ute Waldschmidt (1922-1984). In 1967 she married Sergius von Cube. They had two daughters, Vera (*1968) and Katharina (*1970). She is survived by her husband, daughters, and two grandchildren Vera and Constantin Werz.

Prince Albrecht of Liechtenstein, Baron von Landskron died in Paris on 5 August.
He was born on 28 May 1940 in Moravský Šternberg as the third of four children of Prince Johannes of Liechtenstein (1910-1975) & his wife Countess Karoline von Ledebur-Wicheln (1912-1996).
He married firstly (morganatically) on 3 September 1966 in Vaduz, Tamara Nyman (b.1939). They had two children Tatjana (1965-2001) and Albrecht (b.1967) but divorced in 1971.
He married civilly for second time on 24 July 1971 in Las Vegas, Mylena Tullio (b.1940) and had with her another daughter, Lorenza (b.1973).
Apart from his son and youngest daughter he leaves his brother Eugen (b.1942) & his sister Barbara (b.1942; widow of Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia), sister-in-law, Princess Maria-Theresia, nee Countess von Goess (b.1945; Eugen's wife), two nephews: Johannes (b.1969) & Dushan (b.1977) [only child of Barbara and Alexander] and three nieces: Anna (b.1970), Marie (b.1974) & Sophie (b.1984) with their families.
His oldest sister Maria Eleonore (1937-2008) died unmarried and childless.

Horst Dierkes, second husband of Princess Guda of Waldeck and Pyrmont (*1939), died this year.
He was born in 1939. In 1968, following her divorce from her first husband the Friedrich Wilhelm, Prince of Wied, he married Princess Guda. They had two sons together, Vicco (*1970) and Christian (*1974).
He is survived by his wife, sons, and two grandsons Joe and Robin, as well as his stepson Prince Alexander of Wied and three step-grandchildren through his late stepson Carl, Prince of Wied.

Princess Isabel of Brazil died in Rio de Janeiro on 5 November, exactly seven months after her 73rd birthday.
She was born in La Bourboule as fourth of twelve children and eldest daughter of Prince Pedro Henrique of Brazil (1909-1981) & his wife Maria ELisabeth, nee Princess of Bavaria (1914-2011).
She was unmarried and childless.
And first of the siblings to pass away.
She left eight brothers, three sisters, numerous nieces and nephews with their families.

Princess and Landgravin Oda-Mathilde of Hesse, née von Garmissen died on 3 June.
She was born on 12 February 1935 in Friedrichshausen.
She married in Friedrichshausen on 5 August 1961 Prince and Landgrave Wilhelm of Hesse (b.1933) [son of Prince Wilhelm Ernst Alexis Hermann of Hesse (1905-killed in action in Gor, Russia 1942) & his wife, Princess Marianne of Prussia (1913-1983)] by whom she had two sons Wilhelm (b.1963) & Otto (b.1965) as well as six grandsons and one granddaughter.

Prince Peter of Hohenberg died sometime this month at the age of 81.
He was born in 1936 and the fifth of six children of Maximilian, Duke of Hohenberg (1902-1962) (who was a son of Archduke Franz Ferdinand) and his wife Countess Elisabeth of Waldburg zu Wolfegg und Waldsee (1904-1993). From 1970 to 1980 he was married to Christina-Maria Meilinger-Rehrl (*1945). They had two daughters, Marie-Christine (*1970) and Marie-Therese (*1972).
He is survived by his daughters and grandson Maximilian Bailey (son of Marie-Therese and her former husband Anthony Bailey), as well as three of his brothers.

Sheikha Shaikha bint Saeed bin Maktoum died on 28 January.
She was a daughter of Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Hasher Al Maktoum (Emir Saeed II of Dubai, 1878–1958) and his first wife, Sheikha Hessa bint Al Murr
She married her cousin Sheikh Maktoum bin Juma bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, and had numerous influential children most notably Sheikha Hind (b.1962) as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Princess Helene of Bavaria, née Countess von Khevenhüller-Metsch died in Bad Hindelang on Christmas Day.
She was born in Vienna on 4 April 1921 as the youngest of four children of Franz, Prince of Khevenhüller-Metsch (1889-1977) & his wife Anna, nee Princess of
Fürstenberg (1894-1928).
She was married twice:she married firstly in St.Georg am Lingsee civilly on 14 August and religiously in Hochosterwitz on 15 August 1953 Prince Konstantin of Bavaria (1920- died in air accident in 1969)[son of Prince Adalbert of Bavaria (1886-1970) & his wife, Countess Auguste von Seefried auf Buttenheim (1899-1978)].She was for him the second wife; his first marriage, with Princess Maria Adelgunde of Hohenzollern (1921-2006) ended in divorce in 1948 (after six years) and was religiously annulled two years later. This marriage produced two sons: Leopold (b.1943) & Adalbert (b.1944).
In 1954, their only child together, a daughter named Ysabel, was born.She married secondly - fifteen and a half months after the tragic death of her first husband - civilly in Munich on 16 November and religiously in Innsbruck on 21 November 1970 his distant relative, Prince Eugen of Bavaria (1925-1997) [son of Prince Konrad of Bavaria (1883-1969) & his wife, Bona Margherita Princess of Savoy (1896-1971)].
She is survived by her only daughter Ysabel, son -in-law, Count Alfred Hoyos (b.1951, grandchildren Stephanie (b.1977) and Johannes (b.1978, grandchildren-in-law Baron Franz von Brackel (b.1971) and Veronika, nee Wundsam (b.1980) and four great-grandchildren: Constantin (b.2006), Antonia (b.2008) & Johanna (b.2010) von Brackel and Count Balthazar Hoyos (b.2015); her youngest great-grandson, Count Ludwig Hoyos died this year as a baby (or was stillborn).
She is also survived by her two stepsons, their spouses, children and grandchildren.

 Her eldest stepson is Prince Leopold, Prince Carl Philip's godfather. We see him and his son Manuel at many of the Scandinavian weddings/events. Leopold and his brother were raised by their maternal grandparents after their parents were divorced, at Schloss Umkirch. Leopold is actually only a few months younger then his mother's youngest brother, his Uncle Ferfried.
Her second husband Eugen and Konstantine were related twice over. Konstantine is the great-great grandson of Ludwig I of Bavaria through his son Adalbert. Eugen is his great-great grandson twice over. Eugen's father is descended from Ludwig's son Lutipolt. Eugen's mother is also descended from Ludwig, but like Konstantine, she is descended from Adalbert. So through Eugen's mother, they share a common great-grandfather (generation closer).

Prince Francois of Orleans, Count of Clermont died 31 December.
He was born in Boulogne-sur-Seine on7 February 1961 as second of five children and first son of Henri, Count of Clermont and of Mortain; on the death of his father he assumed the title Count of Paris, and also that of "Duke of France" (b.1933) & his first wife, Marie-Therese Duchess of Württemberg (b.1934) who was created Duchess of Montpensier in 1984 after their divorce. Because his mother suffered from toxoplasmosis during pregnancy, he was born mentally disabled, as was his younger sister, Princess Blanche (b.1962).
Apart from his parents, he lft his four siblings: Marie (b.1959; now Prncess Gundaccar of Liechtenstein), Blanche (b.1962), Jean, Duke of Vendome (b.1965) & Eudes (b.1968) as well as six nieces and five nephews.
