Here's a beautiful and young Princess Christina on her graduation thank you card from the 1960's. The text in Swedish says: "Warm and heartfelt thanks for the congratulatory calls for my graduation"

Is Carl Gustaf the one that the Spanish press mistook for Princess Madeleine's boyfriend, when he showed up at the Spanish Royal Wedding with Carl Filip and Madeleine and was pictured with them?

Yes it was, Gustaf as he is called. Here's a pic from that occasion:

This past week, on 31 August 2005, Princess Christina was a guest of honour at the 400th jubilee celebrations of the city of Oulu in Finland.

During the visit she said that it was her first visit to the city, but remarked in her speech that she remembered the 1996 visit of her brother, King Carl XVI Gustaf together with Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria, and how warm they had been received by the city and its people.
- It is always nice to come to Finland, and in Oulu everything feels so nice and sunny

Pardon my ignorance, but is there a significance when graduating and wearing that sailor hat? I noticed Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine wore them too when they graduated. Is the high school graduation?

To wear that hat, called "studentmössa" in Swedish (translates to student hat), is a tradition when one graduates high school in Sweden.

Tjena GrandDuchess :)

Ah :) Thanks for bringing me up to speed on that one. The first time I saw it, I thought it was just one of those fads that come and go. Now I know better :)

Yesterday, 15 December, Princess Christina was awarded the Henry Dunant Medal from the Red Cross. This is the highest honour of the international Red Cross/Red Crescent movement.

Princess Christina Mrs Magnuson receives this medal for her over 30 year long commitment for the organisation and its work. She entered the Red Cross as a volunteer in 1973, acting as an ambassador for the Red Cross' humanitarian values and the international human rights. Princess Christina was also active in the work for a total ban on landmines. In 1986 she was elected into the Swedish Red Cross' board, and in 1993 she was elected as chairman. Princess Christina stayed on as Chairman of the Swedish Red Cross until 2002. Between 1995 and 2003, she was also one of five elected members of the International Red Cross' Permanent Commission, in which she lead the work to create the new symbol of the organisation (the red crystal).

Picuture one is by Pressens Bild via the Royal Court, picture two is by Erik Olsson via the Swedish Red Cross.

Anyone has pitcures of the three sons of Christina and Tord just after their birth?

Princess Christina and her husband are such a wonderful couple. I had the chance to meet them once during an official function and they are both very gracious. Tord is very attentive to his wifes safety and comfort during official engagements and very sweet toward her.
I remember an anecdote from the time they got engaged after a long courtship. In order for them to spend time away from possible cameras the went to Tord's family's summer house. In order for Christina to be un-noticed she would curl up in the back seat of the car with a blanket over her and Tord would just drive along as if by himself.

Like the Duchess of Gloucester, Princess Christina gets lovelier as she gets older - I really like her longer hair.

A question for the swedish members, Princess Sybilla seemed to me quite a ardent royalist, how did she react to all her children but one, marrying commoners? How did her daughter manage to grow into this wonderful regal, person who doesn't seem to have any stifling airs and graces?

And why would she not grow into a wonderful regal.......

And why would she not grow into a wonderful regal.......
I meant normal, down to earth, able to connect properly with one of us (or many ) commoners...Not many royals from the previous generation, or 2 generations ago (depends how old you are) were able to see eye to eye on daily matters like she is, Princess Margaret of GB, or the princess Benedickte of Denmark or the Dutch Queens sisters don't seem such types. They could be nice and all, even special, yet there seems to be a distance, even a certain haughtiness which Princess Christina, whilst being regal and royal doesn't seem to have.

i am looking for photos of christina as a young women
does anyone have some on thir computer
there is not many photos on the internet
maybe someone has a few photos from a old svensk damtidinng or something like that
