Countess Jutta von Platen-Hallermund nee Hahn died sometime this year.


She was born in Gluckstadt on 13 June 1925 and married there on 31 January 1947 Count Ernst von Platen-Hallermund (1924-2007) [son of Count Herbert von Platen-Hallermund (1888-1945) & his second wife Charlotte Schultz (1903-1993)] by whom she had an only son Ernst-Gunther (b.1948; married to Barbel Kropdlowski, b.1957) and two granddaughters: Sandra (b.1986) & Meike (b.1991).

Christine Maria Bengels, former Countess Michael of Kageneck, died this year.


She was born in 1942 and in 1964 she married Count Michael of Kageneck (1941-2012) [son of Princess Elisabeth of Bavaria (1913-2005) & her first husband, CountFranz Joseph of Kageneck (1915-1941)]; their marriage lasted only six years (divorce in 1970).
She had with him three children: Martin (b.1964), Alexandra (b.1966) & Andreas (b.1968) and eight grandchildren: one of them - Paul, son of Alexandra - died in 1990 aged three.
Other children of Alexandra are twin sister of Paul named Lisa and Peter (b.1991).
Of Martin: Jens (b.1991) and Pena Lucia (b.2006)
Of Andreas: Greta, Ida and Romy.

Count Renaud d'Ursel died on June 17, age 62. He was the second of three children of Count Serge d'Ursel (1924-1995) and Michelle de Foestraets (1929-2008). He did not marry or have children. He is survived by his sister Chantal and her family, as well as the family of his late brother Antoine.

Prince Alexandre Bertrand Galitzine died on 9 July.

He was born in Paris on 3 December 1936 as oldest of three children of Prince Alexander Galitzine 1910-1988) & his wife Helene, nee Bonnell (1915-2005); he had a brother Patrice (1939-2005) and a sister Catherine (b.1944).
He was married twice: married firstly in Bourron-Marlotte on 29 June 1961 Marie-Claude Louise Montavon (b.1936).
They had three children: Alexandre "Stephane" (b.1961), Sophie (b.1963) & Irene (b.1964).
They divorced in 1998; the same year Alexandre Bertrand married in Washington on 9 May Christine Baker Howard (b.1951).

Apart from his wife children and sister he leaves four granddaughters [children of his son & daughter-in-law, Isabelle, nee Leray (b.1963)]: Charlotte (b.1988), Vanda (b.1991), Alexandra (b.1992) & Marie-Catherine (b.2003); his only grandson Gregoire died on 28 November 1987 just ten days after birth - as well as two sons-in-law: Franck Perrollaz (b.1966) [Sophie's husband] & Eric Boisteau (b.1964) [Irene's husband] and three nephews and three nieces [Patrice's children] with their families.

Both his daughters married the same year - in 2008:
Sophie & Franck - on 27 September.
Irene & Eric - on 22 November.

Prince Charles of Croy died in Uccle on 19 July, a month and two days after his 66th birthday.

He was born in Rumilies as fourth and youngest child of Prince Emmanuel of Croy (1908-1997) & his wife, Countess Nicole de Marnix de Sainte-Adelgonde (1909-2011).
He leaves two sisters: Isabelle (b.1945) & Marie (b.1946) and brother Guillaume (b.1950) with their families.
He was unmarried and childless.

Charlotte d'Harcourt, nee de Laminne de Bex, died in Baionville on 21 June.

She was born in Ixelles on 19 March 1934.
She married in Etterbeek on 27 April 1957 Michel d'Harcourt (b.1929) [son of Gerard d'Harcourt (1889-1981) & his wife Hedwige, nee Countess de Ribeaucourt (1901-1988)] by whom she had five children: Sophie (b.1958), twins Gerard (b.1960) & Olivier (1960-2012), Valerie (b.1957) & Clement (b.1976).
She is survived by her four children and their families.

Count Bernard de Rochefoucault died on 18 July, twenty days fefore his 95th birthday.

He was born in Paris as fourth of five children of Pierre, Count de La Rochefoucault-Estissac (1887-1970) & his wife Henriette, nee de la Roche (1892-1980).
He married in Paris on 15 December 1949 Marie Birgitte Brian (b.1928) by whom he had five children: Edmond (b.1951), Anne (b.1953), Sabine (b.1958), Sophie (b.1960) & Paul (b.1965).
He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is last of his parents' children to pass away.

