The Queen will be ”mountain goat”
Queen Sonja will be selected "Mountain goat of the year" during the Norwegian Mountain Festival at Åndalsnes July 16th.
The organizers behind the Norwegian Mountain Festival think Queen Sonja is an example of what the festival stands for. The Queen will attend the hand out of the award Saturday July 16th. “She has a genuine interest for easy hikes in the mountains and the interest is very deep. That is why she is a fantastic ambassador for what we stand for and the fact that she comes to Åndalsnes to accept the award is a recognition of the festival” says festival manager Stein P. Aasheim to NRK.no. Earlier Vegar Ulvang (fomer accomplished cross country skier) and Børge Brende (former Minister of Environment, now Minister of Commerce and Trade).