Prince Philippe de Bethune-Hesdigneul died in Orbais on 15 July.

He was born in Brussels on 24 September 1959 as youngest of three children and only son of Prince Albert de Bethune-Hesdigneul (1916-1986) & his second wife Geneviève Countess du Chastel de la Howarderie (1912-24 September 1959) who died giving birth to him and bereaving also Mahaut (b.8 April 1951) & Isabelle (b.12 April 1952).
When he was 22 months old, on 31 July 1961, his widowed father married, for the third time, Jacqueline de Bengy Puyvallée (1917-1993).
He married in Maulde, Belgium 25 May 1991 Dominique Marie Ghislaine Cossé de Maulde (b.1961)by whom he had three sons: Charles (who turned 25 a day before the death of his father), Gatien (who will turn 23 on 30 August) & Hugues (who will turn 21 on 8 November).
He leaves his wife, sons and both sisters with their families.

Prince Andrea Neri Corsini died in July.

He was born in Florence on 11 January 1943 as second of five children and eldest son of Prince Neri Corsini, Marquess of Giovagallo (1909-1973) & his wife Laura Ginori Lisci, Marchioness of Riparbella (1913-1995).
He married in Villa Corsini delle Mozzete, San Piero a Sieve on 1 July 1973 Cristina Maestrini; they had two daughters: Allegra Diletta (b.1975) & Domitilla Caterina (b.1978).
Apart from his wife and daughters he leaves his sister Paola (b.1939) and brothers Lorenzo Stefano (b.1946) & Clemente (b.1953); his third brother Roberto predeceased him in 1984, seven weeks before his 34th birthday.

Donna Ilaria Imperiali died in June.

She was born in Rome on 3 November 1973 as third of four children and younger daughter of Don Andrea Imperiali (b.1389) & his late wife Eleonora, nee Countess Pignatti Morano di Custozza (1947-2006).
Apart from her father she leavesher sister Severa (b.1970) and brothers Cristiano (b.1972) & Lorenzo (b.1977) with their families.

Count Eberhard of Stolberg-Wernigerode died on 17 April.

He was born in Hirschberg, Silesia on 19 June 1931 as an only child of Count Christian Friedrich of Stolberg-Wernigerode (1901-1994) & his wife Anneliese, nee Countess von Rothkirch und Trach (1896-1967).
He was married twice: firstly (from 1956 to 1972) to Freiin Anna Elisabeth von der Borch (b.1935) & secondly (from 1973) to Barbara von Lindeiner gen. von Wildau (b.1935).
By his first wife he had three daughters: Ernestine (b.1957), Huberta (b.1959) & Susanne (b.1962) and by second wife - a son Constantin (b.1975).

Prince Alexis Troubetzkoy died in Toronto on 22 January.

He was born in Clamart on 6 March 1934 as eldest of three children and only son of Prince Sergei Troubetzkoy (1906-2003) & his wife Princess Ljubov Alekseievna Obolensky (1912-1991).
He married in Rome on 14 June 1967 Hélène Khlebnikov (b.1935) by whom he had a daughter Anna and a son Andre.
Apart from his wife and children he leaves a sister Elisabeth (b.1945); his other sister Maria predeceased him in 2010 (aged nearly 72).

Countess Amelie Szechenyi, nee de Hemptinne died in Sion, Switzerland, on 4 April; she would have turned 40 on 28 August.

She bereft her husband since 2005, Count Gabriel Szechenyi, who will turn 44 on 30 August [son of Count Gabriel "Gabor" Szechenyi (b.1943) & his first wife Agnes de Regis de Gatimel (b.1950)] and two little sons: Maxime (b.2012) & Julian (b.2014).

So very sad...two little boys left motherless...

Count George de La Rochefoucault died on 26 May.

He was born in Toulon on 4 February 1930 as fourth of six children and second son of Count Gilbertde La Rochefoucault, Duke de La Roch-Guyon (1889-1964) and second child by his second wife Marie Louise Lerchen (1899-1984).
He married in Paris on 7 May 1958 Jacqueline d'Etigny de Sérilly de Teil de Chappelaine (b.1929) by whom he had five sons: Guillaume (b.1959), Louis (b.1961), Hugues (b.1962), Anne-Mathieu (b.1964) & Charles-Aymon (b.1968) and seventeen grandchildren.

Claude Burin de Roziers, nee Countess de La Rochefoucault died on 1 June.

She was born in Paris on 22 December 1948 as as fourth of six children of Count Alexandre de La Rochefoucault, Duke of Estissac (1917-2008) & his wife Antoinette de Moustier (1923-2015).
She married in Combreux on 22 February 1974 Antoine Marie Burin des Roziers (b.1947).
She is the first of her siblings to pass away.

She was born inParis on 19 July 1921 as an only child of Count Gaston de La Rochefoucault (1893-1309) & his wife Anne de Crussol d'Uzes (1885-1984).
She married in Paris on 24 November 1955 Douglas Stuart Allen (b.1923).

Princess Ghislaine Sapieha-Kodenski, nee van Cutsem died in Saint-Malo on 26 July.


She was born in Metz on 23 February 1944 and became a second wife of Prince Michał Sapieha-Kodenski (1930-2013), widower of Jonkvrouw Myriam de Decker de Brandeken (1929-1997).


She leaves two stepsons Alexander (b.1953) & Stefan (b.1956) and their families.

Don Giuseppe Imperiali died on 4 May.

He was born in Mercato San Severino on 3 February 1932 as fourth of eleven children of Don Emanuele Imperiali, Duke and Marquess Imperiali, Prince of Francavilla (1896-1981)& his wife (and distant relative) Donna Maria Adelaide Imperiali (1907-1987).
He was married to a woman named Maria Lavinia.

His siblings are: Luciano (heir of the titles, b.1927), Maria Immacolata (b.1929), Gianluca (1930-2002), Maria Amalia (b.1933), Antonio (b.1935), Luigi (b.1938), Maria Loreta (b.1940), Francesco (b.1940, twin of Maria Loreta), Gerardo (b.1942) & Pio Lanfranco (b.1945).

Don Antonello Ruffo di Calabria,a brother of Queen Paola of Belgium, died in Rome on 24 August.

He was born in Rome on 31 May as the sixth and penultimate child of Don Fulco Ruffo, Prince Ruffo di Calabria (1884-1946) & his wife Luisa Gazelli (1896-1989) [herself firstborn child of Augusto Gazelli [dei conti di Rossana] (1855-1937) & his wife Maria Cristina Rignon (1858-1930)].
He married in Palermo on 4 January 1961 Rosa Maria Mastrogiovanni Tasca (b.Regaleasi 12 Jun 1943) but they divorced in 1978.
They had five children: Covella (b.1962), Lucio (b.1964), Domitila (b.1965), Claudia (b.1969) & Valentina (DOB unknown) as well as four grandchildren: Flavia (b.1990) & Filippo (b.1995) Porcari Li Destri [children of Domitila & hher late husband Don Giovanni dei Baroni Porcari Li Destri (1957-1995) and Leonardo (b.1991) & Marina (b.1994) Salom [children of Claudia & her husband Marcello Salom (b.1957).

Oliver Doria d'Angri died this year.

He was a son of Queen Paola's maternal second cousin Princess Donna Giovanna Pignatelli Aragona Cortés (1933-2000) & her first husband Georges Roulet, who became Georges Roulet Doria d’Angri (1923-1992); they divorced when Oliver was nine (born in 1957) and his brother Fabrice - ten (born in 1956).
When Oliver was 17 and Fabrice 18 their mother married again (in 1974) Gerard Bruneau, 13 years her junior (b.1946); four years later (in 1978), at 45 (and her sons were 22 and 21 respectively) she gave birth to her last child, Thierry Bruneau Pignatelli Aragona Cortes.
Donna Giovanna and Geard Bruneau separated in 1996 but apparently never officially divorced.
Previous year (in 1995) Oliver married Benedetta Frasca (b.1968) by whom he had his only child, Marcantonio (b.1998).
Apart from his wife and son, her left his brother Fabrizio, sister-in-law Patrizia della Nesta, nephew Niccolo (b.1992) and niece Giulia (b.1998).
His much younger half-brother Thierry died untimely in 2012 aged 34 (he was unmarried and childless)

Count Alfred von Enzenberg zum Freyen und Jöchelsthurn died reportedly in August.

He was born in 1924 as firstborn son of Count Hubert von Enzenberg zum Freyen und Jöchelsthurn (1899-1984) & his wife Baroness Leonhilde Klezl von Norburg (1899-1983).
He married in 1952 Elisabeth Junker (1924-2013) by whom he had three children: Ernst (b.1953), Maria (b.1956) & Wolfgang (b.1960).
Apart from his children he is survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandsons.

He was born in Uccle on 16 December 1956 as third of four children and younger son of Count Daniel of Ursel (1928-1997) & his wife Eliane, nee Dedyn (1927-1990).
He married in Auderghem civilly on 12 September and religiously on 19 September 1981 Viviane Dallemagne (b.1959) by whom he had three daughters: Nathalie (b.1984), Laetitia (b.1985) & Oriane (b.1988).
Apart from his wife, daughters and their families he left also his brother Patrick (b.1949) and sisters Kathleen (b.1953) & Anita (b.1959) with their families.

Jadwiga Teresa Maria de San, nee Princess Sapieha-Kodeńska, great-aunt of Queen Mathilde of Belgium, died in Sterrebeek on 13 September.

She was born in Bobrek (Poland) on 15 December 1924 as fifth of eight children of Adam Zygmunt, Prince Sapieha-Kodeński (1892-1970) & his wife Teresa, nee Countess Sobańska (1891-1975); Zofia Maria (1919-1997), maternal grandmother of the Queen, was their firstborn.
She married in in Belgian Congo on 17 May 1947 Maurice de San (1911-1997) by whom she had her only son Michel (b. around 1950) who married in 1975 Genevieve Cayron (b.1950).
Apart from her son and daughter-in-law she leaves a sister Maria Ludwika (b.1931, only remaining sibling) and numerous nephews and nieces with their families.

She was born in 1919 and in 1941 became a wife of Franz-Joseph, Count von Seefried auf Buttenheim (1905-1969) [youngest of five children of Princess Elisabeth of Bavaria (1874-1957) & her husband Otto, Count von Seefried auf Buttenheim (1870-1951)] by whom she had four children: Franz-Georg (b.1942, current Count von Seefried auf Buttenheim), Ferdinand (b.1944), Isabelle (b.1949) & Johannes (b.1958).
Apart from four children she leaves six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was born in 1952 as a daughter of of Maria Eleanor von Oswald (1922-1986) & her husband Hubert, Baron von Perfall (1910-2006)].
She married Ali Seif Nasseri (1950-2012).
She leaves her only brother Benedikt, Baron von Perfall (b.1947), sister-in-law Marie, nee Countess of Waldburg of Wolfegg and Waldsee (b.1948) their two children and three grandchildren.

Bonifatius, Freiherr von Twickel died in Nottuln on 24 March.


He was born on 7 July 1933 in Havixbeck. In 1989 he married Cicilly in La-Roche-en-Ardennes on 8 September and religiously in Bois-St-Jean on 9 September Countess Jacqueline of Limburg-Stirum (b.1933) [daughter of Count Charles of Limburg-Stirum (1906-14 July 1989) & his wife, Princess Maria Kunigunde of Lobkowicz (1906-2005)] by whom he had two sons: Gottfried and Jan-Rudolf.
Both are already married: Gottfried to Freiin Marie-Elisabeth von und zu Franckenstein, Jan-Rudolf to Countess Bianca von Magnis.

Married couple died this year after 67 years together:

Count Jakob Douglas (b.1927) [oldest of four children of Count Oscar Douglas (1896-1991) & his wife Dagmar, nee Skarstedt (1901-1993)] & his wife Hedvig, nee Thielers (b.1930).

They married in 1950 and had a daughter Cristina (1951-2010) who predeceased them and a son Wilhelm (b.1956) as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Also Count Jakob's youngest sister, Baroness Maria von Redwitz, nee Countess Douglas (b.1941) died this year.

She married in 1967 Baron Eugen von Redwitz (b.1939) by whom she had three children: Franz (b.1968), Katharina (b.1969) & Nathalie (b.1972) as well as eleven grandchildren.

Their sister Countess Anna Douglas (b.1936) died last year; the only living sibling is Count Gustaf Otto Douglas (b.1930).

Countess Margret von Schönborn, née Gschwind died on 13 September.

She was born in Therwil, Switzerland, on 12 June 1927and married in Oberstadionon 21 March 1968 Count Zdenko Friedrich Franz Edmund Theophil Cajetan Mariavon Schönborn (1917-1993) [youngest of five children and younger son of Count Maria Aloys Karl Wilhelm (1879-1960) & his wife Countess Maria Coudenhove (1886-1940)].
She became his fourth wife; his first marriage ended in divorces. She married him thirteen and a half months after his last wife's death.
She left stepson Alexander (b.1941) and a stepdaughter Anjelica (b.1942) [children of her husband from his first marriage to Ingeborg von Bomhard (1918-1999) with their families.

Izabella Maria Gabriela du Bois d'Aische, nee Princess Światopołk-Czetwertyńska died on 5 October.

She was born on 14 July 1934 in Warsaw as oldest of nine children of Prince Stanislaw Tomasz Światopołk-Czetwertyńska (1910-1997) & his wife, Baroness Eva Buxhoeveden (1910-1991).
She married civilly in Nivelles on 27 June 1958 and religiously in Warsaw on 30 August 1958 Philippe du Bois d'Aische (b.1930) [son of Raoul Roger du Bois d'Aische (1880-1933) & his wife, Andree Calmeyn (1896-1948)] by whom she had five children: Christine (b.1959), Veronique (b.1960), Louis (b.1963), Gilles (b.1963) & Ferdinand (b.1975) and eighteen grandchildren.

She was born posthumously on 8 January 1915 as second daughter of Captain Lord Richard Wellesley, of the Grenadier Guards (1879-1914) [himself third of six children and second son of Arthur Charles Wellesley, 4th Duke of Wellington (1849-1934) & his wife Kathleen Emily Bulkeley Williams (1848-1927] who was killed in action on 29 October 1914, by his wife the former Louise Nesta Pamela FitzGerald (1999-1946),daughter of Sir Maurice FitzGerald, 2nd Baronet, CVO, 20th Knight of Kerry.
She had an older sister Pamela (1914-1997).
Her mother married secondly, in 1917, her first husband's brother (the youngest of six siblings), Major Lord George Wellesley (1889-1967) by whom she had a son, Richard (1920-1984).

She was unmarried.
She leaves her siblings' children and grandchildren.
She outlived two of her nephews [sons of her half-brother Richard & his first wife Ruth Haig-Thomas (1924-2008)] who died the same year 2009: Charles - in March [born October 1955; bereft two daughters: Rosanna (b.October 1989) & Charlotte (b.October 1992)], John - in August (born January 1962; bereft a son Thomas (b.2000)

Lord Roger Manners died this year.

He was born in London on 23 September 1925 as the youngest of five children and third son of John Henry Montagu Manners, the 9th Duke of Rutland (1886-1940) & his wife Kathleen Tennant (1894-1989), scion of the Barons Glenconner.

Lord Roger, who lived at Heddington, Wiltshire, married on 8 March, 1965 Finola St Lawrence Daubeney, by whom he had two daughters, Moira (b.1966) & Phoebe (b.1968).

Lady Michael Fitzalan Howard died on 23 September.

She was the third wife and widow of Major-Gen Lord Michael Fitzalan-Howard, KCVO, CB, CBE, MC (1916-2007), scion of the Dukes of Norfolk.

Her maiden name was Victoria Winifred (Vita) Russell, daughter of Colonel Reginald Russell, CVO, CBE, DSO, and married firstly in 1949, Major Sir Mark Baring, KCVO (1916-1988), scion of the Earls of Cromer, by whom she had 2 daughters; married 2ndly on 2 July 1997 in London Major-General Lord Michael Fitzalan Howard, youngerr brother of Miles Francis Stapleton Fitzalan Howard the 17th Duke of Norfolk (1915-2002). Both brothers were the eldest of eight children of Bernard Edward, 3rd Lord Howard of Glossop (London 10 May 1886-24 Aug 1972) & his wife Mona Josephine Tempest Stapleton, 11th Baroness Beaumont (1894-1971).
Her elder daughter, Lavinia, was Extra Lady-in-Waiting to Diana, Princess of Wales.
Apart from her own childrenand grandchildren she left three stepchildren: Jean Mary (b.28 July 1947; her mother, Joan Marion Hamilton-Dalrymple, died giving birth to her)as well as Isabel Margaret (b.1951) & Thomas Michael (b.1952) [her husband's children by his second wife, Jane Margaret Meade Newman (1921-25 Dec 1995) with their families.

The Lady Herries of Terregles, DCVO, fifteenth holder of the Peerage of Scotland (cr 1489/90) died at her home on 7 April.

Lady Herries served Princess Alexandra the Hon Lady Ogilvy as Lady-in-Waiting for 53 years.

She was born Lady Mary Katherine Fitzalan Howard in 14 Belgrave Square in London on 14 August 1940 as the second of four daughters of Bernard MarmadukeFitzalan Howard, the 16th Duke of Norfolk, KG, GCVO, GBE (1908-1975), by his wife Honourable Lavinia Strutt (1916-1995), daughter of the 3rd Baron Belper.

Lady Mary was appointed a Lady-in-Waiting to Princess Alexandra in 1964; appointed CVO in 1982, and advanced to DCVO in 1995.

She married in 1986, Group Capt Anthony Mumford, CVO, OBE (died 2006). No issue of the marriage.

Lady Mary succeeded her elder sister, Anne, in the Lordship of Herries of Terregles, 23 Nov, 2014.

The peerage now passes to her younger sister, Jane (the youngest of four and only living) born 24 June, 1945, and wife since 1975 of the 13th Marquis of Lothian.

Count Raimund Adalbert of Erbach-Fürstenau died in Bad König on 2 September.

He was born on 2 April 1951 in Heidelberg as the firstborn child (of three) of Count Eugen zu Erbach-Fürstenau (1923-1987) & his wife Countess Elisabeth zu Erbach-Fürstenau (b.1929) [daughter of her husband's paternal first cousin].
He married civilly on 23 February 1976 in Munich and religiously on 28 February 1976 in Vienna Princess Isabella of Liechtenstein (b.1954; first cousin of the current Sovereign of Liechtenstein) [daughter of Prince Georg of Liechtenstein (1911-1998) & his wife Marie-Christine, nee Duchess of Wurtemberg (b.1924)] by whom he had four children Louis (b.1976), Philipp (b.1979), Nikolaus (b.1984) & Margarita (b.1986) and six granchildren: Maria Theodora (b.2011), Anna (b.2013) & Alexander, Viscount of Erbach-Furstenau (DOB unknown) [children of Louis & his wife Olga, nee Li (b.1978)] as well as Amalia (28-10-2008), Georg (b.2011) & Nikolaus (b.2014) [children of Philipp (b.1979) & his wife Juliette, nee Souchon (b.1977)].
Since 1988 he was the head of Erbach-Fürstenau family.
His brother Kraft died prematurely in 1980 aged 18.
His sister Lukardis died in 2005 aged 52. She was unmarried and childless.

Poor Countess Elisabeth, she lost all three of her children...

He was born in Naples on 7 January 1941 as youngest of four children of Don Gustavo Colonna (1907-1980) & his wife Maria Pansini (1909-?)He was a Jesuit priest.
He leaves brothers Filippo (b.1933) & Fabrizio (b.1937) and a sister Maria Giulia (b.1934) with their respective families.

She was aunt by marriage to Archduchess Elisabetta, Amadeo's wife. Her husband Nicola is Elisabetta's paternal half uncle (Nicola and Ettore are paternal half brothers). Nicola became the 10th prince after the death of his elder brother Carlo, who was Elisabetta's godfather.
 
Zofia Maria Antoinette Skórzyńska, nee Princess Radziwiłł died in Warsaw on 10 October.

She was born in Sichów on 1 May 1928 as third of five children and youngestdaughter of Prince Krzystof Mikolaj Artur Radziwiłł (1898-1986) & his wife Zofia Chościak-Popiel, coat of arms Sulima (1900-1991).
She married in Cracow on 1 January 1951 Zygmunt Skórzynski (b.1923) [son of Stanisław Wiktor Skórzyński (b. around 1887 -?) & his wife Zofia Czerwińska, coat of arms Lubicz (12 March 1892-4 December 1982)] by whom she had three children: Piotr (1952-2008), Jan Marcin (b.1954) & Urszula Dorota (b.1958) as well as three granddaughters: Julia Zofia (b.1979) married to Maciej Ślusarek (b.1970), Joanna Weronika (b.1982) & Katarzyna (b.1987) [all daughters of Jan Marcin & his wife Katarzyna Zofia, nee Zarańska (b.1959)].

Zofia Maria Antoinette is the last of the siblings to pass away.

In Vienna (a cite where she was born) on 29 October 1983 she became a wife of CountFelix Heinrich Pius Maria von Thun und Hohenstein(b.1959) [son of late CountJohann-Ernst von Thun und Hohenstein(1929-1996) & his wife Maria Ildefonsa, nee von Dahmen (b.1924)].
She is survived by her mother-in-law, brother-in-law Leonhard (b.1955), sister-in-law Christiane (b.1963), her husband and three children: Matteo (b.1984), Paula (b.1988) & Filippo (b.1990) as well as new daughter-in-law Josefa, nee Lovrek (Matteo's wife).

Prince Andrei Mystchetzky died on 26 June, his wife Princess Kerty Mystchetzky, nee Dalgaard Sand - on 2 July.

Prince Andrei was born in Copenhagen on 13 November 1917 as a son of Prince Danila Mystchetzky (1891-1981) & his wife Vera Wjatcheslavovna Gotovtzev (1894-1964).
He and Kerty (b.13 June 1914) married in Kolding (Denmark) on 9 September 1945.
They are survived by their three children: Anne (b.1946), Lene (b.1947) & Peter (b.1953) and their families.

Nearly 72 years together, wow!

Lady Jean Graham died on October 13 at the age of 96.

She was born in 1920 as the youngest child of the 6th Duke of Montrose and his wife Lady Mary Douglas-Hamilton. She married John Fforde in 1947. Before their divorce in 1957 they had one son, Charles. In addition to her son she is survived by her grandson, Marcus.

Victor George Spencer, 3rd Viscount Churchill died on 18 October.

He was born in London on 31 July 1934 as youngest of six children (posthumously) of Victor Albert Francis Charles Spencer, 3rd Lord Churchill, created Viscount Churchill in 1902, sometime Lord Chamberlain to King Edward VII (1864-3 Jan 1934) and second one by his second wife, Christine McRae Sinclair (1895-1972; later Lady Oliphant).Succeeded to the Viscouncty and Barony of Churchill on the death of his half-brother, Victor Alexander Spencer,the 2nd Viscount on 21 December 1973.
He was unmarried and childless.

The viscountcy of Churchill (created in 1902) now becomes extinct. The 3rd Viscount is succeeded in the barony of Churchill (created in 1815) by his second cousin once removed, Richard Harry Ramsay Spencer, born 11 October 1926, who becomes the 6th Baron Churchill.

Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, 10th Duke of Richmond & Gordon, owner of 'Glorious Goodwood' died 1 September.

The Duke, a direct descendant of King Charles II and Louise de Kerouaille, was Duke of Richmond, Duke of Lennox, Duc de Aubigny (in France), Duke of Gordon, Earl of March, Darnley and Kinrara, Baron Settrington & Lord Torbolton.

Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox was born on 19 September 1929 as older son of Frederick Charles Gordon-Lennox, 9th Duke of Richmond & Gordon (1904-1989) & his wife Elizabeth Grace, nee Hudson (1902-1992).
Succeeded to the family honours on the death of his father on 2 November 1989; served as Lord Lieutenant for West Sussex until his resignation in 1994; married on 26 May 1951, Susan Monica Grenville-Grey (b.1932), daughter of Colonel Cecil Grenville-Grey, CBE (& descended from the Morrison-Bell baronets), by whom he had three children:Elinor Caroline (b.1952), Charles Henry (b.1955) & Louisa Elizabeth (b.1967) and adopted daughters.

The Duke is succeeded by his only son, Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, styled Earl of March & Kinrara, who was born on 8 January 1955. The 11th Duke is married to the Hon Janet Elizabeth Astor, daughter of the 3rd Viscount Astor, by whom he has five children.

Anthony Charles Gordon-Lennox died on 7 October.

He was born on 29 April, 1969 as the youngest of four children and only son of Lord Nicholas Gordon-Lennox, KCMG, KCVO (1931-2004) & his wife Mary, nee Williamson, LVO (b 1934), sometime Lady-in-Waiting to HRH Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy, scion of the Williamson baronets.
Mr Gordon-Lennox was unmarried and childless.
He left his mother, three sisters: Sarah Caroline (b.1960), Henrietta Mary (b.1962) & Lucy Elizabeth (b.1965) and their families.

The Lady Ursula d'Abo, nee Manners died on 2 November, 2017.


Ursula Isabel Manners was born on 8 November, 1916 as the eldest of five children and elder daughter of John Henry Montagu Manners, the 9th Duke of Rutland (1886-1940) & his wife Kathleen, nee Tennant (1894-1989).

She married firstly on 25 July 1943 in Belvoir Anthony Freire Marreco (1915-2006) RNVR, scion of that landed family, only son of the late Geoffrey Marreco; the marriage was childless and ended in divorce in 1948.
She resumed her maiden name and married secondly on 22 November 1951 in Cambridge Robert Erland Nicolai d'Abo (1911-1970) scion of that landed family, elder son of Gerard Louis d'Abo, by whom she had two sons and one daughter.

She was one of the last surviving aristocrats to participate at the Coronation of King George VI & Queen Elizabeth, in May, 1937.

As the 20 year-old Lady Ursula Manners she acted as one of Queen Elizabeth's trainbearers in Westminster Abbey, and later appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, on May 12 1937.

Lady Ursula's brother, Lord Roger Manners, died in recent weeks.

She married on 14 January 1960 John Aymer Dalrymple, 13th Earl of Stair (1906-1996) by whom she had three sons: John David James (b.1961, 14th Earl of Stair), David Hew (b.1963) & Michael Colin (b.1965) and nine grandchildren.

Count Peter Széchényi died on November 1, aged 78.

He was born in 1939 in London as the only child of Count Sigmund Széchényi (1898-1967) and his first wife Stella Crowther (1913-1990). With his former wife Maureen he had one son, Robert (*1978). He is survived by his son, grandchildren Isabella, Eddie, and Alicia, his second wife Janie, and stepmother Margit.

Don Cristiano del Balzo di Presenzano died in November, around his 76th birthday.

He was born in Rome on 9 November 1941 as second of five sons of Don Giulio del Balzo di Presenzano, who was created Count del Balzo in1923 (1903-1993) & his wife Maria Elisabetta dei Marchesi Vavalletti del'Oliveto Sabino (1917-1995).
He married on 25ust Aug 1973 Isabella dei Conti Ginanni-Fantuzziby whom he had his only daughter Domitilla (b.1975).
Apart from wife and daughter he left siblings: Luca (b.1945), Ludovico (b.1951) & Renato (b.1953) with their families; his oldest brother Raimondelo died in 1995 aged 56.

Honourable Caroline Cecily Douglas-Scott-Montagu, former Mrs. George Weston died in
New Braunfels on 4 April.

She was born in London on 13 February 1925 as fourth of six children of John Walter Edward Douglas-Scott-Montagu, 2nd Lord Montagu of Beaulieu (1866-1929) and second by his second wife Alice Pearl Crake (1895-1996).
She married on 15 February 1950 George Grainger Weston but they divorced in 1987.

She is the last of the siblings to pass away.

Donna Orietta Boncompagni-Ludovisi, nee Orefici died on 1 July, seventeen months and five days after her husband, Don Luigi.

Don Luigi Boncompagni-Ludovisi was born in Rome on 20 July 1934 as a son of Don Giovanni Battista Maria Boncompagni-Ludovisi (1911-1964) & his wife (and paternal second cousin) Donna Giulia Boncompagni-Ludovisi (1914-1996).
He and Orietta married in Rome on 29 April 1965.
